Chapter sixty two: threats

The peaceful weekend was over in a flash and it was back to work. Karen noticed instantly that Jasper was no where to be seen. It was almost like he had been erased from the memories of everyone, no body talked about him, no body mentioned him and his desk was cleared of all his possession, and just by ten am on Monday, someone else had replaced him.

Karen did wonder what had happened, and why he was working for Verena's father, but she had no one to ask.

"You look glowy today," Karen heard a voice say. She turned to see Sonia beside her, smiling and looking her up and down.

"Good morning Sonia." Karen said with a smile.

"How was your weekend? Did something amazing happen?" She wiggled her brows suggestively

"Something like what?" Karen asked with a coy smile. "Just the usual weekend activities. Some relaxation, fun outings with friends, that's all."
