“Come on Ash, just tell me!”

“Jax was working with Hayden!”

“No, no” he steps back from me, shaking his head in denial when he suddenly grabs my shoulders, his eyes burning into my own, “Please tell me that you are lying?!”

“It might not be true.” I whisper, dropping my eyes, uncomfortable by the way he looked at me.

“It’s why you are so odd around him, it’s why you seem to have more anxiety. Is that why you punched him? Sorry, why Reaper hit him?”

I bite my lip, slowly nodding. Feeling sick that Jax was probably in the packhouse somewhere, after all, he did live here.

“Not everyone is out to get you Ashley!”

I snort because that was just it, everyone had wanted me dead in some way. Even my own best friend had hated me in the end.

“Then why is Lucian the only one being honest with me right now?”

“What do you mean? I haven’t lied to you!”

“Yes you have, you didn’t even tell me you were going to your parents until after!” I try to keep Reaper under control, and I guess as we started sho

I stare at the scene from my hiding spot in the shadows, how was it that she looked exactly how I imagined and yet Lucian didn’t. Anyway, there was no time to think about that as Reaper whispers, asking what the human was doing.“It’s Tasha” I mutter back, watching as she approached the vampires, her gun aiming at them the entire time but the man she called father, he had fallen silent, and I just knew he was already gone, humans could not survive that much blood lost. The vampires laugh, they were not ones that I had seen before, their laughs grow into full belly rumbles, and one moves, faster than the human eye could see, grabbing the gun and holding it against Tasha’s throat, trying to strangle her.I hear her splutter as the air is knocked out of her. I should help her but yet I find myself hesitating, watching as she brings her leg up behind her, smacking the vampire in the groin. His grip on the gun loosens enough for Tasha to get out under it.“You vampires think you are invinc

I think carefully over my answer, Reaper tells me that I’m stupid if I tell the truth and I guess on some level she is right because no one else believed me at first, so why would Tasha? Some time must have passed because she frowns at me.“Well? Are you going to answer me?”“It’s complicated!” I sigh, hoping it would be enough to stop her from asking.“Complicated? Yeah right. If I point my gun at your face, would it still be complicated then?”“You said I kept coming to you in a dream? Well, what if you are not completely wrong? What if I tell you we have lived a life, what if I tell you we are…were best friends?”She looks at me like I have the lost the plot, she looks up at the ceiling, shaking her head.“Do you know something Ashley? My dad always said to expect the unexpected when it comes to wolves and the rest of you. So tell me, because I am all ears!”“Don’t” Reaper mutters at me, “You will only get us in more trouble than what we are already in. Daryl’s going to be pissed w

Chapter NineteenThere was no Daryl, no Tasha as I look around. Instead, a tall man with whiter than white hair was stood a few metres in front of me. His red eyes gazing at me as my royal name rolls from his tongue.“Rudina, what did you do?” he asks again. The metallic smell of blood fills my nose and I find myself looking at my blood coated hands. Blood drips from my fingers and as I look down, I’m shocked. A woman with hair like fire lays dismembered on the ground of the forest. A pool of blood growing around her limbs.“Rudina. Look at me. What did you do?” he sounds agitated. His cold hands begin shaking my shoulders. The more he shakes, the more I feel like I am falling. My body dropping through the air even though I could see my feet were on the ground.“Rudina snap out of it. We need to get you out of here!”His voice was fading until I could hear nothing. Instead, I was surrounded by darkness, unable to move.“Ashley, come on Ashley. Can you hear me?!”“What’s the matter wit

“You have no fucking right Daryl” Christian bellows as he continues to try and break through whatever is holding him in the house.“It could be worse, I could have you thrown in the dungeons, let you rot.”Christian was outraged, his nostrils flaring as he shakes his head. His foot taps on the floor as he lets out a growl, focussing on Daryl.“You better start talking Daryl. Tell me why you have done this?”“It’s not me that needs to talk. I have already told you to go home and yet you are still here. Why?”Christians gaze shifts to me.“Are you going to tell him or shall I?”“I don’t know what you are talking about” I shrug my shoulders. I had just been trying to stay away from him as much as I could.“Don’t try and act all innocent Rudina!”“Stop calling me that!” I didn’t want to be known by that name anymore. His eyes roll as he shoves his hands in his pockets.“Do you want me to skip the part that we are mated as well?”Daryl stiffens. Fear floods through me. This just couldn’t b

“Are you joking?” I stare at Lucian like he had lost the plot.“I am most certainly not! After everything, how are you surprised that this could be a possibility?”“Mates, at the same time?” I needed him to be clear that it was what he was suggesting.“You were mated in your visions, correct?”I nod my head biting my lip, trying to remember everything.“But I rejected Daryl. I know there is a second chance mate, but at the same time? It just doesn’t seem right!”“It may not seem right, but it would appear you have something in common with Amber.” He shakes his head frowning.“Amber has more than one mate?”“Yes, though she has five.”“Five mates?”“The last I had heard. What’s the matter with your hip?”I glance down, not noticing that I had been massaging it. The wound from Christian had healed but it still ached.“Nothing.” I tut, dropping my hand.Lucians eyes narrow as he tilts his head.“I cannot protect you if you do not tell me sister.”So now he wanted to play the big brother

“You want to mark me? Why?” I wasn’t trying to sound like I had an attitude, it was just how it came out.“Why?! Don’t you want to survive, don’t you want to live your life?”“I didn’t mean it like that. I mean why now? Before, the wolfsbane made it impossible. Since it has been out of my system, you haven’t even tried, so why now?”“It may not seem like, but I don’t want to lose you again.”Daryl was constantly sending me mixed messages. I never knew whether I was coming or going with him.“How will marking me save my life?” I didn’t think a mate bond could be that powerful.“It is rumoured that a mate can draw on their partners ability to heal. Reaper doesn’t seem to be able to help so let me. I won’t force you Ash, this is your choice.”I sit staring at him, not quite sure how to process his words. If I was truly cursed, could he help me heal? It didn’t seem likely, not if Reaper couldn’t stop the curse. Plus Daryl had his own curse to worry about.Daryl watches me carefully.“You

Unable to answer him, I lean my body against his chest. It just didn’t make sense. If I was dying, how was I having visions? And what did that man say? My mate was Christian? “You’re okay Ash, you are okay!” His arms tighten around me, his cheek resting against mine as he held me close. “For the moment.” I hear Lucian groan. I flash my eyes in his direction and he raises an eyebrow at me but keeps his mouth closed. The cold water continues to run over Daryl and I. His chest rising and falling in the same rhythmic pattern as my own. From here I could see my arms, the purplish bruising on my arms was blackening and I wriggle my fingers to make sure I could still move them. “A cursed mate marking another cursed mate.” Lucian tuts “Did you find who it was?” Daryl questions Lucian, but keeps his arms around me, refusing to let me out of his grasp. “No, but I believe my sister may already know who it is that has cursed her.” “Huh?” I turn my head properly to look at him. A few months has passed since all the craziness with Lucian. Things had settled down massively, well, apart from being thrown into motherhood and raising triplets. I was just glad I wasn’t doing it on my own.Daryl was still getting used to having a smaller pack. Although he had already been out trying to recruit other packs that were smaller than ours. Some had accepted whereas others had told him where to go. The pack was still much smaller than the average wolf pack with less than a hundred people now after many had lost their lives in the fight against my brother, but he was certain he would make it great again. After all, he really wanted to pass on an almighty pack to Daryl Junior, the eldest of the triplets. In just a few months the three of them had grown quite quickly, instead of being like three-month-olds, they looked more like eighteen month olds and certainly liked to keep me busy and on my toes, especially since they were already walking and running. I assumed they were

More bullets come as I keep low, the stench of Lucian’s blood filling the air as he hovers above me. With each bullet, I am splattered in his blood, but it continues to do little more than slow him down.“You have not learnt a thing!” he roars at me as his claws wrap around my neck, lifting me from the ground.I should have been afraid, scared for my own life as I faced death when he suddenly stills. My feet dangling in the air at least ten inches from the ground. His deep amber eyes staring into mine, but he was quiet, no sound was coming from Lucian and yet everyone around us was yelling. His claws pierced the skin of my neck, my own blood trickling down over my cool skin as I watched Lucian’s nostrils flare. He was enjoying my scent, like it was something he had been longing for. This was not in my plan. His teeth sink into my shoulder as I let out a scream, and I see people charging towards Lucian. Daryl was shouting out something about protecting the Luna.Lucian’s jaw refuses to

“I will stop this.” I try to reassure the tiny beast in my arms, but I still didn’t know if I could even kill him, if it was even possible.“She will never be yours!” Lucian’s voice howls around us making Natasha’s little beast cling to me harder. Her tiny claws piercing my skin as they dug into me, her body trembling as his voice echoes around us.“Drop the spell.” I whisper to the small beast. Lucian was using her to put the spell around the dungeons, to stop others from getting any closer, but she was still a baby, could she even understand what I was saying? Could my reassurance be enough? Her small furry body continues to tremble against mine until it suddenly stops, momentarily scaring the crap out of me. When I hear soft snuffles coming from her and gently turn her head. She had fallen asleep on me. She had gone from a terrified little beast to one in a deep sleep, she had needed me so much more than I had ever known, and I feel a shift inside of me. The need to protect her, no

“It’s not that simple is it. I may have some magical abilities, but he still has years over me. Years of training, years of knowledge, years of planning what he calls his redemption.”“But there is something he possibly didn’t account for. A mother’s love, a mate’s love. The fact that a whole pack will be right behind you.”It just didn’t seem true. Maybe I had been looking at this all wrong and it wasn’t just my fight anymore.“Then how am I supposed to make myself stronger?”“You already know Ash, look at the things you have been capable of. Personally, I don’t think you give yourself enough credit.”I was completely soaked from the heavy rain as I stared up into his amber eyes, the blue flecks shining brightly through the storm. It wasn’t just me that had changed but it seemed like he had too. His once sulky and moody self had mellowed out.“What ever happens Ash, you have three babies that need you.”I slowly bob my head, he was right, but I had still left them to check on my best

No one stops me, no one even comes after me as I race through the forest towards her house. She had to be here, it was where it had all started. As I break out of the forest, I see it, her small house sitting on the opposite side of the road. A trail of blood leading up the few steps as the door sat open. Anyone could walk in here, anything could have found her.Creeping towards the house, I knew the trail of blood belonged to her. It was dry though and had been sat here for a while, but it didn't remove her scent.“Tasha?” I call out her name as I step in through the front door, hoping for some kind of response but I was met with silence and what was worse is the trail of blood ended in the middle of the room. There was nothing, no body, no pool of dried red, but more importantly there was no sound. The floorboards didn’t creak like I was used to, no weird smell from all the herbal teas she had scattered around.“Can you hear her?” I mutter to Reaper. The omega keeps her head low, not speaking as she remained in the room. She was our biggest risk right now; she was the only one to know that I had had a third baby and I couldn’t have her revealing that information, not to anyone.“You can’t say anything!” I plead with her, hoping that she would understand.“They need to be checked over.” She mumbles back at me and Daryl shakes his head“Kiera, you cannot tell anyone, you cannot share the news of Ash having a third child. Do you understand?” He was using his Alpha tone, a tone that I was only to familiar with. The omega gulps, her eyes wide as she slowly nods her head.“I need you to say it Kiera!”“I won’t tell anyone, but how are you going to hide her, what if she is a poorly pup?”Daryl looks between me and the omega as I gently rock our little girl.“Kiera, you will become Ashley’s personal maid. You will do nothing else in the house except for helping Ash and tending to the children and monitoring any changes in them!”“But the

“For you!” Lucian punches the stone wall of his cell, splitting the skin on his knuckles which heals instantly.“I don’t understand”“Of course you don’t sister.” He laughs manically as he tries to pull the bars apart. I was glad Daryl had reinforced them.“You weren’t to know I was going to have children.”He looks at me from the corner of his eye. I was so stupid, I had told him of the vision, the one where I was left alone with twins, the one where Daryl was not in the picture. How could I have been so stupid?“You told me that not all visions were correct that some were just created in my own mind!”“Yes, but I saw that vision too, sister. Getting into your head was much easier than you trying to get into mine. Any time your wolf was dormant, it left an opening. A chance for me to see everything!”“Just kill him Ash” Daryl links me"Whicjh is why you wanted Amber to trap me?"He starts clapping."About time you figured that out."“You would never have found me without Daryl!” I ye

The omega hands her to me, she was much smaller than the boys with tufts of dark hair that matched Daryl’s, bright amber eyes peeping out under her eyelids.I still didn’t understand, the doctor had shown me the monitor, pointed out the two boys, how could he have missed a third baby or even a third heartbeat.Silent tears run down my face as I look at the three of them, how could I protect them? How could I protect my daughter from my brother? He was so set on taking her.“You did well.” The omega smiles at me as she drapes something over my legs, but I glance at the door. I had a bad feeling growing in the pit of my stomach.“He’s coming.” I mutter. There is fear on the omegas face as her eyes widen and her body stills.“You’re scared of him?”“Every omega is.” She sits next to me.“You know I’m not talking about Daryl, don’t you?”She nods her head and mutters Lucian’s name back to me.“What did he do to you?”He didn’t have anything to do with the omegas.“You don’t know?” she que

It was strange after experiencing Amber's world!Being able to run through Lucian’s mind with his beast chasing me was something I had never considered happening, nor did I think it was even possible and yet here I am. To be in someone’s mind was almost disgusting, you never know what they might be hiding and it was apparent that Lucian had been hiding alot.I had never bothered to ask the name of his beast, but something tells me it’s up there like mine. Reaper, another name for death and she certainly did have a dark side.“Tell me where she is!” I scream as I continue to run.“Give us your daughter!”“I have already told Lucian, they are boys, no females.”“You lie! I can smell it. You are carrying a girl!”Here I had no bump, if anything my stomach was flatter than flat. Was this how Lucian really saw me?He chases me through the greyness of Lucians mind. There was no colour, like he only saw things a certain way. Anytime I get a chance to grab something to throw, I do. Lucian con
