But she knew her son better. He hated pretenses. Whatever he did, it was due to the face saving of his parents.
Taking excuse from her guests she left the hall too. Just to follow them. Her son was upset. He was not happy. But right now she did not have a choice. Did she?
She did saw them talking about something. He even touched Aurelia’s chin. She was at some distance so could not tell if it was friendly chat or not. But when Ezequiel left her, she seemed disappointed.
When Aurelia walked away Maria quickly went towards his chambers.
