Minutes Later...
Standing by the side of the road, still puzzled about everything. A keke napep (tricycle) stopped in front of me as Adunni came out.
"OMG Aisha!" Dunni threw a hug on me.
"It's been a while. Are you traveling?"
"No, I'm not oo. You didn't even visit me in the hospital. Its not fair.. I actually waited for you
"Really? Pardon me my friend. My mum sent to Agege to stay with her sister that just gave birth to a set of twins. Well, I spent only five days there and I wanted to visit you but... "
"Hmmm, Dun-ni.... As in?" I joked as we laughed away.
"I heard about the incident from my mum and other colleagues. Is it true? Tell me, what happened?!"
"Yes, My friend... I don't even know what to tell you now. I was asked to leave the house. Dad said I should leave his house if I can't abort the baby."
"What?! Tell me it's a lie. Daddy can't do that, you're his daughter! Where on earth did he expect you to stay?!"
"He did oo... My mum's brother resides in Kano, And we don't have any relative around. I just need a place to rest my head for a moment, I'm so confused. Asking in my soul for direction, It's good I met you today."
"Don't be so emotional now, dearie. I believe you and I believe in you. Have faith that everything would be okay. Have you eaten? Pass the night with me and lets talk better." Dunni proposed.
The words her mum told me started playing in my head, I can't even face her again.
"No...no o, I'm totally cool Dunni. I think my dad would still let me in. I have a feeling to go home, he might just welcome me." I faked a big, bright smile that actually seemed awkward.
"I'll see you later, dunni. Bye-bye!" About to leave, dunni held my hand back.
"Wait! Are you going to treck?" She quirked her eyebrow in a funny way.
"Errrm... I ca-can manage, I'll be fine." I laughed even harder.
"Aisha, Why are you like this? What are sisters for if you're not even free around me. I know there's a lot we need to talk about right now, but..." She paused for a while and let out an heavy breath.
"Come on, lets go." She interlocked my arm with hers and stopped a keke napep (tricycle). We both entered and zoomed off the busy street.
I couldn't believe my eyes when I approached the gate to my dad's house.
Hajiya Mariam Ikudaisi, my mum's school daughter then in grammar school. She's also a representative in Abuja, working in National Aseembly.
Hajia mariam has been married for 12 years now, She's barren.
When we came down from the tricycle, I saw her standing with Danlamin.
"Hajia Mariam!" I called out and gave her a hug Assalam 'Alaikum ma, when did you come?!"
"Wa 'alaikum sallam, Sisi mi!! How have you been? Alhamdulillah... Thank God I found you. Danlamin was just about telling me what happened..." She cuppped my face in her soft hands.

"You would have followed me home and you wouldn't have to leave like this. I guess this is a good bye for both of us..." Dunni muttered sadly."I'll miss you, Dunni." I held her hands tight and broke into tears again."God knows I'll miss you more. Try to call me, Aisha. Keep me posted and try to visit whenever you can, okay?""Okay, I sure will. Bye for now, sis.""Okay bye!!!"Adunni stopped a keke napep and zoomed off the empty road. I recited a prayer in my heart as we moved. It was the first time, leaving my family behind like this."Awunaka Yaa Hannan, Awunaka Yaa Sultaan : I solicit Your help, The most Compassionate, I solicit Y
Months Later...Hajia and I walked into the city's general hospital. We entered one doctor's office and as it is, Hajia Maryam regularly visits the general hospital."Assalam 'Alaikum." Hajia greeted as she knocked the door."Amin Alaikum Sallam. Please, Come in"A deep muscular voice replied from inside."You're welcome ma" He kindly greeted "Please, take a seat."I and hajia sat in from of him."Pleased to have you around ma, what shall I offer you?" He said, adjusting his glasses. He asked staring at me. I looked away, feeling shy and strangely awkward."No...Not
Mum stared at me in amazement.Doctor Abdullah asked."Have you ever aborted?"My heart suddenly sank to his titanic question, leaving about a million thoughts in my head."Never!" I replied coldly."Then it should be how you are born. You were born with a perforated womb."'How possible?' I smirked for a while, everything seem confusion and is still confusing to me."I'll advice you really have to reduce stress. Once you hit 7 months, you'll have to come for check-up in the hospital.""What?! But why?" Mum cuts in. Her eyes requesting immediate answers.
Just then, Imam Hussain walked in. Ibrahim rushed to him as he didn't want to spill the bean with his own mouth either. The expression on his sweaty face was like 'It was all dad's fault.'"Honey. Òkòò mi,Òlòwò òrì mi! È káábò..." She threw her hands around him and held him tightly. Ibrahim ran back, watching them both as if he wasn't."Where's Aisha? It's been 3 weeks since I got dischaged and I've not set my eyes on her? Neither have I heard from her as well. What's going on? Please, talk to me."Imam Hussain looked dumpfounded as he was totally speechless."Errrr..... Aisha is fine." He started thinking of words to calm her down. He didn't want to lie or cause any m

***A week Later,My Waec result was out and It was a distinctionful, excellent result that deserves waiting for. She clinged to my hand all through and persuaded to drop me off. I opposed but she insisted. We went to where she parked her car and she put all the baggage into the boot. It was a white model 6, Lexus jeep. She said her dad presented it to her last year, on her sweet-sixteenth birthday. I wanted a lab-coat for my 16th birthday; but my dad bought me a wrist-watch instead.I only heard her parents were filthy rich. As she was born and brought up in South Africa. Her dad own hospitals in various places, in and out of the country while her mum is a senior advocate in the University of Abuja."I so admire you, Aisha. Your way of life and the way you recite Qur'an...""Really?... Zainab!" I blushed.
***12: 00 p.m.It's been six hours now and the rain just stopped. I sat on a piece of stone, gazing at the hot, shinny ball rising in the blue sky. How I wish the sun would understand my feelings, heal my wounds or perhaps, send Mrs. Akerele to open the gates.I was still outside, knocking. Why is Hajia Maryam doing this to me? She picked me from my fathers house and promised to be my guide and support. Why did she lock me outside in this condition? Where exactly did I go wrong? Is it so wrong to raise my children as my own?I couldn't stop myself from crying as I thought of these. I kept hitting the gate with a pebble. I knocked louder and louder again, till I got tired. Nobody helped me and I had nowhere to go. I had no other option than to w
