Aveline

It was all a lot.

I felt a spark of anger ignite within me, but Draven continued, his voice unwavering. "You think I was at fault in the past? Fine." He paused, his chest rising with a deep breath.

"But do you think it's a good thing that you're letting your emotions get in the way of everything that has to do with me?" He laid emphasis on the "me," his voice tinged with a hint of regret. For a fleeting moment, I saw a glimmer of vulnerability in his eyes, a crack in the armor that had once seemed impenetrable but I didn't let it get to me at all since it was gone the second it appeared.

"Coming from someone who called me his whore, coming from someone who said I'm nothing but a tool to satisfy his sexual urges." The memories came flooding back, and I felt a wave of anger wash over me. It would have reduced me to tears eight years ago, but now it only fueled my rage.

I shut my eyes, my fists clinched as those painful moments he'd caused me had become the fuel that powered my

DravenFurious, Draven gritted his teeth as he watched Aveline walk out of the room, her little hand clasped softly in Kade's wide and long hand. The sight ignited a firestorm of rage within him. He rose from the table, his movements swift and menacing. With a savage kick, he sent the chair closest to him crashing on the floor. The sound of a splintering chair echoed through the room as he unleashed his fury upon the helpless chair, smashing it into unrecognizable fragments. His eyes blazed with an intensity that made fury seem like an understatement."Fuck!" he bellowed, his voice thundering off the walls. He ran his hands through his hair, pulling at the strands as if trying to rip them from his scalp. His chest heaved with ragged breaths, his entire body trembling with unrestrained anger."DAMN!" he yelled again, the sound echoing through the room like a curse. He paced back and forth, his long strides devouring the distance as he struggled to contain the tempest raging within him.

DravenHis eyes widened twice their size when he read the text. And instinctively, he turned off his phone and turned it back on to be sure he saw it right or it was just his obsession over the matter.Maybe he had begun to hallucinate, but when the text was still there, he knew it was real.He looked around quickly and returned his gaze to the device, maybe someone was messing with him? He wouldn't know until he replied to the texter and so he did."Who are you?" He typed in response.'One needs to be sure who's on the other end. Can't go chatting off strangers who might just want to extort and blackmail.' He thought with a shrug and waited rather impatiently for a response. The constant tapping of his feet sold him off."Come on, reply to the text." He muttered with his thumb in between his lips.He wasn't expecting any information from anyone who wasn't the police as it stood, apart from the guards he'd put to look after Betty, nothing was going on but for a strange number to text

DravenDraven's eyes widened in shock as he stared at the photograph in his hand. Emily, the woman he had once thought was his mate, stood intimately close to a man in a rival pack which he knew all too well. His index finger trembled with rage as he touched the man's face in the picture. For a moment, Draven's mind doubted the authenticity of the photographs. Could they be part of a rival pack's plan to manipulate him? But as he looked deeper into the image, his doubts began to fade."Are you still doubting it?" his wolf asked, its voice laced with a low, mocking chuckle. "You remember him, don't you?"Draven's grip on the photograph tightened, his knuckles turning white with tension. He nodded, his voice barely above a whisper. "Yes, yes, I still remember him."The memory of Matthias's treachery came flooding back, and Draven's anger surged to the surface. He rose to his feet, his fists clenched so tightly that his veins began to bulge."Just like you never forgot," his wolf growled

DravenIt all felt surreal hearing the words that came out of Emily's mouth. She tried to deny the accusations at first but couldn't say anything when she saw the evidence Draven threw at her.To think that she was not a member of a strong pack like he'd been forced to believe or a reputable wolf at the very least, she was from a goddessdamn rogue pack. And to think that he mistreated Aveline, his true mate because of the spells she had put him under made his stomach recoil.Draven felt the strong urge to strangle the woman standing before him until her lungs gave out but he needed to hear more, he needed to hear what she had to say."So you're a witch? You poisoned my mind and blocked me from perceiving the scent of my true mate? You separated from my true mate all these years and claimed to love me!" Draven growled, his eyes red with anger as he made a mental picture of how many times he'd pushed Aveline away all in the hope that Emily was his true mate."I do love you Draven, and

"Banishing her was the best thing you could do," she came to an abrupt stop. "Were you going to kill her? Because if you do, then that would put you and everything you have at risk." Draven furrowed his brows as he turned to Beatrice. "Risk? You think killing her would put me at risk?" He had a devilish smile on his face. "I never had any intention of killing her though." "Then?" Beatrice's hands rested on her waist, her eyes never leaving Draven's face as she awaited his response. The silence stretched out, thick with tension, before she continued. "If Emily is a spy, then you should know her pack is still out there. I don't think you should do something rash, Draven."A soft exhale escaped Draven's lips as he walked back to his chair, his hands tucked deep into his pockets. His eyes seemed to

DravenHe returned back to his office after thinking long and hard about going to meet Aveline."It might seem too soon." Draven whispered to himself and sat down with a sigh of frustration.Sitting still on the chair with an obviously bored look on his face, Draven tore his gaze from the person that was currently speaking and looked further away. His eyes locate that one person, the only reason why he has decided to attend the current conference that was still ongoing. Aveline. He has questions to ask, one that had been bothering him for quite a while, ever since he laid his eyes on that news. The news that shattered his heart. He had always felt that Aveline was within his grasp, within his reach, but that doesn't seem to be the situation any longer. Draven couldn't help but feel that this was all his fault, he had been the cause of this, right from the beginning, he had been deceived by Emily. The hatred

The cool evening breeze swept across my skin and it made me shiver slightly. It's been eight years or more since I stepped foot in the massive compound and it was no doubt my doing that unlocked memories.Memories I never knew even happened replayed as the cool breeze brushed against my skin.My attention shifted swiftly from the beautiful wildflowers that were in bloom to the door when I heard the door open and my chest hurt when I saw Draven's figure at the door.He was simply dressed but I wished that moment that he be arrested because there was no way he looked so damn good in a regular T-shirt and pants."I thought you wouldn't make it." He smiled at me from the door and my heart ached a bit from beholding the beauty of his face. His white set of teeth was beautifully arranged to fit his face and as he smiled he looked like those superstars smiling for the camera.Gosh. This was a bad idea."I'm a

We even denied the kids civilization and he still found us." He raged."What are you going to do about it?" All I needed to do was ask. He had already made the resolve in his mind and as he shifted his gaze to me, I knew that we were fighting the Lycans together. We all stormed out of the forest. The plan was to get to Draven's pack, regroup and go to war and so we did.Luckily, none of Julian's men were outside the clan so we were able to pass through, following the bush paths. We had no means of transportation other than our legs but we were pretty fast. AvelineA sharp pain in my head made me force my eyes open. I'd been having lots of weird dreams that I couldn't wake up from no matter how hard I tried. It was strange since I knew that it was all a dream but it was as though someone or something was at the door between real life and dreamland, shutting the door to real life whenever I got so close and forcing me back to dreamland. The dreams were about my wolf, the first time I felt her. Which was strange. I never had a dream about V, and now I was having countless, recurring dreams about her. How we fought Sofia, for the first time. I won.How I threatened Sofia, how brave I felt having her with me, defeating Scar and becoming Alpha. And how I lost her. My days in the dungeon, the hallucinations and torture. Then back to a powerless and helpless Aveline working as a secretary, reeking of sweat and the scent of cheap roll-on that has changed to something else due to the excess work I was occupied with. The insults, humiliation and

Mason"What is this place?" He whispered. The crystals glistened more with the lightening of the place. She did not reply to him. Typical. Instead, she walked into one of the corners of the cave where a stream sat.The stream wasn't flowing, it was more like a stale pool but it's water was so clear that Mason could see the pores on his facial skin"What is this? Why did you bring me here?' He asked, all the more confused."Tis the place my ancestors stored their valuables." She replied and went mute again.Okay, now, this was scary. "I want her to have it. This is the reason I'm still alive. They will not let me go until I do what they have instructed and they say I should give this to her." She spoke again after her silence almost killed Mason. "I have watched you, you are a good wolf. You will protect her. It's your life duty. And you will make sure she has these things." She finished. Mason's eyes fluttered, as he tried to understand what he was told."Who is she? Why did they

Mason"Don't touch that." The healer, or witch or whatever she was called said when Mason wanted to examine a statue in her living room. The living room was used for most of her practices. It was a large room with wide corners that held tables, in some and statues in some with incense burning out from them."Uh, sorry?" Mason replied, drawing his hands back to himself. "Follow me." She bellowed and he gasped with uncertainty. She had barely spoken to him since he showed up with Aveline. She didn't even ask him what happened to her.She just tapped on the closest table and had Mason lay her on it. Ethan tried to speak but she grunted angrily and he figured it was best to let the witch do her job. After taking long hours on Aveline, the men grew tired and settled in front of her hut. They were exhausted from their long journey and it did not help as she wasn't speaking to them. She also did not need their help which had them standing there, watching her perform what was alien to them.

Kade"W- what are you doing?" Betty asked confusion spread over her face as Kade began to bind her hands and legs."You just wait, my dear. Trust your uncle now will you?" He faked a smile and tied up the last piece of rope."Where's my mom?" She asked again, her voice shaking with each word."There are some things you don't know about your mom Betty. Your mom has done some bad things to me but it's not a problem anymore, because I have you now." Kade smiled.Betty pressed her back against the frame of the chair but it was too late to escape now. "Your mom is not here. I'm sure you've figured that out by now." Kade continued"But I plan to put you in her place. She's owing me a great deal and I don't like to be owed."Betty broke into tears. Not because she was standing in for her mom but because she disobeyed Draven. He would be all over the place looking for her."Can you call Draven, and tell him that I am safe?" She asked amidst tears of regret.Kade squinted as a smug smile cros

His last ticket to getting what he wanted in life."Hey pretty..." he greeted but Betty changed direction and walked back towards the class. He chased after her. His niece was not out yet so he had some time with Betty before she stepped out. "Hey, hey, what is it?" He asked nervously when he caught up to her.The little girl had an unreasonable expression on her face and it made Kade all the more suspicious. "Didn't you see me waving at you? Why did you turn around? Are you not happy to see me?" Kade threw question after question, desperate for answers. But Betty just stared at him while she tried to free herself from his grasp."What is wrong huh? Did Uncle do something wrong? Why are you not talking to me?" He continued
