April walked into Lucifer’s chambers, balancing the tray in her hands. Her heart raced, each step feeling like it took a lifetime. The room was dimly lit, the only light coming from the glow of the fireplace. Lucifer sat at his desk, engrossed in some papers, but the moment she entered, he looked up, his sharp eyes narrowing as they met hers.

There was an eerie silence between them as she approached, placing the tray carefully on the table. She could feel his gaze on her, scrutinizing every detail, every movement. It made her skin prickle with unease, and she fought to keep her expression neutral.

But Lucifer didn’t miss the sadness in her eyes, the way her hands trembled slightly as she set down the tray. He leaned back in his chair, folding his arms as he studied her. "What’s wrong with you?" he asked, his voice cool but laced with curiosity. "You look like you’ve seen a ghost."
