It feels like everything around me stopped. All I can see is his face. The face I have not seen in fourteen years. It is older, and there is a scar that I don't remember him having above his eye. There is no doubt in my mind that it is him. It is my brother. It is Jax. What is he doing here? How did he get here? I start seeing spots, and I blink to clear them. It does no good, and everything goes black. I can hear my name, and arms wrap around me before the darkness takes me.
I awake and blink. It must have been a dream. I feel my bed underneath me, and it is comfortable. I roll to my side and see Alex sitting in a chair with his head in his hands. "Hey," I say lightly, not wanting to scare him. His head flies up, and his eyes lock with mine. "Oh, Thank you, Goddess." He says, dropping to his knees and taking my hand. "Are you ok? What happened?" He asked me, and that's when it hit me that it was no dream. We were really at the founI am not sure what to say to him. Part of me wants to tell him the truth, but I also know that I need to think about him and what he has been through."You look like someone I used to know," I tell him looking down at the floor."Was his name Jax?""Yes, I am sorry if I hurt you by calling you Jax.""No need to apologize. You look familiar. Have we met before?" I want to scream yes, and you are my brother. But I hold it together and hope he doesn't see the storm inside me."I am not sure. I guess it is possible. Have you lived in this pack your whole life?" I know I already know the answer, but I hope he will open up and tell me."For as long as I can remember," he says, running his hand over his head. I figure I am going to have to keep the conversation going myself."I was born in a pack in Wyoming, but I ended up at the Fullmoon Pack when I was young.""And now sh
ChampI knew when I laid eyes on her that I knew her, but I didn't know-how. Then she passed out, and my wolf Max went on alert. He wanted to protect her. I convinced him that no one could shield her better than our Alpha. So when Alexander asked me to come to his house for a visit, I was shocked and surprised. I have hung out with Alexander at some of the pack gatherings but not at his home. With his mate now here, our Luna, I would think that he would want to be alone with her. But who am I to question what he wants. So I head to his house, and Max is getting more anxious. He is pacing back and forth in my head."Hey, what's wrong with you?" I ask Max, hoping it will calm him down."I don't know." He responds and then continues to pace. I don't say anything else as I am almost at the Alpha's door.I knock softly when I reach the door cause I know they will hear it. It doesn't take long for the door to open, and Alex
I have my shower done, and I can't help but pace the room. Alex is in the shower now, and the thought of him in the next room with no clothes on and water running down his body should have my mind running amuck. But instead, I am pacing this floor, worried about what Juliana and Shawn overheard. I know it can't be good. Finally, I hear the water turn off, trying to slow my pacing. I don't want Alex to know I am this stressed out. I have not even shared everything about myself with him. I know deep inside that I can trust him. We have not had time to get to everything."I could hear your heartbeat in the bathroom. Are you ok?" Alex says as he steps out of the bathroom. I turn to look at him, and my mouth goes dry. He still has water droplets running down his chest to his abs, and the steam is rolling out of the bathroom behind him. He looks stunning standing there."You keep looking at me like that, and I can not promise to be a good boy." He s
Alexander, Taking my shower, all I could hear and concentrate on was Ivy's heartbeat. I could hear it racing. I could tell she was pacing around the room. I didn't take my time. I rushed through my shower and got out, half drying off and throwing on my sweat pants. I open the door to see Ivy doing precisely what I thought she would be doing. Her eyes traveled over my body, and I could see the heat. She wanted me as bad as I wanted her."You keep looking at me like that, and I can not promise to be a good boy." Her eyes finally meet mine, and the fire is there, but I also see the hesitation."I'm...Sorry." Comes out, but I don't want her to be sorry. I step toward her taking my hand and placing it on her hip. Her body sends electricity through me."Never say sorry for looking at me like you want to explore every inch of me," I tell her, and my body heats at the thought of her running her hands over me. I lean and kiss h
"I can't lose you," That is all that rings through my head. He isn't mad that I am Royal. He is upset that he didn't know to keep me safe. I don't speak right away. Instead, I make my way over to him and place my hand on his shoulder. He turns, and our eyes meet. I can see the truth and hurt in his eyes. I feel my heart knot at the thought that I hurt him by not telling him. I place my hand on the side of his face. "I have been told since the day I shifted not to tell anyone and not to show my wolf to anyone. I had to wait and see the type of person you were first. I had to know I could trust you." "Why did you look scared of me?" He asks, and I see the hurt in his eyes. "I was startled, not scared. I didn't want you to be mad at me. I have had to keep this secret to stay safe. The only people that know who I am are Juliana and Shawn. They have helped me keep it a secret. I don't know
Alexander She is the most amazing woman I have ever seen. I have been lying here watching her sleep for a while, but I can't take my eyes off her. I don't want to wake her. She looks peaceful, and I know she has a hard time sleeping. "Our mate is perfect," Max says as a purr leaves him. "Did you just purr like a cat?" I say as I laugh to myself. "I can't help it. She is so purfect..." We both laugh at his corky humor. But, all joking aside, he is right. She is perfect in all ways. "We have to develop a plan to keep her safe," Max says, and I know he is right. "I know, and the first thing is keeping who she is a secret until the Luna ritual. We need to have it as soon as possible, and now that we are both marked, there should be no delay." "We also need to investigate who is responsible for the death of her parents and her people," Max says with a hostile growl. I feel the same way he does because whoever is responsible for the death of the Royals will come looking for her.
I see the shock on Juliana and Shawn's faces, but then I notice the look on Alex's face, which makes me question if I should have said it like that. But then, when I look at Champ, I see why the look was on Alex's face. He is staring at me like I have three heads. Does he not remember? "I'm sorry... I shouldn't have yelled it out like that." I am not sure if I am telling him that or me. He sets his cup on the bar and turns back to me, but the look on his face is different. He walks toward me, and I see Alex tense up. When he is in front of me, he grabs me, hugging me and lifting me off the floor. The tears break loose and roll down my face as I wrap my hands around his neck. "Don't be sorry. I didn't know what you knew and didn't know. I didn't want to ask you in front of everyone. It's good to have you back, Lil sister." "So now I'm in third place. This sucks." Juliana says, but I hear the humor in her voice even though I can also hear she is crying by the sound of her voice. W
We finished up eating and chatted some more about what had been going on back at the Fullmoon pack. Chris is a true psycho. He plans on kidnapping me and making me mate his son so that he will receive the powers that I grant my mate. I would die before mating Liam. Juliana and Shawn are going to the training grounds to help Alex control his new abilities, and I am meeting Jax in the woods behind the house to learn to change Ember's color. "I wish we could have changed color before I could have run more." "I know, Ember. I am sorry that I didn't know we could do that. Now you will be able to run whenever we want without worrying about anyone seeing you." "Yes, and I can't wait. I wish I had known it was Chris. I would have killed him for what he did to our family." "I guess it wasn't time to find out. I know the Goddess has plans for us. But, first, we will avenge everyone in our pack." Ember agrees with a growl as I come upon Jax standing at the edge of the woods. I give him
