LINDEN
Every morning that I wake up and roll over to see her gorgeous blue eyes tracking me, is another morning where all I want, is to give her the world.
I couldn’t sleep, she couldn’t sleep, and even though this isn’t a permanent solution, sleeping in the cell next to hers is the closest we could get as she adjusted.
Each morning I leave her to go make breakfast, bringing it down so we can eat together as we always have, and each morning she ends up sitting backwards on my lap, lazily feeding from me while I eat all of her bacon. It's a fair trade, I think.
We’ve reached a new sense of normal between us, a casual nature to her new one that has her taking the blood she needs from me as she needs it, but something was different about her this
NIXON Linden’s got his hands full, quite literally. I made the mistake of going to check in on Marcy while Linden should have been on his rounds but… never again. His hands were gripping onto Marcy's ass as his bare one was behind it, eliminating any worries I had about Marcy’s level of restraint. I don’t even think he realized I was there for the millisecond it took me to flash the fuck back out of there. I needed to get the visual out of my head, but thinking about Alice wasn't any better, she was off making little dragon babies. It did, however, get me thinking... could their offspring even be two shifters at once? Would one shifter take over, or would they be little Wolf-Dragon hybrids, Wagons? Drolf
ALICE How many knots was this? I couldn’t even guess. My days were blending together and the constant need to satisfy my mates was the only thing on my mind. I gave in after day two and decided to rest in Rian’s arms, although I still feel like it's a forced event every few days. It wasn't really fair when I was sitting in his giant arms, leaning into his chest as he leaned against the headboard, and Sebastian was pressed up behind me whispering sweet nothings to me. Who could resist falling asleep to that? The environment they created demanded sleep. Nothing could touch me here, and I’d hate to see what was left of anyone who dared try. Sebastian’s fangs were nipping at my skin with a feather-like perfection that was both soothing and creating a growing need.
ALICE "You can really find me... anywhere?" I asked Rian as I sat facing him on his lap and he continued to feed me whenever I tried to ask a question. "Yes," he blinked at me, clearly annoyed that this was the fourth time I'd asked him, but did it have a limit? I mean what if I was on the other side of the world? "It might take him time," Sebastian held up some water for me to take, "but he'd really find you anywhere. We're marked," he winked at me without Rian seeing, "just like everything he-" "Sebastian..." Rian cut him off with a warning and a glare. It was meant to be a warning at least, but to me, and I'm guessing Sebastian, it was a challenge dripping with sexy undertones.
ALICE “As far as anyone knows, neither do I,” Sebastian leaned in and barely brushed his lips over mine, hovering there as he whispered, “we have to be careful, little wolf.” When he stood back up there was a seriousness to him that was usually reserved for outside of this house, “It’s why we can’t travel at night and why I can’t be found out in the daylight.” “But Scar-” “Scar secured his own,” his expressions grew rigid, “there are few and far between witches who are able to complete such a task, and that particular one found her death soon after.” He can’t be serious. Have I mentioned Maddy? Have I mentioned the ring I had secured for Marcy? Stupid. Reckless.&n
ALICE There was a pause over the phone, a hope in the form of silence that Nixon would understand what I was saying and just agree, but then his mouth ruined it. I heard the hissing sound first, then came a soft whisper so deadly that it had me on alert, “Ab..sa…fucking…lutely…not. Are you fucking insane?” “You know he won’t be able to res-” “Promise me, Al, promise me right now.” “Always together.” That was the only promise I could make Nixon because I wouldn’t stop thinking that it would be our best chance to use me as bait, and I wouldn’t promise that if given the chance I wouldn’t use it to our advantage, but I wouldn’t go into it alone. We did things together, always
ALICE “No, you didn’t say it out loud,” the impassive tone Rian used matched the look on his face and was almost a challenge. I let my guard down here, for them, and he couldn’t do the same thing? I cocked my head as I closed the distance between us, Amara pushing forwards as she bulked us slightly, sharpened our senses. I had to tip my chin higher because he was so much taller than me that I had no chance of going nose to nose with him, but that didn’t mean I would back down. Nope. I’m an Alpha. ‘You can feel his pain,’ Sebastian linked me and Rian’s eyes snapped to him, ‘he can read your mind… just like he can hear us now because he can also read mine.' “That’s
NIXON An arrow tip pressed into my chest as I caught it. Another half an inch and it would have been rebirth time. It turned to ash as I looked up at the very horrified guard. 'I'm unannounced,' I pressed my finger to my lips for them to keep it quiet, 'so I'll let this go.' I flashed beside him, patting him on the shoulder, "Good aim." He practically swooned at the compliment... what a model Alpha I am. Sometimes I forget what a big deal we are. The Heirs. We act so casually at home, and I wouldn’t want it any other way, but it’s been a while since we were required to interact with another pack and that requires a whole other persona.
NIXON Alderics wolf looked like he was preparing to burst through as Terran scolded me in a string of curse words before trying to defuse the Beta, ‘They are both alive-’ ‘Now.’ I cut him off and the poor Beta’s head looked like it was spinning. ‘I didn’t tell them everything,’ Terran shook his head at me, ‘anything, really, other than that Shadow Forest was attacked and everything was ‘fine’ for a lack of better words when we returned, it wasn’t my place.’ ‘I actually came to speak with Kallan, the council needs to be kept up to date,’ among other reasons to visit your favourite ruthless psychopath. I motioned for Alderic to follow, ‘As long as you can keep secrets, you’re welcome to join.’ ‘If I wasn’t, I’d be lying in
