EBONY’S POV:

I was about to hang out with myself when I came face to face with Adolphus. I needed to buy what I needed from the market, to not starve. I didn’t forget about my rent so I needed to go back to that café and check if the spot was still open for me.

Seeing his face made me somewhat mad. I didn’t want to see him or his sister. It made me feel guilty, because Alice was right. I was the one who started this whole feud.

It hurt me that she compared me to that bastard. I wasn’t acting like him. I was just trying to protect myself from trouble but now, I wouldn’t do this anymore.

It’s better to strike first.

I thought you wanted an ally. Why are you provoking your potential ally? The voice in my head asked.

I can’t help it. He brings out the worst in me.

When I saw her put her hand on him, her eyes looked up and down at me. I didn’t miss the way his friend looked at me. I knew his friend. He was one of the werewolves I forced to the edge, forcing him to make an impossible choice

I decided to forget what happened and focus on the matter at hand. I needed to appear as the most beautiful girl for my comeback. I would let no one tell me how ugly I was, because I wasn’t.I chose a dress jean that would go perfectly with the first day at school. I wanted everything to be perfect, which was why I stayed late to give myself hours of beauty treatments. My aunt called me for hours and I didn’t answer her.I truly wanted to be grateful for all the help she gave me but there was that urge to believe she did it for something. She called me a monster. She would never understand how our wolves are part of us.After coming out wrapped in my towel, my hair sticking to my shoulders, I went to my room, where there was one bed and my two suitcases full of a few pajamas and all dresses. My aunt picked them up for me. She said I’d be better with them than my pants and all my hoodies. At least, she was helpful in something I didn’t expect I needed.“I can’t believe you’re here.”I

“So, are you going to tell us what you want or what? Will you keep hanging around, in my building, expecting me to overlook your annoying presence?”It was weird how he wasn’t teasing me about this. It was the perfect moment. I was vulnerable. Anyone could see it. The strong façade I showed this whole time turned into a weak expression full of terror. I didn’t even meet Frederick’s eyes. They were the same. He gave me the same vibe, as if he never changed.“I am here for my pack member,” he answered with his determined tone, as if he already made the choices in my stead. “She mustn’t be here but because she spent her whole life living with humans, I was lenient with her. But now, it’s over. I am taking her back.”No, no, no, no, no… I don’t want this.Adolphus looked at me, looking for the hint of defiance maybe but he didn’t find anything. I guess he was looking at what I was trying to hide this whole time under another face. My weakness and shame. Werewolves were all about strength

After slipping into my pyjamas, I looked at myself in the mirror. After realising that my wolf spoke in my head, I was happy and confused at the same time. It didn’t happen before.‘Do you remember that moment when Frederick beat Nialliv?’Yes, I do. I remember how it happened. I thought I was dead but I was still around.‘Yes, it happened. What Nialliv failed to realise is that killing you means killing me. We are one. That’s why I am a Sigma wolf. We are bonded to the soul not the body. If she took the wolf of another werewolf, it might have worked.’So, she knew that I am a Sigma.‘It seems she realised it late, yes.’Then why didn’t you talk to me before?‘I was weak. The two days you didn’t take the Adagoril, I worked hard to stay awake. Also, while you stayed with Greyson, I regained my strength slowly. We might not shift on our birthday but it won’t take long after it. We’ll just need to find an antidote.’Yes. I will work hard to find it. I have an idea of what I want to do.T

Three months later,I was finally back to this place everyone called campus, a school for werewolves with a different system. I knew I shouldn’t be here but there was still time till I could switch my life around.Alice linked her arm around mine, smirking. I couldn’t believe that her brother let her wear such an outfit. Well, I was no better but I didn’t have a brother to tell me what I should wear or not.The accident came to my mind, the one I had the first day I came to Saulville. It didn’t happen before.I wanted to know who hit me, who I angered with my presence.“Do you have any idea on who hit me that day?”I looked at Alice who had been preoccupied with a few girls giving us the evil eye. There was still a road ahead before we could consider ourselves inside the building.“Hit you?” She was confused for a moment but quickly remembered what I was talking about. “Ah! The accident! To be honest, no one knows. You were lucky that day. I heard that Frederick tried to look for who

Even if this happened, even if she was hurt, she wouldn’t just stop trying to be my friend.A tricky situation. I felt I didn’t belong where they belonged. Maybe I should have listened to the Second Ebony.‘You’re the Second Ebony. I am smarter. I should be first.’Yeah, whatever.“I thought you’d come and find me once you came back,” she turned her attention to me, for the first time bringing up a topic about me. “Why didn’t you? I thought you didn’t want to be her friend.”“Well, it’s complicated.”“Well,” she mimicked me. “You should make a choice. Your mother was a rogue so you’re a rogue too. You’re not part of any pack. I looked for Alice, because I wanted to clear things up between us. It was time to stop my bitchiness, as the Second Ebony called it, and accept her as my friend. I should also apologise but apologising wasn’t my forte.I would need to work on it.I sipped my coffee to wake me up. The taste was horrible as well as all the bullies ready to bully me. I spotted Sophia and Eleanor, talking to each other and turned my head away so they wouldn’t know I knew they were buddies.I nearly spat out my coffee when I heard an evil chuckle behind and I knew who it was. Definitely not the one I wanted to meet out there the first time I came back for school.I spun around, holding myself proudly and locked eyes with Luke and his smug grin.I thought I’d see a little surprise on his face or some kind of unexpected reaction but it wasn’t the case.“Monkey,” he started. “You look different somehow, more confident. “You can keep the clothes. I don’t need them,” the girl who lent me the tracksuit said, her expression uninterested. There was something about her familiar.I was in the changing room, holding the tracksuit in my hands. It didn’t look like it would fit me but I had to do it. The girl saw that as well and told me to keep it.“What’s your name?”“Why?”“I will bring you another tracksuit.”“Just keep it. You don’t have to give it back to me.”She left. I was the only one in the changing room because all the other girls left earlier. I spent hours so I was late.I hurriedly switched my dress to another one. Because I was paranoid, I stuffed my dress in my backpack and hid it with the equipment. It was better than leave it around for anyone to destroy it. It happened to me several times. The bullies picked my clothes from my locker and ruined them. No matter what I did, the bullying didn’t stop. Frederick could only comfort me. He acted as if he was trying his best but it wasn’t working.

Adolphus’ eyes gave me the chills. I realised as I waited for Easton that he had them on me from the beginning. When our gazes met, a shiver ran down my spine. But on one condition, I want you to be my partner for the next session and I will be the one to decide what we will do.”“Fine but don’t hold your hits, I won’t hold mine either. If you think that I disappeared to live the good life, consider yourself wrong. I trained and earned some skills. Three months wasn’t enough but I will prove to you all that I am no pushover.”He flinched and failed to hide it.It wouldn’t be that hard to guess that he was thinking if I heard them or not. Their conversation made them worse in my mind but it made Adolphus better. Maybe he was better without them.“Alright! Don’t regret this later, Future Omega.”“Omega? Why are you calling me Omega? It’s sad that Chronos isn’t around anymore but I think it’s for the better. Now, no one has to take meaningless responsibilities. I guess without them, everything will be peaceful.”“How do you know…?”I cut him off. “C’mon! You’re a smart man. You know there is no way a five years old child will talk like this. I’ve lived through two regressions and I’ve come back again as part of the plan, only this time, this is the final phase. We can’t lose.”“Ah! What happened? Why did Chronos disappear?”“My father was supposed to be the sacrifice. I don’t know why but unlike all the other Chronos sent, I am the only one who got to regress more than a decade. That’s why they left the burden to me. Since my father is still alive, I assume that Chronos took the hardest decision in his life. He chose to die and take the others with him. • All Over Again, My Dear Dark Alpha   Back Again

EBONY’S POV:I opened my eyes early in the morning. I drank my milk and sat with my parents having breakfast. They laughed together and nothing reminded me of these moments. I have been waiting for my father’s heart attack for two weeks now and it didn’t happen.I checked my tattoo mark and it was there, just faint and impossible to notice.“Sweetie, do you want more milk? You’ve been sipping on your glass while it’s empty,” my mother said.Mom had long black hair and the palest, bluest eyes I’ve ever seen. They weren’t the normal typical blue. They were lighter and paler, as if they were diluted by white and became as blue as the sky early in the morning when the sun had finally settled in place.“Yes, mom.”And I was five.I couldn’t believe that it worked. My father was sitting there, wearing glasses and reading his early morning newspapers. Our house was small and it was full of magical artifacts. Maybe because I was five, I didn’t remember them. Or maybe because a lot happened af

  • All Over Again, My Dear Dark Alpha   Frederick

FREDERICK’S POV:I stood outside, thinking about everything that happened to me, all the regressions, the people we lost. I’ve grown numb to all the deaths. As long as Adolphus was alive, there was always a chance to change the outcome. My final role was to kill him. For the regression to happen, he had to die after her. Now, whether we wanted it or not, things would never be the same. I would go back to the kid I was and Adolphus would go back to his old self too. To be honest, I was always jealous of how he had a choice in remembering or not.He got out of the underground cell built specifically for today.“You certainly put so much into this,” he said.“Of course. But this is where our role stops. No matter how much we want to influence things with our current memories, it won’t ever happen. We won’t remember anything.”“It’s true. But this is the price we have to pay if we want it to work. We only need to someone to warn them. They will do the rest. If it doesn’t work again, then

I was trying to make a plan to fix things but it seemed all the effort I spent on that was a waste.“Adolphus, please be gentle.”Adolphus was confused. “Aren’t you mad that I killed your father?”“I’m sure he wanted that. He didn’t play a big role in my life so it doesn’t matter. But can you untie me?”He didn’t untie me because Frederick was ready to shoot me. But thinking about it, didn’t he kill me before too? No, he said that Adolphus must have poisoned me so I was dying anywhere. But I didn’t cough blood, which meant it could be that I wasn’t poisoned.‘Don’t overthink. These jerks planned a lot that they won’t say. Well, since we have no choice, let’s just wait till they settle their score. Maybe they’ll fight.’“Wait a second, you look like shit. I shifted back to my human form.“You’re late,” he said. “I expected you to get here faster.”“Where is Ebony?”“With Frederick.”“Alright! I will go find her.”“I am afraid that you can’t do that,” he waved his hand and something shifted in the air. “You have to stay with me here. I want to fight you.”“What are you planning, both of you?” I growled. “She’s your daughter.”“I know.”“And you want to leave her alone.”“Frederick said that every time, you said the same words. That’s why the plan was for you to hate her but you still didn’t do that. He wanted you to hate her, to reject her while she wasn’t aware that you’re her mate. But it didn’t happen. I know why a part of phase 2 failed. When planning, no one thought of how my daughter is a variable.”“You won’t stop me.”I shifted and started running. He didn’t stop me. I thought he was all ta

And where was my father? The cell was dark. I couldn’t see anything. I tried to move my hands but they were tied. I was on a chair. I had to wait for a long time. I lost track of counting. Maybe it was the third time I reached one hundred.‘This is getting weird. We were with dad and then everything went black. Any idea?’Yeah, but I don’t wanna say it.‘Ammm… Yeah. Horrible. Dad is a jerk.’After what seemed like an eternity, the door opened. It was behind me and I finally caught sight of a lamp and a desk in front of me. Someone stepped inside. I felt him in my bones. I was a wolf. I was running as fast as I could in the forest, forgetting everything that happened to me. It was so wholesome that I didn’t have to think about anything else. Nothing mattered but running.I felt freedom. Being one with the wind. For thirty years, I’ve never shifted once and here I was, running like a wolf. Nova was happy too. We were happy, ecstatic even. It was a feeling I’ve never felt before.I kept running and running, the wind over my fur but I didn’t feel cold. On the contrary, I felt complete. I finally had the chance to become what I was, a werewolf. We rolled in the grass, chased a few rabbits but didn’t catch them and howled. For the first time, I felt like a child.I didn’t care about anything else.I only stopped when the moon felt so wholesome. If this was how shifting worked, I didn’t want it.I heard a crack on my back and then a series of similar sounds followed, but it was slow. So slow that it put me into agony. I wished to sleep it off. Or maybe give my wolf control. Can you take over?‘I am. Why do you think it hurts? It’s because I am taking complete control. Your body is fighting it because you have Wildknight blood.’I felt a warm hand on my hair. It caressed me and then, I smelled something. It was like a smoke that made the pain fade.
