(Kaeleigh POV)
“Adam?” I stuttered. “You scared me” He just stood there not moving, his face in shadow. I moved forward slowly until I was within arm’s reach.
“Adam?” I was starting to feel uneasy. Then he stepped forward, and the light hit his face, which was set in fury.
“Do you know how long it took me to get there, Kaeleigh?” He moved towards me again and I backed away. He stopped and a slow smile played across his face.
“What’s up, Kaeleigh? I thought we were friends?” He took another step forward, and I backed up again.
“Adam, what’s wrong?”
I felt like I was pre
(Kaeleigh POV)When I woke up, I was in a strange bed in a strange room. And by the looks of it, it was a guy’s room. I looked around the room. It looked like a bigger version of my own room. The furniture was made from a rich dark wood. Other than the bed that I was in, which was seriously comfortable as fuck, there was a large chest of drawers and a desk, both solid looking with clean, masculine lines. Both of them seemed to be covered in random stuff like it had been dumped there. At the far end of the room there was a large TV on a matching dark wood entertainment centre along with several of the latest popular gaming consoles, as well as a few I didn’t recognise. In front of it was a large, light brown three-seater sofa. The walls were a warm beige and had various movie posters and such hung on them. Geez, where the fuck was I?I peeked under t
(Kaeleigh’s POV)I looked down at the t-shirt that I was wearing. “Chase, could I er… borrow some pants?” He grinned at me.“I’m trying to get your clothes off, not help you put on more.” I glared at him.“I’m sure your father will be fine with me walking round your room half naked, then?” He shrugged and winked at me.“I think he probably would, actually.”“CHASE!” I exclaimed. He laughed at my glare.“One second, baby.” He walked out of the room. I stood there in the middle of the room staring at the door until he came walking back in with a purple spark
(Alpha Daniels’s POV)I watched her reaction carefully as I told her. I needed to know if she had known all along, if she was hiding it. The amount of power she had, she had to know. But judging from her reaction, she was either a very good actor or she truly didn’t know. Her eyes widened as I said it, and her breathing increased. In fact, she looked like she was about to go into a panic attack.“Wha- What do you mean?” she stuttered. I nodded to Alrik, who went to take hold of her hand, but Chase shook his head. I watched as he stroked her arm and whispered in her ear, and she visibly relaxed against him, her breathing studying again. It looked like an intimate exchange, and I felt like I was intruding and wanted to give them privacy, but I was also fascinated by the power of the fated bond itself. I had never seen the effects so obviou
(Kaeleigh POV)I sat on the sofa in a state of shock. I felt like I had more questions than answers. Even though the Alpha had given me an explanation for my apparent Alpha status, I could tell that he wasn’t being completely honest. And how could I even know what my feelings were if my wolf was controlling me with lust as well as anger? The idea made me shudder. Chase pulled his arm from around me and got up to walk away, and moments later, I felt a blanket on my shoulders. “Hey, baby.” I looked up at Chase, who was watching me with concern. “Why don’t you get comfortable on the sofa?” He gently coaxed me to sit back on the sofa and moved the blanket so it was covering me. He sat down on the edge of the sofa. “I linked Zoey and suggested a movie and game night here.” I nodded. Maybe something to take my mind off of everything I had just learned might help.
(Kaeleigh’s POV)***Two Months Later***Chase kept his word, for the most part. He kept away from me and gave me space. There were a few issues. Like when we started the warrior training, his alpha protective ass attacked both Jensen and Zack for going too rough, in his opinion, with me. By the end of the first week, the Alpha had decided that Chase should step back from my training too. I knew he wasn’t happy about it, but I needed to learn, and the boys had to be able to teach me without fear of having their throats ripped out. This left the only real official time of seeing Chase, was in the office, but we somehow ended up on different accounts, so even that time was minimal. I was incredibly grateful. The distance allowed me to really settle into the routine of the pack, make friends, and actual
(Kaeleigh’s POV)I stared directly into Adelaide’s eyes, seeing the fear in them.“I asked you this before, and I ask again, do I feel like an Omega to you?” she paled even further but remained silent, like a deer caught in the headlights.Jensen appeared by my side and I felt his hand on my arm“How’s it going, princess?” I could feel his cool aura trying to penetrate my skin. Chase growled at him and I saw Jensen hold his hand up to Chase, and a couple of the warriors moved in closer.“Come back to us princess,” Jensen’s soothing voice in my ear. I turned and looked at him with a cool smile on my face.“Do I look like I’m not in control, Jensen?” he gave me a quizzical look mixed with concern but let his arm drop away from me“Well, no,” he laughed nervously. “In fact, I am not sure which one scares me more right now, Uncontrolled gold eyed Kae
(Kaeleigh’s POV)I couldn’t keep my eyes open as I felt myself being placed within the soft sheets. My body was still buzzing from the unexpected, intense orgasm that had just ripped through my already exhausted body. I could feel the bindings of sleep wrap around me, pulling me into the darkness as I heard moving around. Moments later, I felt the bed dip and then arms pulling me into an embrace, warmth curling around me from my back.I allowed the sleep to take me, knowing I was secure where I was. Just as I was slipping out of the final stages of waking life, I felt a spark of electricity on my shoulder before a voice in my ear.“Good night, my little mouse.” Instantly, images from when I was a child hit me. A dark-haired boy laughed as I tried to keep up as he and his blond-haired fr
(Kaeleigh’s POV)Family breakfast was in the private dining room for the Alpha on the same floor. The whole floor was set aside for the Alpha and his family, including a few guest rooms designed for visiting Alphas.I dragged my heels a little as we walked round the halls into the main living area, which consisted of a large living room, dining room and den. To one side was what looked like a study which looked full of books. The whole place was decorated in muted shades of browns, greens and golds with dark wood furniture. Chase squeezed my hand as we walked into the dining room, although I wasn’t sure if it was through annoyance or comfort. The dining table was big enough to fit ten people comfortably and was set out with fresh linens with racks of toast and a fresh pot of coffee down the centre, and place settings for five people on one end

(Kaeleigh’s POV)*** Two Weeks Later ***I stood on the stage at the former Dark Moon and now Dark Circle pack territory and looked out across the crowd. I felt warmth rush through me as Chase squeezed my hand beside me as we waited for the crowd to quiet down. The crowd was a mix of werewolves, witches and hybrids, although the latter were massively outnumbered by the first two. The last two weeks had been crazy busy as we worked to create some sort of order in everything. The battle had ended in our favour, but we still had losses. I had been upset to learn from Jensen that Zack’s mate had been expecting and watching as she received the news that she had already felt was heart wrenching. I had been told that the death of her mate had sent her into shock. This wasn’t uncommon, as the separat
(Kaeleigh’s POV)I clung to Adam as I screamed for help. There was blood everywhere, and his eyes were fluttering. Dayna was crying.“Why can’t I do anything?” she screamed. “Adam I mean it, don’t you dare die on me, not when I have just told you I love you.” I looked up at her in shock and she looked at me, tears streaming.“Kaeleigh, tell him he can’t die. We agreed. We are choosing each other as mates. He has to live.” She shook Adam as his eyes closed. “Kaeleigh, order him, please,” I shook my head and looked down at Adam in my arms.“Why did you do something as stupid as that?” I cried at him and his eyelids fluttered open again. He looked up and smiled.
(Asher’s POV)“Well, look what we have here,” I snarled as I walked into the clearing. “If it isn’t my not so loyal Beta.” I had seen Cade just as he had snapped the neck of that imbecile Fischer. As I got closer, I saw him holding his mate. I watched them as he comforted her. He was so gentle and caring. Before her, Cade had been a different sort. He had always been ready for a good time with the supply of Omegas that we kept around and I could pinpoint to the day that he had met his mate. Everything changed. He stopped drinking as much, stopped going out. He disappeared on weekends on private business.I got why. A fated mate is an awful weapon in the wrong hands and my father had taken a dislike to Cade pretty much after his own father had left the pack. If my father had known that Cade had found his mate, he would h
(Zoey’s POV)“I gotta go,” I hissed, watching the blond streaks as they flashed through the woods. “I got a score to settle.” I started walking towards the last place that I saw the bleached blond trash. I could feel Cade’s presence behind me. I wasn’t sure whether he was there to protect me or to protect her at this point.I woke up crying almost every night after reoccurring dreams about what she did. Dreams that repeated over me held in silver chains and her smirking face as she… I shuddered at the thought of it. I had never been so violated before in my life. I still struggled with intimacy with Cade. The irony of the fact that for the first time in almost five years I could be open and not hide my love for my mate and yet I couldn’t stand to be touched by him. Cade had tried to talk to me about w
(Jensen’s POV)“My Hero,” Tatum grinned at me, and I couldn’t help but grin back.“Yeah, well, let’s not need that anymore,” I said as I helped her to a sitting position.“What about Jeremy?” Tatum asked and Elaina called over from where she was sitting next to the unconscious wolf.“He’s gonna be fine. It’ll take some healing, but werewolves do that quickly.” I looked at Tatum, who looked relieved.“Where’s Luke?” Tatum asked, looking around.“Your brother is as silly as you are,” the other witch, who I was unfamiliar with, said, glaring at the entrance to the n
(Tatum’s POV)I rushed into the entrance of the nook where I could see the evidence of magic flying around everywhere. I knew Jade and Luke were close behind. I surveyed the area and saw Chase on the ground next to a big black wolf and a woman with jet black hair. The woman was tending to the wolf as he laid on the floor, panting. At the other end of the nook I could see the redhead witch Isabella and my mum. There was a redheaded man standing between me and them and from the magic he was using, I could tell he was a sorcerer. I glanced at Luke, who nodded and he cast a slow down spell. While he did that, I felt for my new-found powers and sent out energy, or whatever it was, to the surrounding trees asking them for help. I felt the connection and began to bend the trees to my will.Jade appeared as well as Jeremy and I grinned. The sorcerer, on the
(Kaeleigh’s POV)“ATTACK!”I watched as thousands of bodies appeared from the surrounding area, some in human form, some in wolf. They reached the outer edges of the town in a matter of seconds, so they must have been in the immediate area and the woods surrounding. I drew my eyes back to Asher who was watching me with an intense look. He smirked as his eyes found mine and then pulled his shirt to reveal the mark again.I rolled my eyes before closing them and blocking everything and everyone around me out. I envisioned my army of wolves, the symbol of my Alpha power and the reason I would never bow to anyone. I pulled the energy from that power and pulled it in tight. The tension alone was enough to make me feel like I was going to burst. I opened my eyes, knowing that right now they shone g
(Kaeleigh’s POV)Three hours later, a now mobile and newly sealed Cade was sitting on the sofa in the living room with Zoey on his knee and I was inspecting Tatum’s wrist. She and Jensen had emerged from his room a few minutes before and Tatum was jumping around excitedly. They had completed the bond last night and through the night Tatum had completed the transition into a Hybrid, much in the same way as Chase had with me. I looked at the pattern that had formed on her wrist and saw it was an extension of Jensen’s pattern. I smiled. I still didn’t know how everything worked, but I was loving finding out.“Oh, and watch,” Tatum said, suddenly very excited. She turned and looked around and then focused on a dying houseplant that a scowling Luke was standing by. She walked over and placed her hand on the soil and, slowly
