"It was not our intention to hurt you by not telling you. We were just really worried about your health and we would rather face this alone than have you worry and lose you earlier than we want to." Killian explained softly while approaching his father and sitting by his foot.

Derek nodded in agreement, "We're sorry if we didn't think about what you'd feel. It won't happen again but just for this one time, can you please understand us?"

Benedict knew his sons were right.

They knew that more stress would cause his body to suffer but even if he knew that, the pain of knowing what his sons were going through while he was just inside his room was enough to almost bring him down to his knees.
