Chapter 74 - "Silver has no effects on me."

Dalton’s point of view:

“Lucas,” I exclaimed, closing the short distance between us.

“How is that possible? You’re like us… you’re our kind. How is it possible that silver has no effect on you like it has on us?”

“Look, there’s something I have to tell you –”

“What is it about?” I interrupted, my patience wearing thin.

“You know that I was banished from my pack for being different. I’m just not like other werewolves. And me not being affected by silver in any way, made my pack see me like I was an abomination…” He trailed off, deep in thought about his past experiences.

There was a faint glint of pain that flashed through his eyes for a second. It was gone as quickly as it had appeared. The determination in his eyes overpowered the small revelation of the pain he’d suppressed for years.

“I’ll head in,” Lucas stated, stepping by me to walk further down the tunnel.

I held his right shoulder to stop him. “But, what if Cassandra sends another warning through pictures again? I can’t tell

Her discomfort rapidly got to me.‘Someone is coming!’ It wasn’t my inbred wolf who replied. It was the other one, the one I was still getting used to.‘You were here all this time? Why didn’t you say anything?’ I asked her.‘Now is not the time to talk about that. I’m telling you, someone is heading our way.’ She warned me, her voice alarming. Bracing myself, I borrowed my back further back into the chair I was tied to as I stared at the door which was about to open at any seconds now. What was I supposed to do? Was I really ready to face whoever’s coming for me?Instead of letting those questions bother me; I took in a deep breath and waited fearlessly for the door to be pushed open.I wasn’t alone. Cassandra’s point of view: “It’s been a while, Cassandra.” Marcus strolled inside the room. “I missed you.” Huffing, I rolled my eyes and looked away from him, clenching my jaw. The sight of him bothered me but I didn’t want to show him that his presence affected me. Knowing him, he’d be pleased to know that his mere presence affected me. He’d do anything just to infuriate me. I guess he liked annoying people. “I got it from here, Tyler.” He nodded not so gratefully at the man who had kidnapped me. Tyler tugged his hands in his back pockets, shrugged indifferently and left the room but not before giving me a flirty wink. The guts of this guy is unbelievable. Marcus didn’t notice it since he had his back to him. Also, his attention was solely focused on me. I didn’t like the way he was staring at me though. I shifted uncomfortably under his stare. The lecherous look on his face alerted me about his bad intentions. I stopped fiddling with the ropes which had me tied to the arms of

Cassandra’s point of view:My eyes caught onto some movement from behind them. It was Tyler. He was leaning against the doorframe with a smirk playing across his lips seemingly finding what he was watching quite interesting.Feeling my stare, he met my gaze from across the room and winked at me. I pursed my lips, rolling my eyes at him and looked to the side.“You sister…? Cassandra is your sister?” Marcus gaped at Lucas, his eyes switching from him to me and then back to him as though to see whether we had some kind of resemblance which we actually do now that I was really looking at Lucas, like really checking him out.Like me, he had two tiny moles on his left temple, more so on his left eyelid. How the hell did I not notice that before?“No shit, Sherlock!” Lucas exclaimed, more snappy and irritated at Marcus. It looked like he was so done with Marcus’s behavior and attitude, wanting nothing else but to kill him for once and for all.“Well, I didn’t know my chosen mate has a broth

Dalton’s point of view:Shoving the man to the side, I seized him around the throat with the same wires attached to the machine to prevent him from saying any kind of invocations out loud.Wrapping the wires tightly around his throat, I squeezed hard enough to feel his windpipe give way under my fingers. I ignored the sparks travelling through the wires and burning my palms. I only hoped that this bastard would feel the torturous shocks more so than I was.He struggled, scrabbling weakly against my hand, the wires of the machine tangling as he flailed about. The rage that had been building in me exploded. I bared my teeth at the man, ready to kill him right there and then.Something flashed in my mind – a sensation that washed over me like peace. There was scent that I would know from anywhere – Cassandra. Something flickered at the corner of my eye. I turned my head. She was there – an image of her – floating like a memory in my vision. She was beautiful as ever, edged in a silver li

  • Alpha Dalton   Chapter 79 - The black wolf in my dream!

Cassandra’s point of view:I was surrounded by mist. It rose up from the ground in wisps, cold and clammy, wrapping around my legs like silk. It was dark. I took a step forward, felt a branch against my face and realized that I was in a forest… in the dark forest.I immediately thought of the Moon Howlers and their secret hide-out. This is a dream, I thought. The same dream… always the same dream that’s been troubling me for a week now… ever since I was rescued from their secret hide-out. I already knew what would be behind me at this point. I could sense its paws, thudding softly on the invisible ground. I looked over my shoulder, but the mist had risen, hiding the wolf from my view.I began to run, the forest becoming solid around me as my feet struck the soiled ground. I held my arms up, pushing branches out of the way, running, running and running…Maybe I should just stop this time and face the wolf, I thought. What was the point of running away each time I felt the wolf’s prese

  • Alpha Dalton   Chapter 80 - Primordials existed for a purpose on earth.

Cassandra’s point of view: Lucas was right. To celebrate our small victory, the pack prepared a feast for us. Most of the pack members detested Marcus. They already supported their Alpha when it came to the differences existing between Dalton and Marcus. When they learnt that Marcus was really dead this time, they were relieved. Marcus had grown such an obsession for the Alpha’s position that he became more and more malicious over the years. He’d been very arrogant and menacing towards the pack members of lower ranks. Although Marcus left behind a void within the pack, one which would only be filled once a new Beta takes his place beside Dalton, the pack members weren’t as affected as when he was announced dead prior to his escape. Marcus was a threat to the Alpha position but now that Dalton had wiped out this threat, we’ve got to think about the danger about to loom all over us soon… the Moon Howlers and not to forget, those zombies… But wouldn’t Dalton need a Beta by his side

  • Alpha Dalton   Chapter 81 - A meet-up in the woods!

Dalton’s point of view: Walking around the car parked in the driveway and heading toward the pack house, I caught a glimpse of something colorful out of the corner of my eye, over near the edge of the woods. Curious, I glanced over just in time to see a figure dressed in a bright red sundress disappear into the trees. I got more curious when I caught a whiff of her enticing scent. I’d recognize that woman anywhere. Why was she going into the woods? I wondered. She must be going for a walk or maybe even for a run to ease the tension she’d been feeling all week. I didn’t even think about following her. She might want to be alone. I’ve been busy all week trying to sort through the mess we created back in the Moon Howlers’ secret hide-out. No one except that bloody warlock who disappeared knew that we were the ones who almost blew out their secret hide-out. It seemed like he didn’t tell the Moon Howlers anything yet. They just brought Marcus’s burnt body over to the pack the day af

Dalton’s point of view:…neither of us hesitated before diving together in a hot, hungry kiss. Our tongues met and mates, swirling and exploring. After not having tasted her for a week, I felt like I was finally ending a hunger strike. She provided all the nourishment I needed, her sweet taste heightened by her sultry woman’s smell and her scent… oh dear! Her scent was to die for… my wolf couldn’t stay put. He dominantly fought for control but I refused to give him any access. Not today… not when I was kissing her after a whole week.Cassandra shimmied even closer, and I braced a hand behind her, on the tree trunk, to keep them stable as the kiss continued. Everything else disappeared – time, place, the pup, the cat, Marcus’s death and the worries about the impending danger the Moon Howlers posed on us. All of it… well at least for a little while. Finally, though, when my body was throbbing with need to do a lot more than a kiss, I slowed things down because as much as I wanted to con

  • Alpha Dalton   Chapter 95 - All's well that ends well

Cassandra’s point of view: Dalton saw red and impulsively dashed across to punch Levi in the face but Levi raised his hand and with one flick of his finger, Dalton was sent soaring back in the air.He landed flat on his back, his head brutally hitting the ground, knocking him out cold. A pool of blood soon formed around his upper body.Levi must have used an incantation on Dalton.Seeing this, I felt a burst of negative energy but instead of acting on my own; I clenched my hands and gritted my teeth together to hold still.Dalton would be alright. I could still feel our mate bond. But, the mere thought that he was left stranded over there on the ground, took everything in me not to run to his help.Hecate and Levi’s eyes were fixed on me. I knew better than to let myself get distracted by them at this point. They played with us for ten years but I won’t let them play with us anymore. They might find it amusing to see true mates being apart but I’d show them what an enraged mate could

Cassandra’s point of view: “I don’t like this… the moment Alpha Dalton told me that we’d be following this witch’s directions; I wasn’t ready at all but…” Alpha Maddox complained. “I don’t like it one bit.”“Neither do I, Alpha Maddox.” Alpha Eric whispered, agreeing with the old man. “But what are we supposed to do? She may not be one of our kind, but she has always helped Alpha Blaze.”Shoving his hands into his pockets, Alpha Eric added with a resolute shrug, “As long as she doesn’t betray us, I guess we’d be alright.”Everyone could hear them talking… even Patricia but she didn’t seem like she gave a fuck about their opinions.I pursed my lips at the two Alphas and looked at Dalton. ‘Don’t you think we made a mistake asking Alpha Maddox to come along with us?’‘He can be a bit orthodox but –’‘A bit…?’ I arched an eyebrow at my mate.‘Okay, I’ll be honest… he’s the most orthodox Alpha I’ve ever known but he’s also one of the most experienced one among us. • Alpha Dalton   Chapter 93 - Invading the Moon Howlers' secret hide-out!

Cassandra’s point of view: Around us, the darkness was absolute, the silence oppressive. We could see perfectly well but Dalton, Alpha Blaze and the pack warriors couldn’t see us anymore. We made them hide in certain spots where they wouldn’t be seen from here.Together with Lucas, I stepped inside the tunnel leading towards the Moon Howlers’ secret hide-out. Observing our surroundings well before invading their spot, we had each others’ backs.Nothing could be heard from this far but the moment we reached mid-way inside the tunnel; we started hearing hush voices except it wasn’t whispering anymore when we focused on those voices using our primordials’ powers.Lucas held my wrist to stop me and then, pulled me to the side. We stood with our backs to the ceramic tiled wall as we listened in to the conversation. It was Levi… he was speaking to someone.“Everything is going as planned. We need one more week before we’d be ready to take over the werewolf race.” Levi explained to someone.

Cassandra’s point of view: Lucas tackled me to the ground. Breathing hard, I closed my eyes and took a moment to calm my pounding heart.“Come on, get up! We won’t stop until you get this right.” Lucas shouted.I groaned miserably as I forced my body to move. We’ve been practicing for hours… getting trained and getting accustomed with my primordial powers. With the help of Lucas, I’ve been able to get my wolves to work together – well to a certain extent. But, I was determined to make myself well-matched with Lucas in terms of his primordial powers. We needed to get this done, together, for the unprecedented battle awaiting us.Warlocks were known to be one of the most powerful beings to have ever existed on earth. They were stronger, fiercer and vile than witches.Among the werewolf kind, the primordials and the Lycans were at par but relatively, primordials were more dominate and tougher.Distracted, I glanced up when I caught a whiff of Dalton’s enticing scent. I looked in that sp

  • Alpha Dalton   Chapter 91 - Luna Cassandra of the Crescent Moon pack

Cassandra’s point of view: “Cassandra, I love you.” He confessed, his voice sounded steady, assured. He meant it. Surprised, I looked at him. His eyes tried to smile, but his lips remained fixed in a stark, upside down frown as though he feared my reaction to his sudden confession. I didn’t need to hear it. I could feel his heart pounding in his chest. He was nervous. The anger I’d felt vanished into thin air, replaced with a whole lot of emotions… feelings… All that crap, which didn’t seem so much like crap right now when his was the heart that was twisting and aching and mine were the anger evaporating into unshed tears. When I smiled at him through my tears, I felt a rush of relief go through him before he returned the gesture. He closed the short distance between us and slid his arm over my shoulders, pulling me into his arms. I leaned into his embrace with a blissful sigh. I regretted wearing my clothes. I would do anything to strip my body as bare as his. But I could st

  • Alpha Dalton   Chapter 90 - "You marked me!"

Dalton’s point of view: I woke up at nine feeling a lot better than I’d felt last night. It had taken me a second to remember everything that had happened, but hearing Cassandra’s contented sigh, and feeling her long, slim leg slide between mine as she draped herself over me in her sleep, everything had come flooding back into my mind. My lips tugged up into a smile, happy that I’d spent last night with her… I believed we both needed to be together, needed to feel one another’s warmth, scent and comforting presence after that whole ordeal with her parents and Alpha Julian. Looking down at her, my heart skipped a beat. Damn. I was so whipped for her... I never thought I’d ever find her, my destined mate, before but now that I’d found her, I’d do anything for her. Anything! I slowly and gently tucked a strand of her hair that had covered part of her left cheek behind her left ear. Smiling as I gazed down at her beautiful face, I softly rubbed her cheek with my thumb. She leaned m

  • Alpha Dalton   Chapter 89 - It was sheer perfection.

Cassandra’s point of view: My finger was wet with his body’s essence, and I lifted it to my mouth, tasting the salty flavor of him while staring right into his eyes confidently. Dalton reached down and tangled his hand in my hair, never taking his eyes off me. Hungry for more, I began to pull his shorts down, carefully, deliberately slow, lifting them over that throbbing ridge of flesh. I let my hand brush against his cock, watching his rippling stomach muscles flex in reaction. Holding my breath, I drew the shorts all the way down, revealing inch after glorious inch of him. “Fuck,” I couldn’t help cussing in a whisper, needing to take a moment to stare at the male beauty before me. I inhaled, but my breath didn’t seem to reach my lungs; I felt dizzy, light-headed. So weak with desire I had the urge to climb up and impale myself on him now, right now, without any further delays. But, I also wanted to taste him. To pleasure him the way he’d pleasured me. So I leaned closer, close

  • Alpha Dalton   Chapter 88 - "Shush... It's my turn."

Cassandra’s point of view: Looking down at Dalton, stunned, as always by his sexy masculinity, his alluring presence and his enticing scent, I paused to acknowledge that I’d reached one of those important moments in my life where I’d had to make a decision which would change the course of my life, either in a good way or in a bad way.No matter whatever else happened in the future though, I had no doubt – none, zero – that this decision would live on in my memories forever and definitely as a sweet good memory. Swiftly yet smoothly picking me up in his arms, Dalton dashed back inside the pack house, across hallways and several rooms before we’d reached his bedroom within seconds.Shortly after, we were in his bed.He had me straddling him while he laid there, watching me. His seductive eyes filled with desire, bore into mine.“Come here,” he ordered, reaching up and sinking his hands in my hair.I let him pull me down, needing to taste him.Our lips met, softly, more tenderly than w

  • Alpha Dalton   Chapter 87 - I wanted that nightgown off her...

Dalton’s point of view: I tossed and turned in my bed, my sleep repeatedly interrupted by thoughts regarding Cassandra, her parents and Alpha Julian. Why did they have to come get her? I sat up with a tired sigh. I might as well get up if I wasn’t going to get any sleep. It wasn’t even night time anymore. It was like four in the morning already. I couldn’t believe that I hadn’t slept at all. That was a first. Deciding to go for a walk around the pack house to calm down, I got out of bed and left my bedroom. I hadn’t realized when I’d descended the stairs to the floor below mine but I soon found myself walking down the hallway about to cross Cassandra’s bedroom. Was she asleep? It was pretty early for her to be up and around but knowing her… I fisted my right hand, readying myself to knock on her bedroom door to check on her but then, I shook my head and stepped back. Sighing, I chose to go to the courtyard. I needed to get those unwanted wandering thoughts out of my mind. There
