~Faye

I run. With him behind me, with a gun, I stand no chance, but regardless, I run for my life. As fast as I can, too.

He pursues me, I can hear it. I can hear the thud against the ground as he chases after me. Why hasn’t he shot me yet? The thought pushes me to keep running, knowing I have no other choice but to keep as far from him as possible, even though it doesn’t look as if there is an end to this meadow in sight.

All of a sudden, my foot falls into a slight dip in the ground, and I go plummeting toward the ground. I steel myself for a face full of dirt and grass, and the breath to be knocked out of my lungs.

Instead, I fall straight through the ground, and into darkne

~FayeI’ve approached many difficult situations in my time as Alpha, but none amount of this.I’m standing at T’s doorstep, hand at the ready to knock on the door. However, I’m hesitating. It’s raining, but not a heavy kind of rain. It’s drizzly, the sky is grey, as it almost perfectly reflects my mood.I don’t want to be here.Come on Faye, you’re an Alpha, and no curly headed, irritatingly attractive guy who likes to let his garden grow out. My hand brushes away a wander vine that grows on the paint stripped banister as emphasis. Attempting to muster up enough courage, I breathe in deeply, and knock on the door.

~Faye“Have you forgiven me?”Ignoring him, I continue on my walk through the stacks, my eyes scanning for exactly what I’m looking for. I’m not sure what it is yet, but hopefully I will know when I see it. Cal follows behind me, right on my heels. If I had a little bit less self restraint, I may have turned around and slapped him.“I’m busy right now Cal,” I mutter irritably. In all honest, he’s the last person I want to see or talk to right now.“Come on,” he says, grabbing my arm. I flinch away from his grasp. “Faye.”I whirl around, holding the spot where

~Faye“Come to bed with me Faye.”I ignore the persistent complaints from T coming from the where he lays sprawled on the bed. He’s completely enveloped with this potion. I’m reading the instructions I was given on how to reverse this thing, passing while I do so, fingers shaking. In a single second, my entire life was brought to a halt, and turned around in the opposite direction.“Would you shut it, I’m trying to read this thing,” I mutter, trying to steady myself. Finally, at the bottom in the finest print, are small but imperative instructions on how to bring T out of this trance.“When’s our mat

~Faye“I need to get him back.”At this point, I’m pacing. Alden left in a mess of security and attempted words to soothe me. But I’m livid. I’m livid beyond belief, and I need to get T back. Not only because he is my mate, but because I have no idea of Alden’s intentions with him. For all I know, in this hour that has passed, Alden has killed T and gone on his way.The problem is, I don’t know what I’m dealing with. Alden has something against T that has not yet been shared with me. For all I know, it could be completely understandable. Or, it may not be.“Alpha, please calm down,” one of my guards soothes from the other side of my des

~FayeMy entire body is slumped against the wall, head in my hands.“You’re lying to me.”Alden sits across the room, slumped against the other side of the room to me. But the thoughts and emotions being processed in our minds is utterly different. He doesn’t seem fazed, simply waiting for me to get my bearings so we can move on with our conversation. And yet here I am, still not believing him.“I’m not,” Alden says softly. “And I think you are already aware of that, Faye.”Do I? A part of me thinks I am. The disappearing acts, the reaction of the Gaze Reader, the ominous aura

~FayeAlden’s instructions lead me to a suburban home on the outskirts of the town.I stare down at the crinkled note in my hand, the address to this home printed in Alden’s neat handwriting. This is definitely it. It seems strange though, surrounded by neighbouring homes, this doesn’t seem like the torture house I pictured in my mind.Pushing through the ajar gate with my hip, I wander warily up to the door. I would assume this was a trap, if I didn't know Alden so well. He wouldn’t be stupid enough to risk the life of the Alpha of Independence.Alden answered the door the moment my fist touched the door.

~FayeGrasping the styrofoam cup in my hand, I splash it across T’s face.It shocks him awake, but the moment he attempts to sit up, he falls back onto the bed again. He looks almost paralysed, his muscles seizing, his facial expression seemingly the only part of him that is moving. I kneel on his bed beside him, shaking his shoulders gently, hoping for something.“T, we need to get out of here,” I mutter frantically, glancing over my shoulder as if that woman might walk in at any second. His dark eyes shift to mine, no longer blank and devoid of attention. He is focusing on me. It takes a few minutes for him to completely come back to his senses. However, he doesn&

~Faye“Perfect.”My eyes are narrowed on T’s back, unsure of his intentions. Sure, he’s explained this to me, but I can hardly grasp the necessity of it. He asked for a space of clarity, that was open enough for him to get into his own head. I took him to an area my mother used to take me, when I had childlike energy I could waste in this endless field.T settles in the grass. I wander over and sit in front of him, curious about what this process is. Essentially, he is attempting to contact Thought first hand. So we can figure out who is messing with my head.“This environment is perfect,” T murmurs, grasping my hands. “I should be able to channel him di

~FayeI can’t lose T. There’s no way.All I can do is watch Asya place her hands on T’s face. She is concentrating beyond belief, and none of us here want to disrupt her. The silence, though, is deafening. T doesn’t move, and Asya doesn’t say a word. Instead, she closes her eyes, allowing her power to consume her.Almost as soon as she does that, she pulls away from him. We all watch her stand, straighten, and adjust herself.“He’s not dead,” Asya tells us. I let a deep breath out, feeling as though I could almost collapse from relief. He’s still with us. “Time didn’t want that. But he did leave him unconscious.”My legs shake from underneath me, threatening to fall out from under me. I can feel Micah grab my arm, steadying me. I would shoot him a thankful look, but I’m too busy staring at T. waiting for him to sit up and tell me he feels fine, and that Time didn’t hurt him. I want to hear it out of his mouth.“Does that mean everything is going to be okay?” I ask her. I’m desperate f

~FayeMy heart rate at the idea of meeting the siblings I never knew I had has spiked to unhealthy levels.“Come, don’t look nervous. They all want to meet you,” Micah tells me warmly.I’m nervous for a variety of reasons. Mainly because these people are immortals, and as much as they say I’m one too, it’s hard to relate to anyone of them. Especially since they all look so foreign and beautiful. And who knows what powers are accompanying them. They could either be the same as mine, or completely different.“I really can’t stay long though,” I tell both Sariah and Micah. I’m already anxious to be out of here as soon as possible. “I need to get back to T.”“That okay. I’m sure it won’t take too long,” Micah reassures me, despite my skepticism.I notice Sariah edging toward the end of the room, looking at me expectantly. “Exactly. Should I tell them to come in?”I’m not sure why I’m agreeing to this. I should meet them at some point though, considering they are the only family I have lef

~FayeThe emotions that consumed me ranged from various parts of me. Each building up into energy in the palms of my hands. I’m so furious I want to explode. Yet at the same time I’m so overwhelmed by what happened, I want to throw up in at my feet. All these feelings slam off the walls of my mind.“Get off me,” I scream. It’s a shrill sound that echo’s off the cliff. I slam my hands against his chest, pushing him off me with all the energy within me. “Get the hell away.”He stumbles away, the heel of his feet coming close to the edge of the cliff. One more hit and he would fall. Would he die? I highly doubt it. He would surely use his newly regenerated powers to reverse time and send me tumbling down instead. And by the unamused look on his face, he had that idea in his head too.“Woah there. I nearly fell,” he says, quirking his eyebrow.“Good. You deserve to suffer. And you will suffer,” I snap at him. I hate him. I want the worst for him. He deserves to burn and feel pain for his

~Faye I’m almost certain my heart has faltered. I’m on my knees, covering my ears as if that simple action could abolish the last few moments. I keep my eyes closed so tight, spirals in various colours cloud my vision. Thea lays dead only a few metres in front of me. And it’s all Time’s fault. He so ruthlessly murdered her, not even thinking twice about the life that he was taking. Peaking my eyes open for a moment, I scour the area. Jasper has disappeared, and sitting in the stroller is still Zayla. She remains blissfully unaware of what just happened to her mother. “Don’t look so solemn,” Time murmurs, his tone nothing but condescending. Noticing my eyes are now open, he steps closer, leaning down. He’s reaching for my shoulder, but I push back. “I’m free now. The job is done. Soon my power will be restored.”He looks so triumphant, so satisfied with his disgusting plan. I’m appalled at how heartless one can be. “Then leave. Get out of here,” I choke through tears. I can barely

~Faye I sit alone in the dining room, staring at the surface of my tea, which reflects back at me.Right now, I look like a mess. I’m distraught, not knowing where Time is taking my mate, and what his body may be returned to me as. I’ve been sipping at tea that is too hot, trying to think of a way halt whatever he has planned. It’s foolish of me to attempt, considering Time is an immortal more powerful than any. It’s early in the morning, and I haven’t slept at all. I can’t. Not when all this is going down. I won’t sleep until T is returned to me safely. I take another sip of the tea, ignoring the burn on my tongue. As I set it down, I hear the door to the room creak open. I glance over my shoulder, expecting a guard. Instead, I see a very impassive looking blue-haired immortal. “Fate?”He saunters over, sliding a chair out on the other side of the table to me. Immediately I notice there is no cocky smile on his face, and no taunting quirk of his eyebrow. He isn’t here to make a d

~Faye Everyone felt Time’s presence right after the few words he spoke. Yazzmine was the first to react. She backed away, nothing but utter fear expanding in her eyes. If anyone knows the full extent of Time’s power, it’s a Gaze Reader. They can look right into someone’s soul, and see the future, and their past. And the immortal who controls that, is Time.Everyone watches her reach her desk, which is covered in jars and glasses from full to empty. She digs her hands between them, looking for something.“Oh quit your fussing would you?” Time mutters, dismissing the frantic Gaze Reader, who seems to struggle in finding what she is looking for. She grimaces, visibly trying to ignore him. “You’re hardly the topic of discussion.”My voice is shaky. “Yazzmine, get out of here.”“I will not fear the most evil in this world. I will do everything to protect those who have done nothing, and are still punished by immortals like you,” she snaps, hands still prowling through the glasses.“I get

~Faye T kept strong to his promise. He isn’t leaving my side. The power wrapped around my mind lead me down the stairs, and out of my home. T kept a grasp on my hand, in case I made a run for it. As much as he is trying to stay strong right now, I can see the frown lines etched into his features, highlighted by the moonlight that guides us down the stairs. At least the power didn’t force me into a moving vehicle, which I hope means we won’t be straying far. If this person is in my Pack, I need to deal with it right now, before they become a danger to the members who live here. “Where do you think we are going?” I ask blindly, knowing the foolishness of the question, as we work our way down a familiar path T himself must have taken to get to my estate before. Fear has such a tight grip on me, I just need a little justification. “I think whoever is doing this to you finally wants to meet you,” T says, squeezing my hand warmly. Somehow, he makes it seem like we are strolling toward

~Faye My arms are crossed over my stomach, as I think.Recently, some of my most pressing problems have seemed non existent when I’m in the company of T. Perhaps it is because he has his own, which seem almost impossible to deal with. Two of the most powerful immortals are trapped in his head, and he acts as if it isn’t a problem. Now that I am apparently Temperance, a Virtue in the eyes of the Moon, I’m curious to discovering my own power. However, that doesn’t seem likely while I’m attempting to track down who has been messing with my head. As much as I don’t trust Cal, and would rather see him dead then near me, it would be nice to have his skills right now. All of a sudden, the curtain quivers, and I hear the sound of my window creaking open.I sit up in bed, each muscle tense as I ready myself to jump out to defend myself against whoever is clambering through my window. A dark figure steps in; I catch a glance at their feet first before they pull the curtain back. Relief inst

~Cal I grip a piece of obsidian rock between my fingers, chipping away at it. It’s the only rock I use for my arrowheads. It ensures the job is done, having the lowest chance of being damaged once it hits its target. Once again, these arrows I’m creating will be used for real target. Not just a tree, or a small animal. This is for Alpha Faye. I stand, admiring the finished arrowhead. I place it on a small cloth with the rest of them, brushing my hands off as I do so. There are enough there for all her guards, if it comes to that. It shouldn't do. I know her home like the back of my hand. I’ll sneak in, and out, with no trace. And end it all. Just like I did to her mother. There is one thing in the way, though. T, her mate. I knew that was the case, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t keep him away from her. And even my attempt to get her to fall for me didn’t work as I planned. If he is there tonight, there is no way I can get to her. His power is significant over mine. I
