Chapter 13

Allison sat at the table with the other children. Her plate was full of homemade mashed potatoes, corn grown from the browns garden, a perfectly cooked steak from one of their bulls that they had slaughtered, Homemade macaroni and cheese and a glass of milk from their own cows.

Allison's stomach was growling just from the smell and sight of the amazing food in front of her.

Jensen took her left hand and Avery took her right hand. Everyone bowed their heads and said a prayer over their food before they ate. "God is great, God is good. Let us thank him for our food. By his hands, we are fed. Let us thank him for our bread, in Jesus name Amen."

Allison smiled and said Amen with the others, she was happy to finally be somewhere with a family that loved each other and Said prayers before eating at the table together.

After dinner Allison washed her plate, silverware and cup and went back downstairs to shower and get ready for bed.
