Rosalind
Ever since Axel interfered with our family argument two days ago, Desdemona has been more silent than usual. She hasn't been bothering me at all, and even Venice is cautious with her words and actions whenever we come across each other.
Sebastian, Axel, and I were all seated down on the ground playing some type of board game. Axel and I wanted to rest more, but Sebastian barged into our room, holding a scrabble board. He told us that he didn't have anything to do in the servant's quarters, so he came up here after stealing one of the board games displayed in our living room.
The game was nearing its end, and it was Sebastian's turn to place down his letters. The game has become progressively hard since we don't have any spare letters to pick from anymore.
"Arter?" I asked, tilting my head to the side in confusion. "Is that even a word?"
Axel also frowned beside me.
"Yeah. It's what they call people who make a
RosalindAm I...dead?Is this what it feels like to lose all consciousness in your body?I guess it doesn't feel that bad. It feels...good, to be honest. I don't feel any joy or pain. I just feel...nothing. I am numb.Suddenly, I felt like something was being pumped out of my body, and I had the urge to take a deep breath. The darkness that once covered my view became white, and I saw the vast blue sky from where I was. I took in a deep breath and sat up from my position. My vision was blurred, so I closed my eyes and shook my head in hopes of clearing it. Once my vision was clear, I looked around the area until I came across a familiar handsome face by my side."Fuck. You had me worried there," Axel said, hugging me in his arms.I was still in a daze, so I wasn't able to hug him back. I just sat there, unmoving, as I recalled everything that had happened a while back.As I calmed my m
Rosalind"What?" I asked, my mouth agape. He patted his lap. "Sit," he casually said."No!" I shook my head. "Are you out of your mind? Can't we just sit close to each other?"He sighed. "Fine, come here," he said, gesturing to the spot next to him.I sighed in relief and scooted closer to him. However, he suddenly placed one of his arms around my waist and the other under my thighs. He effortlessly picked me up and placed me down on his lap, caging me in his arms and leaving me no place to escape."What the hell are you doing?" I exclaimed, trying to move out of his grip."See? Isn't that better?" he asked. "Don't you feel the heat created by our bodies?"When he said that, I suddenly realized just how warm I felt. I don't know whether it was the warmth from his body or the warmth from the embarrassment that I was feeling—maybe both.I sighed and just leaned back on his muscular
RosalindFireworks.Fireworks from the anger that I felt for Sebastian."Oh, there you guys are! Fuck, I've been searching for you for two hours. Are you both alright?" he asked, walking over to where we were.I hastily moved away from Axel while clearing my throat.I know that I should be thankful for Sebastian since he was able to find us, but there was an unexplainable anger and disappointment brewing in my heart.Axel sighed deeply and roughly rubbed his face with his hands. He stood up from his seat and grumbled something under his breath. I didn't hear what he said, but it was along the lines of punching Sebastian."Why does it look like you're not happy to see me? Shouldn't you thank me for finding your location?"I mindlessly nodded my head. "Yeah, yeah. Thank you.""Thanks," Axel said silently and insincerely.Sebastian clicked his tongue. "Maybe I shouldn'
Rosalind"Like how you gave up on mom?"My father's mouth went agape, and even Desdemona and Venice, who usually had a lot to say, were surprised and weren't able to utter any words.I don't know how long it took for them to recover from the shock of my statement, but we stood in silence for what felt like an eternity. In contrast to my father's reprimanding voice just moments ago, his voice suddenly became significantly softer—almost broken."How can you say that, Rosalind?"I chuckled emotionlessly. "What? Did I say something wrong? It's the truth! You talk big about my mate giving up on me when you yourself gave up on your mate—on mom, on ME!""Rosalind—,"I didn't let him get a word out as I continued with my outburst."You threw away the years that you spent with mom and replaced them with a woman who doesn't give two shits about our kingdom!" I screamed, pointing at Desdemona. "Y
AxelIt has been three days since Rosalind and I had the conversation in her room, and we haven't talked about it ever since. After the conversation, we just slept in each other's arms; and when the morning came, I didn't see Rosalind by my side.Frankly, I think things have changed—but not for the better.I don't know why, but Rosalind feels...distant, somehow. It's not like she's fully ignoring me, but she draws on a clear line whenever I try to be intimate with her."Oh, hey," I said, greeting her as she went inside the room. She paused and stared at me, and I swear I saw a hint of regret in her eyes. I tilted my head to the side in confusion. Something is definitely up."Uh, yeah...hey. I was just passing by to get," she looked around the room until her eyes came across an empty water bottle on her bedside table. "this!" she walked over to the bottle and picked it up.I raised one of my ey
RosalindI have been counting down the days when we are finally going to proceed with the next mission. Axel still hasn't told me the full details of the plan, but he said that he would relay it to us on the train. I just wish that it does not concern any strip clubs or weird-ass men.Although there was still a lot in my mind—that being my family and Axel, I find that just burying them inside my mind is the best way to go.I’m not yet ready to talk to Axel about these fluttering feelings, so I change the topic whenever I feel like we’re leading to that certain subject. As for my family, I didn’t even bother speaking to them ever since that dreaded day. I can see in my father’s eyes that he wants to talk to me, but I just ignore him in any way that I can. I even had Sebastian bring my food up to my room just so I could avoid sitting down with my family at the dinner table. It was now the afternoon, and it wa
RosalindYou know how I said that this train reminds me of the one in Harry Potter? Well, their similarities just keep on piling up.As we sat in silence, a cart full of sweets and treats made its way over to us. But get this—instead of a friendly old woman pushing the cart, it was a handsome young man instead. I called him over because I wanted to buy some of his treats. He stopped in front of our seats and gave us a friendly smile. His cheek dimples became more evident when he smiled, and I had the urge to coo at him. He's so cute!"Good day, sirs!" he greeted. He then looked towards me and bowed his head slightly. "And good day to the beautiful maiden as well."I felt my cheeks heating up. He's cute and respectful! So different from a certain someone I know.He gestured at the different snacks in his cart. "Could I get you something today?""No," Axel quickly said, making me glare at him."Sorry," I said ap
RosalindAfter a little bit less than an hour, we finally made it into Bernadok. I was still quite upset with Axel's blunder a while ago, but I decided to let it go since there's no use crying over spilled milk.I wandered my eyes around to see the different views of the city. Unlike the last city that we went to, Bernadok had a much more modern feel to it. That's why it's called the Technology Center of the country. This is maybe why Luna Kirsten opted to have her surgery here. Their technology and methods are definitely the highest in the country when it comes to medicine and surgery. That's why it's expensive to live here too.My eyes lit up in surprise when I saw a robot bunny in one of the shops. It was so similar to a real-life bunny, but it could do various tricks like spinning and jumping over obstacles. I leaned against the glass to take a closer look at the bunny and giggled when I saw it doing tricks.I heard Axel chuckle nex
It has been exactly eight months since Axel and Cupid called each other to share that their respective wives were pregnant, and it has also been eight months since they’ve been seeing each other every month. Axel sighed as he packed his bags once again.“Are you ready, love?” Rosalind called out from the bathroom.Axel smiled and tried to sound cheery. “Yes, love. I’ll just load the bags in the car.”“Alright, I’ll come down after peeing,” she called out.“Stay here while I load our things, love. I’ll go back here to come and fetch you.”Rosalind flushed the toilet and moved out of the bathroom. “Wait, let’s just go together,” she walked toward her husband. She held onto her back as she walked since her stomach had gotten so big that her back failed to support her by itself anymore.Axel clicked his tongue and shook his head when he saw her struggling to walk. He placed their bags down on the ground and walked over to where she was. One hand held onto her back while the other held on
Axel excitedly dialed Cupid's number, ready to tell him about the unexpected news. As much as the two of them try to deny it, they both know, deep inside their hearts, that they treat each other as very good friends. "Yo," Axel said into the phone. "I have something to tell you." "Axel!" Cupid greeted in an equally jolly voice. "I was just about to call you too. I also have some great news." Axel became a little suspicious when he heard that Cupid, too, had some good news, but nothing could really take away from his happiness after the news that he had just heard. "You go first, then," Axel presented since he is in a good mood. "Nah, man. You go first. You're the one who called me first. Go ahead," Cupid responded. "No, you." "No, you go first." "No, YOU go first." "No, you're the one who should go first." They endlessly said to each other. In the end, Axel sighed in frustration. "Let's just say it at the same time, alright. Then we'll explain it individually afterward." "Fi
"Did you get it?" Rain excitedly said as she went out of her office. Liam looked up from his laptop and focused his attention on Rain. "Get what?" Rain sighed in frustration. "The invitation!" "What invitation?" he asked, confused. Rain walked closer to him and went behind his back. "I told you to check your personal email more often. Come on, open up your account." Liam quickly opened up his personal email account and clicked on the latest message. He read the contents of the email. "A high school reunion?" "Yeah," Rain nodded her head. "Let's go together." Liam smiled. In the course that they have been dating, he could feel that Rain had changed for the better. She had gained so much confidence over the past few months, and Liam feels proud knowing that she had grown to love and appreciate herself even more. "Yeah, let's go together. I also miss some of my high school friends." Rain smiled. "That's settled, then. Let's also buy our outfits together." *** Rain and Liam t
"This is it," Cupid removed his hands from Gillian's eyes, revealing a spacious yet cozy-looking infrastructure filled with antique designs. "Our new bakery." Gillian looked at the infrastructure in awe, and suddenly got teary-eyed when she realized that they were going to be having a new chapter in their life. Cupid chuckled as he observed his wife's teary eyes. "Why are you crying? This is supposed to be a happy event, love." Gillian wiped her tears with her sleeves and tried her hardest not to cry. "I know, love. I'm just so proud of the two of us." Ever since Gillian and Cupid had been married, they started thinking more about their future. They both knew that Cupid's investments would be more than enough to provide for their everyday needs, but they still would want to have a steady, stable income where the two of them can work together. And as someone who enjoys cooking and baking quite a lot, Cupid suggested that they open a cafe near Briana's restaurant. He thought that
No matter how many times Axel wakes up to Rosalind in the morning, he still can’t get over how beautiful his wife is. He smiled and leaned closer to her face, tracing her features from her eyes down to her lips.“Axel, stop that,” Rosalind swatted his hand away and scooted farther away from him.“Love, stay here,” Axel whined and pulled her closer, peppering kisses all over her neck.“I’m tired, Axel,” she grumbled and closed her eyes to get more sleep.“Why, my love? Didn’t you get enough sleep yesterday?”Rosalind clicked her tongue and glared at Axel. “Of course, I’m tired! You fucking ruined me yesterday.”Axel smiled with pride. “But you liked it, right?”Rosalind rolled her eyes and turned away from Axel, trying to hide her reddening cheeks. "Whatever. I'm going to sleep."Axel chuckled and placed a chaste kiss on top of her shoulder. "Rest well, my love. I'll be cooking some breakfast.""Mmh," Rosalind hummed, willing herself to sleep once again. Axel quietly went out of the b
Olivia and Dallas gazed back and forth between Liam who was on stage and Rain who was sitting right next to them. Olivia couldn't help but let out a small chuckle when she saw Rain's flushed face as other people also started teasing her. "How the fuck did he know what I was going to wear?" she asked. Dallas shook his head. "I went with him. He definitely didn't know. He just grabbed the first sweater he saw at Target. Must be destiny or something." Rain knew that Dallas was joking when he told her about destiny, but she couldn't help but blush at the thought that they might really be destined for each other. Liam, who saw Rain from a distance, was also shocked to see that they were wearing the same sweaters. He smiled to himself as he watched Rain getting teased by her other co-workers. 'I knew that going to Target would be a good idea,' he thought in his mind. "Good evening, everyone!" Liam finally said into the mic. The crowd cheered and clapped their hands, ready to star
When Liam told Rain that he would show her how he truly feels, she thought that he was just joking. There was no way that the guy she has been liking for the past seven years would suddenly show interest in her and make the effort to prove it.However, much to her surprise, he wasn’t lying. Ever since that day, she would always see her favorite coffee on top of her desk. On the weekends, flowers would suddenly show up on her doorstep. And during the end of her shift, Liam would always be waiting for her to take her home. She arrived in the office and saw yet another coffee, accompanied by two blueberry muffins, on top of her desk.“Damn, girl. I’m jealous of this admirer of yours. You’ve been receiving free breakfast for the past week!” Olivia saidRain chuckled and handed Olivia one of the blueberry muffins before taking a sip from her coffee. Olivia smiled in delight before taking the blueberry muffin from Rain's hands. "Do you already know who this admirer is?" she asked. Rain st
“I like you, alright?” Rain bursted out.“I’ve liked you for so damn long that it’s killing me inside! I know that you don’t see me that way, and I also know that you have something going on with Claire, that’s why I hate myself for even thinking about you—for thinking we could be together. So, stop doing this—whatever this is that you’re doing. To you, this might only be an act of friendship, but to me who has liked you from the beginning, I am starting to misinterpret your actions. It’s so fucking difficult for me to act platonically with you if you keep doing these things. So, please. Stop. I’ll also stop bothering you from now on.”Liam intently listened to every word that Rain said. He never expected this, to be honest. To him, Rain was like an honest friend that always had his back. She would always be there to comfort him whenever he felt down, and even when he had problems with Claire, she’d always be there to listen. Looking back on it, Rain must have suffered a lot because o
Liam felt giddy as he parked his car in the parking lot. Even if he didn’t get much sleep last night, he still somehow feels energetic. It’s like there’s something, or rather, someone he’s looking forward to seeing to in the office. Rain, on the other hand, had a full night of sleep but she still felt like she didn’t get enough rest. She placed her things down on the table and sat down on her chair with a deep sigh. Olivia saw this, so she walked towards her and placed her hand on her shoulder. “Hey, you alright?”“Mmh?” Rain looked up at Olivia and smiled. “I’m great, Liv.”Even if Rain smiled, it somehow didn’t feel genuine. “Did everything go well yesterday?” Olivia asked, wondering if something bad happened during the dinner, causing her to act like this.Everything went well. Too well, if you ask Rain. Liam and her had the best conversation they ever had, but it only reminded her that their relationship stops at that. She hates herself for thinking that the two of them could ac
