What the hell

Gregory's head is on my thighs. He is still clutching them in pain while I cry big ugly tears on his behalf. The car skids to a stop in front of a hospital. A middle aged man is waiting for us with a stretcher. They wheel Gregory inside. I hear the middle aged man which I assume to be Dr Carlos speaks to another Doctor. I have no idea what he says to him but they both look at me and down to my feet. I follow their gaze to my feet and notice that I am barefooted. I look behind me and I see my footprint is covered in blood, my blood. Then I felt the pain in my foot. I was pierced by the broken glass. In the heat of the moment I didn't realise I was injured, carrying on mindlessly.

The new doctor walks over to me, taking me to a spare bed. “I'll take out the glass and attend to your wound, bandage them up and you'll be good as new”. The doctor's voice is soothing.

“And Gregory?”. I questioned. Concerned about the health of the father of my baby more than anything else.
