Artemis

Moon Howlers is the one of the biggest packs of the state. And being the alpha of this pack wasn't easy. I have to keep my eyes open and have to ensure the safety of my pack. Specially when the rouge issue is becoming the reason of many packs alpha's sleepless nights. I had a meeting with few alphas in a secret place as we are suspecting someone's trying to keep an eye on us. It was a confidential meeting.

As I was away from my pack and family I missed my little sister's eightenth birthday. For an werewolf their eighteen birthday is special as they can sense their mate from this day. Anna was very eager to find out her mate. Among our three siblings Anna was the youngest. Austin and Anna are only three years apart but we both brothers spoiled her. She was very young when dad left us. She is more like my child than sister. And I missed her special day, I can't imagine what I have to do to make her forgave me.

I shaked my hands with everyone as I was saying my goodbye to them.

Then alpha Nolan gave me a gift box . I asked him to do me a small favour as he said his Luna is very passionate about jewelleries. So I asked him if her Luna can help me buy a gift for my sister. And I was quite happy as he showed me the diamond sets. Anna will love it.

" Thank you, Nolan. Please thank your Luna behalf of me."

"Anything for you, Artemis. You missed your sister's birthday while helping us. But I'm still upset that you didn't let me pay for the gift." He insisted on paying the price for my birthday gift. But it's my girl's birthday, so I should be the one paying for this.

I was busy talking with him and it's when I got the call from Austin that shook my world, that Anna is no more.

The first thing I saw when I entered pack house was the lifeless body of Anna. I can't believe, Anna committed suicide. Her pale body was laying there. She was the sunshine of our family, always happy and playful. I waited silently, hoping she will wake up smiling saying it was her another pranks.

Everyone was sad and mom was senseless. I didn't know when I last cried. My eyes were misty with unshed tears. I closed my eyes and stayed still for few moments. When I opened my eyes again all I see was red.

I got to know the reason behind her death. Her mate's rejection. A loud and dangerous growl left my throat as I realized I'm loosing control and my wolf Luka was taking the control.

" Who is the bastard, tell me his name," I yelled at everyone. My alpha aura making everyone scared.

"Vegas from Autumn Moon pack", someone said from the crowd.

My beta, my brother Austin come forward.

"Austin, take care of mummy, I'll handle this matter," and I left for the autumn moon pack which is known as one of the peaceful pack. But I didn't know their members started to snatch others peace. Let's deal with them, a sinister smile crept on my lips.

My people were gone there before me. When I reached there I heard he ran away. Such a coward. But you can't ran away and hide from me for too long. You have to paid for your sin. Then I heard he was getting married to their Alpha's daughter. The wolf less girl who was in the party everyone was talking few months ago.Never got the chance to meet her. Let's see what she got that my sister got rejected by her mate for her. Everyone made a space for me and when I stepped forward the most alluring and familiar scent hit my nostrils. The scent that was haunting my dreams for long time.The scent of lavender mixed with rains. I look at her, the delicate girl was sitting on the ground helplessly. My heart beat increased as Luka screamed in my mind

" mate".

I was happy that we finally found her. But then reality hit me. I felt betrayed. My mate instead of waiting for me getting married to someone else and that someone rejected my sister cause her death. Few moments ago the rage I was feeling for revenge turned into the rage of betrayal. All my anger fall on her. Then she looked at me, slowly our eyes met. My eyes full of hatred and hers are full of fear.

Mate, you made a mistake and you have to pay for this. I bent down and lowered myself to her level.

"Nice to meet you mate, instead of waiting for me you tried to snatch others mate. You were this desperate to have a mate. Let's see how you deal with me, babe," I gave her my sinister smile and she shivered with fear. Pathetic!!!

Her father came forward to rescue his daughter.

" It's not her fault, she is innocent."

" Innocent, hah?? Because of her my sister got rejected and that lead her to death. As long as I didn't find Vegas she has to come with me."

" You can't do this with her," her father shrieked.

" And she is supposed to come with me, right mate??" I smirked and everyone was in awe hearing the word mate.

"Mate!" Her father was surprised.

" Come with me or I'll take over this pack, choice is yours."

She is such an weak pathetic person I guess. She didn't speak a word till now.

" I'll count till five ", I said.

" One,

two,

three......"

" I'll come with you, leave my pack harmless", her steady and calm voice come to ears. And I was astonished for a moment how composed and calm she was. And it sounded like a music to me.

" Congratulations,mate. It'll be fun to break you little by little", I smirked.
