Blake P.O.V.Finding the camp, I must admit I thought I had seen everything life, battle and death had to offer, but I was sorely mistaken. The sheer carnage of the camp and the bodies displayed between scattered possessions and tents, was enough to make the best of us want to hurl. Some of my warriors did, in the trees, outside the line of the site. I didn’t blame them one bit. Bile rose several times, but I reminded myself to keep my composure and be someone my men could look up to. I mindlinked Allie after we searched the camp thoroughly to make sure no one was lying in wait to make a nasty surprise, and no magic was about. We found nothing, so I deemed it safe for her to come out here. She brought Ruby, mindlinking me the details from the hospital briefly before they went ahead on the ATV. I mindlink a couple of warriors to escort them out here and return back to the pack later. They were more than willing to do so, and asked if there was anything else they could do? I told them
Allison P.O.V.The ATV speeds through the pack, and I weave through packmembers walking to and fro, doing their everyday thing. Most of them recognize me and wave with a smile, while others just jump out of my way with a curse. I’ll apologize later, but right now we need to get to that campsite - fast. “What aren’t you telling me, Allie?” Ruby yells over the noise from the ATV and wind blowing past us. I keep my eyes on the road as we go over the pack border and onto a beaten forest road. Two warrior wolves join us, running besides the ATV, keeping up with no trouble. “Allie?!” I sigh into the wind, slowing down a bit, so I don’t have to yell myself hoarse, until I remember we can mindlink one another. I speed up again, feeling her tighten her grip on me and the confusion from my warriors at my momentous slow down. ‘You’ll see when we get there, but these were not ordinary bad rogues. They were cursed or something. And the campsite was filled with wolves as well, people who were liv
Allison P.O.V.I watched as Talia and Oloron left the room. I hoped they would keep it somewhat peaceful when they talked, but knowing the twins as well as I do these days, I know they don’t back down for shit. Especially Tabatha can be very stubborn about things and I don’t blame her. My own family was rotten to the core, although they didn’t deserve the end they got. I’m sorry I never got to make up with my father, but I guess it was a lost cause for the beginning, and I have come to terms with what he did and happened to me. Therapy has been helping, and I have kept it up. Even with our crazy lives I make sure to make time for going at least once a week. I know I need it, and Blake deserves the best version of me. Athena does as well. I am not going to be like my father. Never! I will love my child, children if I should ever be so lucky, with equal measure and be the embarrassing and proud as hell parents that’s there for every part of their lives! “Allie?” Neptune’s voice brings
Talia P.O.V. My world spun. Everything seemed unreal, but at the same time more real than it had in a long time. I must admit that I had not visited my father as much as I could or maybe should have after he surrendered himself on the battle night. I just went along with my life and tried to tell myself nothing had changed. Everything had changed. He asked us to bind the side of him Caitlyn had thrust upon him. We learned he never wanted it, and he fought it every day, trying to protect us children, Tabs and I in particular. I didn’t know what to do with that information, so I just closed it down and locked it away. Neptune tried to talk to me, ask me if I wanted to visit my father, but I shut him down every time. He eventually gave up. Now I felt bad. He had tried to be there for me as my mate and my husband and I had shut him down. I sighed. “You okay, sweetheart?” My father asks me, his eyes holding worry. I nod, giving him a small smile. “Yeah, I just need to apologize to Neptu
Oloron P.O.V.We land in front of a white building, Alpha Allison smiling at me in approval. I asked her to describe the building and the heading before we could teleport. I could have used my daughters as an anchor to locate them as they are my blood, but then we would be landing directly in the room with them, and I was not sure how they would have taken that. I’m not even sure Alpha Allison told them we are coming together. “That was the smoothest teleportation I have ever tried.” She says, opening the door and beckoning me to go inside before her. I bow my head in respect and step inside. “Thank you, Alpha. I have been doing this for a long time, so it should be smooth or I would be doing it wrong.” She chuckles. “But I could also have been rusty, which may also be a reason for the teleportation to feel less than smooth.” I ponder further. I guess she is referring to her teleporting with Mother Athale in the old packhouse, and maybe she has even tried it with one of my girls. Ar
Oloron P.O.V. The dawn is clear and crisp. The sky is free of skies, and the birds are already singing their morning song. The trees sway and swoosh in the light wind, making their own music, echoing the internal peace that has resided within me since the night I finally surrendered and left my wife. Ex wife. Caitlyn held me hostage for many centuries, and I fought her as best as I could, keeping the darkness and evil she forced upon me at bay with more luck some days than others. The first thing I asked of my daughters was to bind that side of me as they had done in themselves. I feared they would deny me, but they just worked the spell and for the first time in forever I felt truly free. The Alpha’s questioned me for days about Caitlyn and Bane. How had they found each other, how were they working together. The female, Allison, especially wanted to know where they were hiding. I unfortunately couldn’t provide much aid with the current situation. I however did provide a good look
