154 - Clarification

“Hilbert!”

I didn't expect David to actually leave someone with such a severe injury lying on the ground without anyone helping him.

“Hilbert! Get up! Hang on there!” I screamed, grabbing his body that was bent coldly on the wet grass.

The wound from his sacrifice for our baby still lingered in place. But other wounds, I found more and more on his body. Cuts, lacerations, wounds caused by resistance to torture.

These wounds revealed the mystery of how cruelly David had treated him. My heart felt squeezed as tight as air. It hurt like hell. Because of me, Hilbert could be hurt like this.

And because of me too, our baby had to be in someone else's hands now.

“Hilbert. I'm sorry. I know you're hurt so bad right now. But can you hold my shoulder for a moment? Just for a moment, I promise. After that, leave it to me. I'll make sure you see a doctor as soon as possible.”
