To her credit, my runaway housekeeper who wasn’t kept her cool. She even went on the offensive, asking in a calm manner, “Where’s Gamma Harriet?”

“Why?” my Luna demanded. “Surely you must know your wiles won’t work on her?”

I appraised Amy from head to foot, liking what I saw immensely. What I didn’t like was the smell emanating from her; not foul, just alien. She’d been with another. It was not to be tolerated.
