Silas’ POV:
A Few Years Ago:
The engagement has worn me out. I was physically present at the moment and got engaged to Roxanne, but I was mentally absent. I couldn’t help but think about what that girl said and that little baby in her arms.
“Rick,” I said his name as we took a stroll together. The venue was still intact in their garden; the weather was started to get worse as it had already rained a couple of hours after our wedding.
It was midnight and I wasn’t able to get any sleep. Roxanne and her family had fallen asleep so Rick and I made our minds to take a stroll in the garden and discuss a few things.
“What if that baby is indeed mine?” I asked him while looking down.
“Then it will open a lot of doors for many possibilities,” Rick mumbled, matching his pace with mine.
“What do you mean by that? What kind of possibilities?” I ask
Present Time:Octavia’s POV:It’s been a weird week. Silas had been awfully silent but it seemed like he was trying to spend more time with himself. I have seen Roxanne play around with Hope and I was losing my control now.My daughter was supposed to rely on her parents or else she will lose herself again.“I was thinking if you would want me to check the borders for you today,” I suggested, watching Silas rub his temples and get all moody. He had woken up earlier than all of us and spent hours jogging around the pack. After he returned to the mansion, he took a shower and joined us for the breakfast but he hadn’t said a single word.“Don’t you see he is not feeling well?” Roxanne rolled her eyes, trying to sound more considerate.“I do and that’s why I am asking if he would like me to accompany him,” I responded bitterly to her.
“Ahh,” he groaned as he was beginning to wake up. We were parked in front of the school when Silas woke up.“Must be very tired to doze off like that,” I laughed a little, watching him rub his face in his hands. ‘“We have come to pick up Hope from school,” as I told him where we are now, he straightened his back and swiftly checked the time.“I can’t believe I slept through the entire work time,” he sounded shocked that he felt this peacefully in his car.“It is fine. Some days, the tiredness makes the most uncomfortable places feel comfortable,” I was slowly preparing myself to bring up the topic of Rick. I would have already talked about him but then my eyes landed on Hope. She had just come out but her posture was telling me that she was very depressed.Silas followed my stare and looked in the direction of Hope. A few little kids came out and surrounded her.“
We were sitting on the bench, watching Hope play. We came here after lunch since going back to the mansion where Roxanne was made us both uncomfortable. The mansion had a very weird aura around it. It not only feels very depressing but one would feel lost when walking into the mansion. But that wasn’t what I planned to discuss with Silas about. I had to speak to him about the things he told Hope at the lunch about us getting married.I adjusted myself, straightening my posture to get ready for a huge argument. I bet Silas noticed my body language because he turned to face me before I could even open my mouth."Why did you tell her we are getting married?" I raised an option, watching him start mending his tie uncomfortably."Because I thought that would be the right thing to do," he replied, trying not to make it seem like a big issue. But it was a big thing, especially when he thought that is what I would want."Just because you have now fou
"Sorry, what do you mean?" I closed my eyes and focused on listening to him. I felt like maybe I have heard him wrong, could be the wind making him sound weird and crazy."I'm not the one who doesn't want to get married, so you do it but if you made me look like a bad person, then I'll deal it my way," he didn’t shy away from explaining what he had said. I was shocked to hear him stubbornly push me into the mud that he had dug and filled up for me."Huh! Just a few hours ago you were telling me how sorry you are," I scoffed, feeling extremely frustrated with him."I am but that doesn't mean I will make myself look bad in front of my daughter. Just like you, I too care about my daughter," he shrugged his shoulders, it seemed like he was finally deciding to throw tantrums for getting rejected.“But you were the one who gave her a false hope,” I argued back but from the looks of his face, one could tell no matter what I say, he was not goin
‘And there is a couch,’ I then pointed at the couch in the corner of the room. ‘Are you planning on giving up such a comfortable bed for the couch?’ as Icy raised a concern, I found it hard to let go of the bed. ‘But he cannot fix in that couch, he is too tall for that couch,’ I groaned tiredly. ‘And how is that our problem?’ Icy was right, I shouldn’t worry about him. Hence it was decided. I took a quick shower and got ready for the bed before his arrival so that when he arrives, I am already in the bed either sleeping or pretending to be asleep. The bed was extremely comfortable. The soft blanket over my body was making me smile and cuddle with myself. I was glad that I made the right decision, I don’t care if he has to suffer while sleeping on the couch, I have slept in the worst conditions while pregnant with Hope. I was still in bed when I heard the door being opened and closed shut. My eyes were shut tightly so that he thinks I a
I stayed there whilst he slept in my lap. I wanted to slide his head down in the bed and get away from him but something inside me was stopping me from moving away from him.It wasn't a lie that I have not been able to get over him entirely but at least I had been trying to do good. He seemed at comfort when in my lap, I never noticed him having sleep issues because recently, he had been falling asleep a lot. Firstly, he slept like a baby in the car and now in my lap, I was beginning to feel like this was the only time he had slept in years.I fell asleep with my back leaning against the big pillow behind me while he slept peacefully in my lap. It was a little comforting for our wolves, I bet. Icy must have commented and bothered me the entire night had she been awake. This worries me a little bit about her, she had been sleeping a lot lately which isn’t a good sign. Imagine I am in need of her and she is sleeping, usually, she sleeps when I sleep but now
"What? The wedding?" Roxanne asked furiously, but hoping to come off as less aggressive as she could be. I shook my head secretly at the mess she was going to create for us now.“Mommy and daddy’s wedding,” Hope being an innocent child she was, murmured very sweetly. Roxanne’s jaw hit the floor as she watched our faces one by one. In order to avoid her from getting all riled up and saying something offensive in front of Hope, I managed to speak to Hope."Hope! Come on! Finish your breakfast, you are getting late," I said, looking at my plate instead of watching Roxanne see what she was doing.Roxanne seemed shocked because she had dropped the fork on the plate. Everything went awkwardly silent after that, Hope and Silas were the only ones that were still eating. I was only playing with my food while Hope had finished the food.I took Hope to the car and after I returned, I found Roxanne standing near the table and Silas eating his
Once she left, I fell asleep on the couch only to wake up at a call from the Gamma I had met yesterday."Hm?" I woke up and cleared my throat, yet the only word escaping my lips was a noise."I'm sorry to bother you but I thought you might want to know about this," he said a little too anxiously, making me worried about what had happened."What happened?" I asked, rubbing my eyes and yawning a bit."Remember you have asked me to give you a report on the old files of the border control employees? I couldn't find it. It seems to have gone missing," As he mumbled those words, I felt like somebody stole the world from under my feet."What do you mean by it is missing?" I sat straight now that it had come down to the security of the pack."I can't find it anywhere," he said again, wondering where it went."But that file holds very private information," I sighed in worry, getting up on my feet and packing back and forth."I know. Tha
The after-party started right away but we had our own little fun planned. I saw Nessa walking behind Desmond, who was angrily trying to get away from her. The two stopped after she held his hand and stopped him from leaving.Silas, Rick, and I had followed them but didn’t come forward to announce our presence. They were standing near the trees to talk, while we stayed behind the bushes to wait for them.“I thought you said he was going to reject her?” he yelled at Nessa, not realizing he was outing himself.“I was wrong! But why does it seem like you are so mad about this?” she inquired, feeling confident once she noticed we were there to help us if he tries to do anything.“I am not mad; it is just--- I was worried for the poor girl the whole night. You got me worried for nothing,” he shouted once he couldn’t come up with an explanation to his behavior.“It doesn’t seem like that though,&
“Is Hope all dressed up?” I was standing in front of the mirror, watching the hairdresser set my hairstyle with a diamond crown on my head. My wedding dress was designed for royalty; it was a long white dress decorated with white gemstones for a Luna Queen. It was way heavier than I thought it would be, but it was all fine. At least better than wearing a mask like others. Vanessa was my bride’s maid and wearing a peach pink long gown, looking all elegant too.“Everything is ready. I will just have to go out and receive that as*hole,” as she mentioned Desmond, my mood changed. I didn’t want the wedding to be all about him but it was the one last war that I needed to win.“I am so sorry,” she instantly acknowledged what she has done but I don’t blame her. In fact, I have more to speak to her about.“Nessa! Can you bring Rick here?” I requested to see him after dismissing everybody else.&ldqu
“The question is where is he hiding and why?” Rick was the one to question since everybody else was just silently sitting around the phone and looking at his caller ID.We have called Silas home, who hadn’t sat down ever since he had found out about Desmond contacting Vanessa. He was breathing like a bull and walking back and forth around us.“Because I took everything back from him,” Silas muttered whilst not stopping. At this rate, he would have traveled the world even if he had taken breaks. He had been working up his poor feet like that would solve the problem.“When?” Rick inquired, stealing eyes from us because he knew even I wasn’t told anything about what happened to Desmond.“Okay!” Silas gave a little rest to his crazy walk and took a deep breath in to speak up, “after I made him rich, I attempted to contact him back again,” he finished as if he knew there will be some quest
It's been a few days and we were busy preparing for the wedding. Hope was the happiest one and so was I, Silas had proven to be a completely different person from the past.Tomorrow was the wedding and we were still busy sorting out office work, but at least we were trying. The masquerade wedding was Hope’s idea, she wanted to dress up like a princess and wear a mask just like the rest of the guests and pretend it to be a fairy tale. Silas and I would be the only ones to not wear a mask. I didn’t interrupt her because I was happy with whatever made her happy. He was the one helping me and Hope with everything. Rick has returned and taken his status as the Royal Beta of the pack.I would join the office with Silas every day to not be just a home at staying Luna Queen because I have spent years learning to fight so I couldn’t just throw it all away."I was working on these files about the borders when the whole insane Roxanne thing happene
Silas slowly walked towards the bench and sat down on the bench with me. His strong and refreshing scent hit my nostrils and I smiled a little. “What?” he politely asked, feeling awkward due to my reaction. I responded to him, I only shook my head and we both went silent for the next minute. "I can't believe you went through so much," Silas and I were sitting with our eyes stuck in space while my father and Rick were in the mansion. "It was all worth it, that nightmare helped me understand something," I lowered my face to focus on my fingers to distract myself from looking at him and melting right away before I could even say anything else. "Before going to that cabin, I didn't accept your marriage proposal because I held so much resentment towards you that I couldn't see past the truth," I started talking and spilling what I had been keeping in my heart for too long. The good thing was that he was silently listening to me without adding anyth
Tessa had stabbed her own daughter in haste when she thought she was attacking me. Everybody was now silent at the outcome of Roxanne’s jealousy of me."Roxanne!" Tessa's body shuddered when Roxanne collapsed on the floor without any delay.Silas wrapped his arm around me and covered Hope with his other arm as we watched Tessa get on net knees and cry like a wounded she-wolf.Hope was sobbing while not being able to pull away from me."My daughter!" she screamed, holding her daughter's dead body in her lap and shedding tears. Now she understood what it is like to see someone you love so much in pain?“Roxanne! Wake up. I didn’t mean to,” she was bawling her eyes and screaming, her voice was going to haunt us forever.“Hope! Look at me,” I got on my knees to cup Hope’s face in my hands, “we will leave now, okay?” I wanted to take her out of here so that she doesn’t have to listen to
“Octavia!” Silas smiled while I expected him to be mad at me, to yell at me. I bet Roxanne had shown him the video and probably made it seem like I have run away from him but he still smiled in contentment.“Silas!” after so many years of suffering and accusing each other either under the control of some stupid blue rose or by misconception, saying his name didn’t only contain tears in my eyes but also love for him.“My Octavia!” he corrected himself and my heart skipped a beat, everything turned blurry while his image stayed bright in my view.I can only thank the nightmare to make me forget the past and move on, I was desperate to accept Silas and get accepted by him. our moment of reunion was interrupted once I acknowledged the person behind him was equally shocked to see me.“Rick!” Silas looked shocked and it definitely took him a moment to recognize him.“You are back!” Roxanne
“So do you remember losing from me,” I smirked weakly because I don’t even know what she was capable of. I watched her show her face and I realized I wasn’t wrong. She was probably in her 50s but looked way older than her real age because of all the animosity she had carried in herself throughout the years.“And I was right! You do have all the qualities of your mother. Beautiful, smart, and a bi***!” she grunted, appearing in front of us with her lips blaring hate. The light stuck in her hand was now tossed to the side without any concern of anything catching fire. She was wearing a black dress and holding a silver knife in her hand. I know she had come to either shove us back in there or just finish us.“You wasted your years to get back to my mother and this was your master plan?” I scoffed to annoy her, getting a rise out of your enemy helps you in distracting them. Anger and rage do not work for everyon
“You call it a mistake?” I closed my eyes to calm my nerves down. Rick’s gentle touch around my wrist helped me hold my emotions in for now.“That was all her fault, she was being too reluctant to someone who truly loved her,” Mavi raised her voice in defense of her son, she was the reason her son never understood the fine line between right and wrong.“He forced himself on her out of rage after she passed out. Instead of being understanding of his frustration, she told Abel about it and cried a river to make my son look like a monster. She didn’t even think twice that her friend made a mistake and oh! She shouldn’t have drank anything if she was such a pure soul. That stupid bond they shared made Abel to give the power of punishment to the hands of Martha, who asked my son for an open battle without any powers. She fu*king killed my son because her ego was too big,” she finished and I urged to throw up. There
