I was brushing my hair while thinking about the possibilities of how bad today's day is going to be.

I'm definitely going to have a panic attack!

Well! Today is sunday and Rhea has invited me at the Khurrana mansion so we could discuss about the wedding decorations.

How bad can it be?

Too bad, If I come face to face with a witch.

"Di, you're going somewhere?" Lisa asked plopping on my bed.

"Yeah. To a client. We have to discuss about the preparations." I said absent mindedly.

"But today is sunday." She whined.

"I know. I am sorry, I'll make it up to you some other day." I said to her smiling.

"But you're wearing jeans & T-shirt?" She asked furrowing her brows.

"Yeah! It is not a formal meet. And anyways today is not a working day, I hate those formal dresses." I said and she just laughed at it.

"Okay, take care." She said and left the room.

I hope I can take care of myself!

I stopped my scooty at the main gate of Khurrana's mansion and the security chief was absolutely shocked to see me here.

"Anushka ma'am." He said rubbing his eyes.

"How many times did I tell you not call me ma'am?" I asked chuckling.

"You're really here?" He asked still in daze and I laughed.

Then all the security guys went on an alert mode as they saw a red lamborgini coming towards the gate.

What a great morning!

I thought sarcastically.

Dev stopped his car beside my scooty. He rolled down his window.

How can someone look this hot in the morning?

He took off his shades and raising his brows at me he said

"I thought you were here to plan Rhea's wedding & not flirt with my security team."

I rolled my eyes at him.

"Sir, we were just going to scan her ID." The security chief said.

"She's not some outsider, you can send her in without the formalities." He said and drove off inside the mansion.

I'm not an outsider?

I just gave him an awkward smile & got inside.

I stood before the door just staring at it.

I can do it!

Taking a deep breath, I was going to ring the door bell when I heard a deep voice saying

"No one's going to eat you up, you know."

I turned to him & said

"I know. But that isn't helping my anxiety." I said shrugging.

He swung his arm around my shoulder & said

"I'll make sure you're fine. Trust me on this. I won't let anybody walk over you." He said and I could see the sincerity in his eyes.

"Why?" I asked though my voice didn't support me and it came out shaky.

"You don't want to know the answer." He said and with his other hand he bend to ring the doorbell which was beside me and I shifted a bit backwards. We were looking into each other's eyes all the time.

It is always been like this!

I could never look away from his eyes.

We heard someone clearing their throat and saw Jay standing at the door.

I immediately seperated myself from Dev and rushed in the house.

Rhea engulfed me in a hug and said

"I am soo sorry for making you do this on a weekend."

"That's fine." I said smiling.

"Karan will be here in a bit. Come sit." She said gesturing towards the couch.

I looked around the living room.

This was my house,once!

No crying!

No crying..!

"Are you okay?" Jay asked sitting beside me.

"Umm yeah. Just a bit overwhelmed." I said trying to smile.

"If you see Dev's room you're going to be more overwhelmed." He said chuckling.

"I can't. I don't have it in me to go there. It is taking a lot of courage to look into his eyes anyways." I said shaking my head and then I heard a voice which I wish I would never hear.

"What the hell is this woman doing in my house?"  A screechy voice yelled.

I looked up to meet with a furious pair of eyes.

Amruta Khurrana

"Mom." Rhea called but she stopped her showing her palm.

"Don't talk a word. I just want her out of my mansion, right now." She said in her usual commanding tone.

"Aunty first listen to her." Jay said.

I was not able to focus on anything. I could see her there standing before me and that was enough for me to go into panic.

My whole body started shaking, palms started sweating.

You are going to rot here for the rest of your life!

I just want you out of my son's life!

You're just a piece of shit..!

You & your family do not deserve to be happy.

Dev will leave you once he get's to know the truth.

Everything for me was just a blur and her words were continuously ringing in my ears.

No, you can't go back there!

"Anushka..! Anu...!" I heard someone calling out my name and I got out of my daze.

I saw Dev standing there holding one of my palms in his and his other hand cupping my cheek.

I felt something wet on cheek and it was then that I realised I had been crying.

I could clearly see worry in Dev's eyes.

"I'm fine." I said with shaky voice.

"Mom! I think we had a discussion on this. She is their wedding planner and you are not going to come in her way, neither will she." Dev said now holding me by my shoulder and I looked at him in an awe.

Why is he standing up for me?

"See, a day of her in this mansion and my kids are against me. This is what she loves to do." Mrs. Khurrana said to them.

I pulled my shit together and taking a deep breath I said

"I am sorry to interrupt Mrs. Khurrana but I'm here to plan your daughter's wedding and I am not going to meddle in anyone's personal business. So, I hope you keep our personal issues out of it."

I removed my hand from Dev's grip and passed a smile to him while he looked at me shocked.

Ofcourse, he'll be shocked!

I was almost in a panic attack a few minutes ago and now I am talking back to her!

I picked up my bag and saw that everyone stood there with shocked expressions.

I wanted to laugh at them.

"You can call me and then we'll set up a meeting according to your convinience. But the next time I am not stepping a foot in this house." I said to Rhea but looked at Mrs. khurrana while saying the last part.

I am hell serious about that!

Dev held my hand in his and as usual dragged me out.

"Dev." I called out.

"I am dropping you home and this is not up for a discussion." He said looking at me as if challenging with his eyes to deny.

"But my scooty— i started but he cut me off.

"That will be taken care of." He said and opened the passenger side door for me.

He sat on the driver side and entwined our fingers.

"Are you really fine? You were so close to a panic attack in there." He said looking at me with soo much worry & care. That I was scared.

Scared that I might get used to him caring for me again.

"I'm really fine." I said with a smile.

He tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear & asked

"Does this happen often?"

I just nodded my head in negative not trusting my voice and he did the most unexpected thing.

He brought my knuckles to his lips and kissed them.

I looked at him wide eyed.

"I am sorry. Mom won't be a problem after this. I'll talk to her." He said and started driving.

But my heart here was beating like crazy.

Dude.. Calm down!

Because he still had our fingers entwined.

And I was not ready to leave them.

"Anyways, It's just a matter of 2 months or so. After that we don't have to face each other." I said looking out of the window.

"Mark my words, Anushka. This time I am not letting you runaway from me this easily." He said and I snapped my head towards him with a shocked expression.

"You've made me go crazy for these 2 years and now that I've got you. You're not running away. Not anytime soon." He said smirking.

"I have nothing for which I would stay." I said standing my ground.

"We can solve that problem too." He said with a wink and I just shook my head at his flirtarous ways.

"Can you never stop flirting?" I asked chuckling.

"With you? Never going to happen." He said with a smile playing on his lips.
