The mere thought of Iris struggling for her life, wherever she was, shattered me and tore my heart apart. My stomach was clenched tight with fear and panic rioting within me.

Iris had suffered a lot, and I couldn't shake off the guilt of being responsible for her misery. Fred, Natalia, and I hastily jumped into the car, desperate to find her. Natalia sat in the back with her cheeks wet with tears.

"Call Sophia now," I instructed Fred, who promptly threw himself into the task. But Sophia's phone rang unanswered.

Without hesitation, I floored the accelerator and sped past the limit. The estates became a blur as we sped toward the city. The roads were busy, and we waved through bustling markets and administrative blocks before turning onto a huge sunbaked road lined with tall, unfinished buildings.
