Vlad walked into the mansion, his steps heavy and deliberate as he headed straight to his chambers. He knew that without his explicit permission, no one was allowed to enter his chambers, meaning the slave, April, was still lying there. As soon as he entered, the sight of her unconscious in a pool of her own blood made his heart skip a beat. He brushed off the feeling and quickly bent down to lift her into his arms. For the first time in his life, he was carrying a woman, let alone a slave.
