5 - Alpha Who Obsessed With Me

"Everyone, meet me. This is my mate wife. From now on she will assist me in restoring the glory of this colony." Hilbert made his announcement in front of all my subordinates.

They all cheered happily at the arrival of the new pack leader. What they didn't know was that the Omega standing next to him was not me!

Charmy deceived everyone by dressing up as me as if it was me! That's what I can't accept!

The Alpha who promised to take me away from here, was instead forcibly pulling me closer to the party. I struggled to leave but his grip was too strong. and that's when I realized Hilbert had found me, his eyes clashing with mine as he accidentally looked at me.

Realizing I was watching him, he flashed a satisfied smile that was so obvious. As if he was satisfied that he had made me jealous, and suffering. As if her smile was saying that I deserved this.

"Hey, let go. I asked you to take me away from here, not inviting me into the party," I complained to the mysterious Alpha.

He just laughed as he continued to pull me inside. All the guests partied like they were welcoming a new king.

My heart ached even more as I remembered Hilbert and Charmy from earlier. It should have been me standing next to her, and not my own best friend.

"I know you've been rejected by Hilbert, why don't you have some fun first to cheer yourself up?" whispered the Alpha, whose name I later learned was David.

"I refuse," I said and brushed his hand away roughly. "I have to get out of here. I don't have much time right now."

"Hey, don't rush off just yet." David prevented me from moving by grabbing my shoulders roughly, causing me to almost fall over due to loss of balance.

"What the hell are you doing!" I snapped in disgust. "Are you crazy? I could have fallen earlier! Are you going to take responsibility if I get hurt!?"

"Hey, calm down a bit. You're like a pregnant Omega who's afraid of having a miscarriage here," he chirped mockingly at my panic. "Are you pregnant, Lizzbeth? That's impossible. You've already been rejected by Hilbert. There's no way he got you pregnant, is there?"

My mouth froze and I was unable to reply to his sneer that hit my heart.

With such precision, David insinuated me as if he knew all the problems I was facing. It felt like being around him made me feel even more broken and reminded me of my problems.

"Who's pregnant here?”  Hilbert suddenly came from a direction I didn't expect.

He and Charmy had finished with their announcement and were approaching the commotion that was happening because of me. I had a bad feeling as soon as he came holding hands with my best friend like he was shameless.

"Lizzbeth, are you pregnant?" he asked. His expression was thrown so painfully at me as if he was disgusted with me.

"You know our agreement, right? I don't want a baby between us. You can't get pregnant. Is that another Alpha's baby by any chance?" he probes me.

Of course, I was offended to hear him suspect me like that. When it was his fault for forgetting our wedding night!

"No, you heard wrong," I countered, not letting him know about my pregnancy. "No one is pregnant here. You all misunderstood."

After that, I wasted no time lingering here and watching Hilbert getting intimate with my best friend. My heart ached, even though this was just a fake mate contract. Watching him deliberately break my heart for want of revenge.

I made up my mind to escape from my pack, rather than having to live in the misery created by Hilbert. I left with nothing but my bare hands and the baby already in my belly.

"Since today is the celebration of King Hilbert marrying his Mate, all food prices in this market are free! Especially for our new leader!"

All the merchants in the capital were busy with various celebrations when I escaped on my first day. It was annoying because the purpose of my escape was to avoid Hilbert and Charmy.

But the truth was that wherever I went, there people kept talking about it.

"Unbelievable. I met such a beautiful Omega at the market. What are you doing alone on a night like this? Where's your mate?"

'Ah. Not again.' My mind was annoyed at the voice of an Alpha who had approached me when I had just wanted to find a place to rest in this market.

"Judging from your very fair skin, it seems like you're not just an ordinary Omega," said the impolite Alpha. He boldly touched my thigh even though there were many people there.

"Get away from me or I'll twist your neck," I threatened. He just laughed mockingly as if to condescend to my anger.

"I've seen you somewhere. It looks like you're an Alpha princess," he scrutinized my body as if he was assessing me. "I'm a businessman in this place. I can give you a luxurious house if you want to be my girlfriend. How about you come to my house now?"

"Hey! Let go! I didn't say I'd come with you!" I snapped as he suddenly hugged me from behind.

I felt so annoyed. Why is it so hard when I just want to live a quiet life? All the Alphas who saw me immediately harassed my body at first sight. Do I look that cheap?

Is that why Hilbert wasted me and rejected me?

"Looks like you're tired of living. Who said you could touch my Omega with those disgusting hands of yours?" a voice came along with a powerful punch that hurt the face of the Alpha who was about to harass me.

There was a commotion in the middle of the night market after everyone had witnessed an argument between two Alphas who had no idea where they had come from.

"H-hilbert?" I couldn't pronounce his name. As it turned out, he was the one who had rescued me from the sexual harassment I had almost experienced.

I don't know how he knew I was here, but he came right before the Alpha took me away.

"Hey! Are you stupid!" he snapped after he knocked out the Alpha. "What are you doing here!? I've been looking for you everywhere!"

"Wh-what?" I said in disbelief. "You were looking for me ... For what? Don't you already have Charmy?"

"Are you crazy? Of course, you're mine!" he screeched, making me gasp. "You are my Omega, my property! You are not to be touched by any Alpha other than me!"

Hilbert dropped his arms around me with such desperation. I could feel his shoulders shaking as if he was holding back tears.

"Damn it. I almost died when I realized you were missing from the party," he muttered as he hugged me so tightly. "You have to come back with me, now. And you will be punished for daring to run away from me."

"Wh-what?" I gasped out of his nonsense again. "You are the one who forgot about our wedding night! So what will you do if I come back? What about Charmy? Are you going to stay with her while you keep rejecting me behind people's backs!?"
