Serenity Knight
“Serenity is pregnant?” I heard Theodore ask the pack doctor, who nodded his head. He was staring at me with sympathizing eyes.
“Yes, Sire. Miss Knight is pregnant. And it’s not normal for a human being to bear a werewolf’s child, that too a King. She is pregnant with royal blood, your highness. She needs special care.” The pack doctor continued, and my eyes burned with angry tears and rage.
My eyes narrowed in a glare as I stared at Alpha King, who was too shocked to react. His gray eyes were changing colors. The golden flecks in them were getting consumed by the darkness, but other than that, he was not speaking a single thing.
“I don’t want this child, doctor,” I said, and Theodore’s eyes widened before they narrowed dangerously in a glare as he stared at me in disbelief. His gray eyes turned dark. Something malicious swirled in his dark gaze as he bent down, leaning closer to me.
“You’re talking about our child, Serenity. You can’t speak about aborting him.” The dangerous edge in his voice made me shiver, but I stood on my ground.
“After rejecting me right after fucking me, do you think I will trust you with my child, Alpha King?” I sneered at him, and his eyes flashed like lava pouring out of his dark eyes, ready to burn me into ashes.
The doctor cleared his throat, indicating his presence right there, reminding us of the lack of privacy. And that fuelled his anger even more because I saw the Alpha King’s eyes getting darker with the passing second.
“Is there anything else you want to examine, Paul? Any tests you need to run or any injections you need to give?” Alpha King asked Doctor Paul, who gulped nervously and nodded his head.
“We need to run a few tests to check if she is even healthy to carry the heir…..child in her womb. And only according to the reports can I prescribe any medicines or injections, Sire.” He said, looking down, and Theodore nodded his head.
“I want you to run all the tests in the evening, Paul. Because before that we need to talk. Leave.” Alpha King said, his eyes focused on mine, barely moving away from me. Paul bowed down one last time before hastily leaving Theodore’s room.
Once Doctor Paul left Theodore’s room, he closed the door and got back to me before I could get down from the bed in the blink of an eye.
“Get away from me, Sire, I need to get back to my job. Unlike you, I get don’t get paid for the hours I don’t work. So, leave.” I said, staring into his dark eyes and he scoffed, pressing his palms against the mattress, making it difficult for me to breathe.
The smell of his cologne was clouding my senses, making it extremely difficult for me to maintain my glare. It was getting harder for me to not embrace him right then and there and kiss him until my heart desires.
“Have you forgotten, my darling mate, whom you are talking to?” Alpha King asked me, the back of his hand gently caressing my cheeks as he leaned closer, even more, making me suck in a breath as I leaned back, unable to bear the proximity between us. The intoxicating proximity.
I have paid a heavy price for letting myself get influenced by his charms once. And Serenity Knight never makes the same mistake twice.
“Are you forgetting that I am the King of the world you live in? You humiliated me in front of my pack members, Serenity. Tell me, why should I let you go after you humiliated me in front of my people?” He asked me softly but I could hear the anger in his voice.
“And what about the humiliation I will face once the word gets out that I am pregnant and my mate doesn’t want me, Alpha King? Or is it just your honor that matters and mine has absolutely no value?” I asked him and no matter how hard I tried to keep my tears at bay, they betrayed me by escaping my captivity.
Theodore’s eyes widened when he saw my eyes getting teary. But before I could have embarrassed myself more, I quickly wiped them away, a little too aggressively, and winced when I harshly rubbed the cut on my forehead. It was an outcome of my Uncle’s abuse that refused to heal quickly, or maybe my immunity was too weak after getting abused so often these days.
I immediately hid my bruise using my hair but it was too late. The hot, burning, and lethal fire burned in his dark eyes, revealing the golden specks in them as he gently grasped my jaw, taking me by surprise. Before I could have reacted, he pushed the hair out of my forehead and his jaw hardened as he saw my bruise.
“Who?” Theodore asked me. It scared me how calm his voice was when his eyes were holding back a storm, promising me painful consequences of hurting me.
“Alpha King…..”
“Who, Serenity? Who dared to lay a hand on you? Who dared to taint this skin of yours and cause you pain? Tell me. Who?” His voice and words didn’t belong to him. It was his wolf. It has to be. Because Alpha King Theodore Black barely cared for me.
“Why does it matter, Sire? I am just a human being, after all. Just a human being who is unfortunately your mate now. And as if this misfortune was not enough I got pregnant with your child. I understand. No one will know a word about you getting me pregnant.” It was shameful how my harsh words came out as a painful cry and Alpha King tried to embrace me, to calm me down but I pushed him away with every ounce of strength I had.
“Don’t touch me…..”
“Enough. Don’t…. Don’t speak like that for yourself or our child, Serenity. I agree, my human is a little dense, my mate. But he doesn’t hate you. It’s not you but your species. How can he hate you? You’re his mate, Serenity.” His wolf spoke, bending down and I scoffed, cradling myself as I stared at him in disbelief.
“He has a very funny way of showing it then, wolfie,” I said, and his eyes glimmered as he stared at me wordlessly.
“Who hurt you, Serenity? You can’t divert the topic, my mate. Tell me.” He pressed the question again and I swallowed harshly.
I was not holding myself back from revealing the truth to save my Uncle, not at all. But I didn’t trust him. I didn’t trust his wolf either. What if he uses it against me? What if he uses my weakness to hurt me more than I already am? Especially now that I am pregnant as well.
“I fell down the stairs. It’s funny how you are asking me about the culprit when it was you who hurt me. I was too hurt, emotionally and physically after you used me that I didn’t notice I skipped a stair and fell down.” I lied through my teeth and his skin burned my jaw as he gripped my face, leaning closer to me.
“You’re lying. I can feel it. I can hear your heartbeat. It’s too loud and too fast. You’re not even breathing evenly, Serenity. You can’t lie to me, to your mate.” He whispered, staring at me, down at my lips, making me forget to breathe once again.
“I am not.” I was too stubborn to give in either.
Theodore smiled bitterly at me, getting away from me as he nodded his head.
“You are. Again. But don’t worry, Serenity, if you wish to continue lying to me, you can. But remember who I am, my mate. I am the King and nothing can be kept hidden from the master of the world.” He said, and I felt anger surging inside me. I placed my feet down to stand up but suddenly my head started spinning.
Before I could have met the floor with a painful impact, a strong pair of familiar arms again wrapped around my waist, preventing my fall, and pulling me closer to his chest. Once again.
“And until I start trusting you with yourself, Serenity, you will not leave this palace. You will not step out of this room. And you will certainly not get down from this bed. I will ask Paul to come right away and take your blood samples and conduct whichever test he feels is necessary for your and our baby’s health.” He said, his voice holding finality and I took a deep breath to calm myself.
“How many times do I need to repeat for your animalistic brain to understand that you have rejected me, your highness, and I am no longer your mate? You have no right over the child after you left me like I was a fucking doll after fucking me like a one-night-stand.” I spat angrily and Theodore’s eyes blazed perilously.
“I have every single right on my child, Serenity. What my human did was in spite of the anger and pain of his past. You’re still my mate, and this,” Theodore said, touching my belly, making me gasp, “is my child. My child.”
“Alpha King….”
“Rest, Serenity. I don’t wish to have any argument over this. Until you tell me who hurt you, caused you pain, you will stay here. Right in front of my eyes. I can’t risk you and our child, Serenity.” He said, and before I could have protested, he kissed my forehead and left me alone in his room.
The moment he stepped out of his room, I threw the pillows down, shouting at the top of my lungs.

Later that evening, Theodore brought Doctor Paul to his room to run all the check-ups. But along with them, I saw another person standing with them. A lady. Dressed in a black dress, reaching just above her knees, her lips painted red and a black hat over her head. Her long, red hair, was falling down on her chest as she carefully observed me, and stared at me with her sharp eyes.
“Serenity, meet Jillian. She is a witch, a loyal member of my pack.” Theodore spoke when he saw my confusion. The hair on the back of my neck stood up as she walked near me, holding my wrist in her hand, making me feel uneasy.
“What are you doing?” I asked her, and she stared at me wordlessly before closing her eyes as she started chanting something, incoherent to me. It took her a minute to stop whatever she was chanting to look back at me.
“You can’t let her go, Sire. You can’t reject your soulmate. Not her. She is sent by the Gods as compensation for the curse. She is the remedy of every pain, every curse that has been endured by our pack for the past many centuries. If you let her go, the child won’t survive your separation. And only she can give birth to your children. She is your only mate.” Jillian, the said witch spoke calmly, and my eyes widened in alarm.
“What curse?” I asked her, and Jillian ignored me and stared at Theodore.
“If you let her go now, the throne will never get its next heir. If you let her go now, your pack will not have the next leader, Sire. It’s not wise to enrage the fates, your highness if you know what I mean.” Jillian continued, casting a meaningful glance at me.
“The fates can go in hell for all I care! I am not staying here! You can’t make me.” I spat angrily and Theodore’s gray eyes gazed at me impassively, with no emotions at all.
I got down from the bed and was about to leave his room when Jillian spoke again.
“Go ahead, Miss Knight, if you wish to be responsible for your child’s demise, go ahead. But the moment you step out of the mansion, you will be responsible for the catastrophe you will cause.” Her words successfully stopped me in my steps.
Serenity Knight I wanted to abort the baby. But somewhere I knew I didn’t mean my words. I could never harm my child, the innocent child who was not even at fault. But I wanted Alpha King Theodore Black to realize what he did to me, how he broke me, and how I can’t trust him with my child. But what Jillian told me, it made me stop on my feet. I turned around to glare at the witch, who was standing there, cool and unfazed, barely concerned about anything other than her Sire. “We are not sure what the fates have decided for her yet but all I can say is don’t let her stay away from you, your highness. She is carrying your heir.” Jillian spoke before bowing down and leaving his room, stunning me into silence. “Miss Knight, please lie down. I need to run some tests on you.” Doctor Paul said to me, smiling in pity and I clenched my jaw and obliged. It was not like I had any other option. After taking my blood for the blood tests and many other tests, Doctor Paul took his leave, leaving
“I am not hiding anything, your highness. And even if I was, it’s none of your concern. I can take care of myself and my fears.” I said, trying to remove his fingers from my jaw. Theodore’s eyes darkened visibly but this time his anger wasn’t directed towards me. “You can take care of yourself?” He asked me dangerously, leaning closer to me, making my eyes widen. “Ye..yes.” I stammered out, and he smirked, gripping the edge of the bed as he rolled himself so that his face was directly in front of my face, barely inches apart. His upper body was hovering over mine, making me gasp. His left hand caressed the back of my face as he gripped my neck, gently but firmly. His touch ignited sparks inside me, my skin burned sensually as his fingers touched my body, igniting my soul to fire. “You said you can take care of your fears as well, no?” He asked me lowly, dipping his face down, his lips moving against my neck, sending shivers down my spine. My fingers were fisting the bedsheet. M
After taking a long shower and washing, I walked out of the bathroom, dressed in a red dress that was reaching just below my knees. I looked at myself in the mirror. My eyes had a different glow. My long hair was brushed elegantly. With a broad smile, I walked out of Theodore’s room and walked downstairs, to where his kitchen was. Perks of working in the royal infirmary. The royal dining room stilled as soon as I walked down the stairs. Everyone knew who I was. After all, they were creatures with supernatural hearing powers. But none of them dared to utter a single word. None of them dared to let the other person know that they knew their Alpha King was mated to a human being. Theodore stopped eating his breakfast. His gray eyes snapped towards me and his eyes widened for a moment. His eyes drank in my presence, gazing at me from my feet to my face, taking his time to check me out. With a sweet smile, I waved at him and walked near them. Several seats were empty around Theodore. His
They say jealousy is an ugly emotion. But when Theodore Black was shaking in jealousy, it was a very pleasing sight to witness. Especially when the man claimed that he had absolutely no interest in me. Asher stiffened beside me. He was scared for his life. And I didn’t really blame him. Theodore was looking livid in anger. A pleasurable shiver ran down my spine when my mate took angry steps towards me. Anger was swirling inside his eyes. I could see his vein pulsating in his neck. As much as unholy my thoughts were at that moment, he did arouse me. But then again, his presence was enough to make me feel hot from within. “Your Highness, I saw Miss Knight in the garden and came here to see if she was alright or not,” Asher replied respectfully and Theodore growled possessively as his fingers gripped Asher’s collars, making my eyes widen. “Your Highness,” I whispered, shocked and astounded. Theodore shook his head angrily, pulling Asher closer to him. “Leave, Asher. And I don’t w
Theodore Black had been ignoring me for the past two days. After confessing his concern for me, he refused to show me his face. I know he regretted confessing his concern for me when he stopped coming to sleep on his own to avoid me. Irritation spread in my veins when I found three new guards were stationed outside the room— she-wolves. All of them were female warriors. “What is happening here? Why are you all standing here and guarding me?” I asked them, and one of them decided to answer me in the most formal tone she could muster. “His Highness has ordered us to guard you because he doesn’t trust you with yourself. He said you’re more prone to accidents than anyone else in the mansion. We are just following the orders, Miss Knight.” Brunette answered and anger flashed in my eyes as I got up from the bed and glared at her. “I appreciate your loyalty to His Highness, Miss…..” I stopped, realizing I didn’t know her name. Amusement swirled in her eyes but soon they turned emotionless
“You think Alpha King Theodore Black is the perfect soulmate for you, Serenity, don’t you? Then let me tell you he was cursed for killing Moon Goddess’s only son.” Alexander painfully cried out, freezing me on the spot before he was successfully dragged out.My hands touched my flat belly as Alexander’s words echoed in my mind. He was cursed for killing the Moon Goddess’s only son. The father of my child killed a goddess’s son. My body trembled as I realized how strong my mate was. How strong can a normal werewolf be to kill a Goddess’s son? How can someone be so stone-hearted to separate a mother from her son?A warm pair of hands pulled me out of my dark thoughts and I flinched involuntarily when he touched me. Alexander’s words were still roaming inside my head. Hurt flashed in his gray eyes when he saw fear in my eyes. Carefully he made me sit on the chair. The hall was a royal mess. And that’s when I noticed that Theodore was no longer naked. He was wearing a pair of gray sweatp
“Tell me why were you crying, Serenity?” Theodore asked me, his fingers gently caressing my cheeks, and I shook my head, taking a deep breath. But he was breaking my composure. His lips gently brushed against my skin. My eyes closed when he pressed a kiss against my jaw. His fingers inching very close to my breasts. Before he could have pulled my shirt up, I held his wrists. “Remember what I said about touching me, Your Highness?” I asked him, my eyebrows raising up questioningly, and his eyes flashed dangerously. “Can’t you forget about your meaningless vow for once?” He asked me, irritated, and I smiled sweetly at him, grabbing his shoulders and pushing him on the bed as I climbed over him, pressing my thighs on either side of his torso. Theodore’s eyes widened for a second when I leaned closer, letting my index finger trail down his cheek. I heard his breath hitching when I leaned dangerously close to him. I was enjoying how vulnerable he was to my touch. I liked how much my t
“So you are living as Alpha King’s mistress now? Are you fucking him now?” I heard him, and my eyes turned red from rage and anger as I stared at my Uncle, Mason, who was glaring at me with hatred and disgust. “What the hell are you doing here?” I asked him, shocked and angered, and he let out a sadistic laugh, glaring at me with his accusatory eyes. “Came here to see what kind of a whore you are, Serenity! You’re pregnant with the Sire’s child now? But guess what, my sweet niece? The Alpha King was cursed to stay mateless and childless for eternity! Tell me whose child is it? Who are fucking…..” Uncle Mason started, and anger surged inside my body. “Not everyone is like you, Uncle. Just because you like to sleep around, doesn’t mean I am like you as well! And you really have a death wish to drag me here, push me down, and then call me names.” I spat, getting up from the floor. Uncle Mason’s eyes narrowed in displeasure. His anger increased when he saw me standing up and trying
"I am sorry. I dropped the plates by mistake." Scarlett gritted through her teeth, looking at me. For the first time since we met, I saw anger in her eyes. Her eyes were flaming, she had a sinister look in her eyes. The way her eyes narrowed in anger, and her fingers clenched in a fist, anyone could tell how furious she looked. My belly painfully twisted when her gaze stayed on me for long. "Are you okay, Scarlett? You look in pain." Theodore held my hand in concern, and I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath, shaking my head as I forced out a smile. "I am fine. Your child is mischievous and really terrorial. Just like its father and mother. Doesn't appreciate anyone's gaze on me." I said, speaking the last part out loud, looking briefly at Scarlett, who immediately lowered her gaze. She dropped the plates when she saw Theodore kissing me. She was glaring at me since Theodore wrapped his arms around me. She had been shooting daggers at me since then. "Scarlett, leave the plates.
Theodore looked at me when Scarlett asked him to cook for her as well. Normally, I wouldn't have minded but something about her made me feel uneasy. I closed my eyes, and nodded my head softly. I shouldn't let her affect me. "Sure." Theodore whispered, tying the apron around his waist before he started washing the vegetables, and removed meat from the fridge. "So, what are you cooking?" Scarlett asked Theodore, walking beside him, taking the knife from his hand, her hands brushing his forearm. My eyes narrowed slightly when she inched close to him, smiling sweetly at him as she started chopping the vegetables. Clenching my jaw tightly I looked away from them, taking a deep breath. "Can you shift a little, Scarlett?" Theodore asked her politely, but his voice was low, dangerous to my ears. My eyes snapped towards them. Theodore looked uncomfortable. His fingers were clenched in a fist, and his muscles were tense. He looked angry. "Actually, Scarlett, why don't you sit down and wai
Doctor Paul's silence was enough to give me a heart attack. My heart was pounding anxiously inside my chest, my palms were sweaty and cold. Was my child fine? The mere thought of something happening to my baby made tears burn my eyes. "Luna is fine, Sire. And as far as I examined, our heir is also fine. He is growing rapidly inside. We, wolves have a gestation period of two months. But she is a human being carrying Alpha King's heir. Things will be different with her. We never saw a case like her before, Sure. We never saw a human being giving birth to a werewolf's child. That too royalty." Doctor Paul said, and I let out a breath of relief. "But I am still not sure why Luna feels sudden pain whenever she senses something is wrong. We need to call the witches, Sure. We need to know more about the procephy." Doctor Paul concluded, closing the button of his coat, and Theodore's eyes narrowed slightly. "I don't trust the witches, Paul." Theodore's dark voice made me shiver. His finger
My mood was sour when Theodore dismissed my concern. For him, Scarlett was his friend, someone who always helped him when he was struggling with the curse. I can't really blame him for trusting his friend. And I had no idea how to explain to him what I was feeling. "Why do you look so angry? You look like a tomato, you see, Serenity. Red. Angry. Hot. Delicious. Maybe I can take a bite of you and know what is making you so angry?" Theodore said, walking out of the bathroom, towel draped around his waist, showing a lot more of his body. His golden skin was shining as droplets fell down from his damp hair, rolling down his neck, his chest. I gulped harshly when my eyes fell on his torso. Naked. He was naked except for a towel. The mischievous glint in his eyes made my throat dry, like sandpaper. And suddenly my sour mood, my anger, my frustration, every negative emotion I had piled up inside me melted faster than butter on a hot pan. I was gaping at him, like a fish. He was looking too
Scarlett Greene. She was dressed in a beautiful seagreen colored gown, looking royal as ever. For some reason, I could feel jealousy bubbling inside me. My eyes widened in shock, burning in jealousy when Scarlett Greene hugged Theodore tightly as if they had met after an eternity. And the rage inside me turned red, hot, ready to burn when Theodore hugged her back, as tightly as she was hugging him, if not more. "I missed you, Theo." She said, pulling away from him, and Theodore looked at her with a teary gaze. "I missed you too, Scarlette. You're alive. I….. I thought I lost you." He whispered softly, and my eyes narrowed in displeasure. "I thought I won't be able to return back here, Theo. I thought they would kill me. But I ran away from their captive. I need a place to stay, Theo. Please save me, Theo. Please." Scarlett cried, her tears troubling me from within. "Stay here, Scarlett. You have helped me so much when I needed you. I will never leave you alone when you need me, Sc
I thought the nightmares were put to end when I shifted to the mansion. But I was brutally pulled to the reality of my messed up mind when the past started haunting my sleep. I woke up with a scream. My body was shivering badly, sweat beading my forehead. Tears were rolling down my eyes. Everything felt so real. I could barely breathe. It was getting so hard for me to breathe, like someone had placed a stone on my chest, held my chest painfully, restricting me to breathe. And when I thought I would die from lack of oxygen, I was pulled to a warm embrace. My body was caged by a pair of warm arms, holding me tightly against them. "Serenity, shh, it's just a nightmare. You are fine. Nobody can hurt you, my love. Just take deep breaths." He ordered me softly, holding me in his embrace, rubbing soothing circles on my back. But it was not just a nightmare. I knew it was more than a nightmare. It was anything but a nightmare. It was a horrific part of my past. A part where everything is
Theodore walked inside his room with the first-aid box. His gray eyes were dark. He looked angry. But more than angry, he looked upset. I opened my mouth to speak, to apologize to him but nothing came out. I looked at him silently as he bent down in front of me, gently taking my arms to guide me on the bed. "Let me tend to your wounds." He said slowly, softly, and my heart broke into pieces when he started cleaning my cuts gently, not uttering anything else. A hiss escaped my mouth when the antiseptic met my open cut. And his concerned gaze looked up. Shaking his head, he blew on my cuts and scratches, making me shiver. "You are my Queen, Serenity. And I didn't appreciate you questioning my emotions for you just to make me do something." He said after a minute of cleaning my wounds. My heart started racing inside my chest when he looked up, his intense gaze making me swallow my spit harshly. He rubbed the insides of my wrist, looking at me without blinking his eyes. "I am sorry,
Alexander Woods was on the floor with my soulmate over him. Theodore’s arm was strangling his neck, his eyes were dark, as dark as they could have gotten. While the latter was struggling to breathe, my mate was angry. His body was shaking in anger. He was looking enraged, ready to lose control. His wolf was ready to take charge. “How dare you cross the boundary of my pack, get treatment from my soulmate, and try to harm her!? How fucking dare you touch her? She is my mate!” Theodore growled in anger, kicking him painfully in his gut, and Alexander curled in pain.“I won’t let you win again, Black! You won once! You killed Phoenix. I won’t let you win again!” Alexander weakly protested, and I saw Theodore’s eyes turn golden, flames of fire lurked in them, dangerously. "If I can kill Moon Goddess' son, Alexander, imagine what I would do with you for touching my mate! If I can kill Phoenix because he was proving to be a threat to the human race, imagine what I will do with you for har
Doctor Paul looked at me with amused eyes. While he was amused, others were shocked and they were looking too scared, and suddenly too alert. I could think of several reasons why everyone was looking at me differently. And the most fitting reason was the mark on my shoulder, glowing red, looking ferocious and wild. The claim that I was marked and Alpha King accepted me was proudly sitting on my right shoulder. Surprisingly it was looking good on me. I was never fond of tattoos but this was looked so beautiful. Though it was not a tattoo, it was still looking beautiful on my skin like it was meant to reign my body. “You are glowing today, Miss Knight. I believe the mark has to do something about it.” Doctor Murphy said as I helped other nurses in setting up the camp. Color rushed through my skin, and a blush spread my cheeks when everyone else looked at me silently but curiously. “Did the Alpha King really mark you?” One of the doctors, Amelia, asked me, touching my mark. Her eyes w
