Chapter 20

Lucifer left his chambers and headed out of the mansion. The drive to the pharmacy was silent, the hum of the engine the only sound accompanying his racing thoughts. He didn't understand why he was doing this—getting drugs and creams for April. It was unlike him, a man who thrived on causing pain and reveling in darkness. Yet here he was, parking in front of a small pharmacy.

He walked in, the bell above the door chiming softly. The pharmacist, an older woman with kind eyes, greeted him.

"Good afternoon, sir. How can I help you today?"

Lucifer hesitated for a moment before responding. "I need some painkillers and a tube of cream that can clear scars."

The pharmacist nodded and quickly gathered the items. As she rang them up, Lucifer pulled out his phone and tried calling his brother again. This time, to his surprise, Mikhail answered.

"Where the hell have you been?" Lucifer demanded, his voice a mix of anger and relief.

"Calm down, Vlad. I needed some time to think," Mikhail replied,
