Chapter 6: Goodbye

But, I just realized what Theodore said earlier. If it's like this, shouldn't I go with him now?

"How's this, Xena? Looks like he's serious about taking me away from this cursed place?" I muttered to communicate with my wolf figure.

"Isn't that great? That way you can get out of here, I'm so sick of being in this place!" Xena audibly snorted, unhappy with the fact that we were still in this pack. 

"You're right, my priority right now is to get away from this place." After talking to Xena, I could be a little calmer now. 

I didn't realize that Theodore was walking towards me at this time, I only realized when I smelled an unfamiliar scent emanating from Theodore's body that I had already felt when we met in the forest that time. 

When I looked up, I could see that Theodore's deep blue eyes were staring at me with a gaze that I couldn't decipher. 

For a moment I couldn't take my eyes off him, as if I was lost in his gaze. 

I finally came to my senses when I heard Theodore's heavy voice ringing firmly in my ears. 

"Starting from today you don't need to be in this pack. Prepare to leave, you're coming with me!" Theodore said seriously. 

For some reason I felt goosebumps on my body when I heard his words and I didn't argue with him at all. 

"O-okay, Alpha!" I said quite nervously. 

I quickly headed back to the basement to pack up my remaining things. 

However, just as I was about to step my feet to leave, I felt someone holding my hand this time. 

When I turned my head to see who did it, I was surprised to find that it was Luke. 

"What are you doing, Luke?" I asked, feeling confused. 

After I found out Luke betrayed me with Vivian, my feelings for him had died. All I had left in my heart for Luke now was hatred. 

"Y-you can't just leave like that. Have you forgotten that you're my fiancé?" It looks like Luke has the courage to resist my departure. 

Just from looking at the look on his face alone I could clearly see that Luke really dared himself to speak in front of Theodore. 

Annoyed by what Luke was doing right now, I shook off his hold on my arm. 

"Your fiancé? So you still think of me as your fiancé?" I laughed sarcastically while giving him a sharp look. 

"Of course!" Luke timidly glanced at Theodore who was still watching us from a distance. 

"So, what about Vivian? I saw you making out with her yesterday," I replied with a flat face, looking straight at Luke. 

I could feel that all the people gathered in the square at this moment looked surprised by my words just now. 

Even though they hated me, still what Luke and Vivian did could really damage their pack's reputation further. 

And I could see that Luke was very surprised by the fact that I knew what he had been doing with Vivian all this time. 

But, it seemed that because whispers were starting to be heard from around, Luke's body was visibly shaking with anger at the moment. 

I furrowed my brow and reflexively retreated my steps, away from Luke who felt like he was about to explode in anger. 

And sure enough as I expected, like he had lost his mind Luke looked at me with a glare, then in a split second later I felt him wanting to attack me. 

But, even though I knew that, it was too late to avoid Luke's surprise attack.

I could only close my eyes and prepare to feel the pain of Luke's attack. However, after a few moments passed, I didn't feel anything. 

Confused and curious about what was happening, I ventured to open my eyes. 

I was instantly shocked by what was happening right now. In front of me now I could see a solid back standing in front of me. 

For a moment I was amazed to see that, from just one glance I could already tell who was trying to protect me, it was Theodore. 

After realizing that I was safe for now, I let out my breath with relief, I didn't realize that I had been holding my breath out of fear. 

Then, there was Theodore's voice that felt very creepy at the moment, even though I was speechless at the moment. 

"A bastard like you is better off being killed." Theodore's voice sounded very cold at this moment. 

Not only was his voice intimidating, but the fact that Theodore was clutching Luke's neck at this moment was even more terrifying to see. 

"A traitor who betrays his mate is pretty bad, isn't it. Then it doesn't matter if you die," Theodore continued with murderous intent. 

However, when I couldn't move to stop Theodore's actions, I saw another flat-faced man approaching Theodore. 

"Alpha, calm down. Killing that bastard now will only make things worse, after all he is the successor of the Nightmare Night pack." In a calm tone the flat-faced man tried to calm the angry Theodore. 

Theodore only snorted softly after listening to the man's words, then casually threw Luke's body which was almost suffocated to death. 

In the blink of an eye I once again came face to face with the current Theodore, making my heart beat faster again. 

"Looks like there's nothing you want to take with you from here. Come on, leave!" Theodore unexpectedly took my hand and pulled me away from the crowd. 

I quickly came to my senses and withdrew my hand to stop Theodore from taking me away. 

"Let me do something before you take me away," I said while looking at Theodore. 

Theodore just rolled his eyes lazily, but I felt his hand no longer clasping mine. 

"Thank you," I said with a faint smile. 

Then, I walked slowly towards Luke who was still coughing after almost suffocating to death in Theodore's hands. 

"Wh-what else do you want bitch!" Luke yelled in a hoarse voice when he saw me approaching him. 

I just laughed softly when I heard how he called me this time, I guess I was so stupid to ever believe that Luke really loved me all this time. 

Now that I can clearly see that he never once loved me all this time, I can only laugh at my stupidity. 

"How stupid of me to think that you loved me all this time." I looked at him blankly. 

"Who would love a cursed person like you," Luke replied, sounding like he was clearly reproaching me. 

I could only smile sadly, originally I didn't intend to do this, but seeing Luke's current actions, I had already strengthened my heart to do it. 

"Alright, I am Roxanne Willete, reject you Luke Heath as my mate." I looked at Luke one last time. 

As I said that I could feel my heart breaking into pieces again at this moment as if I lost my other half.
