The Heat Period

Blair sat in the small, cramped cell, her knees pulled up to her chest as she looked out at the clear, starry night sky through the small opening in the wall. The memory of her home and family flooded her mind, and a tear rolled down her cheek. She missed people and the comfort of her home. She missed how it feels to call a place home.

She missed her siblings and the times they would spend outside, stargazing and telling stories. The thought of never seeing them again was almost unbearable, and she felt trapped in this new world. She wished that someday she would get out of this world and go back to where she belong to, she wished that she would be able to see her mom and her sibling once again.

She couldn’t imagine what her mom and sibling would have had to go through since her absence, she couldn’t imagine how hard her mom and her little siblings would have cried while searching for her. She wished she could see them again, even if it was just o
