Chapter 3

WHEN they got into the cab, they are still happy like how they are earlier, it seems like they never run out of something to talk about.

It's the first time he saw her like this before he was only trying to play with her, he knows that she's easy. He didn't know that he'll fall for her, but unlike her, he didn't fall hard, he wasn't really sure about what he felt for her. But one thing is for sure, he didn't know that he loved her, he didn't know that he was really serious. He unconsciously got trapped into her charms, maybe the reason he didn't know that he loves her is because he's afraid and ignorant of the feeling.

He felt relief right now, her laughs are genuine and so is his. Maybe because he's not blind anymore. Maybe, her leaving him was his eye-opener. It showed him that he needed her and he can't take it if she leaves.

They were so happy and elated. But they didn't know the dangers that are lingering on the same road that they are in. A road that would completely wreck them and take everything from them. Being too happy isn't good, maybe Peter Pan was right, thinking happy thoughts will make you fly...

In split second they felt floating, suspended in the air. Before there was happiness in their eyes, now there's only terror and fear. As the glass shatters, so is the chance they had.

They were suspended in the air with the car rolling and stopped when their bodies are full of wounds, cuts, and the driver is swimming in his own pool of blood. Nakabaliktad ang sasakyan nang tumigil ito.

Hawak nila ang kamay ng isa't isa at yakap ni Pyros si Zaph at pareho silang nawalan ng malay.

MABILIS na nakarating si Zio sa ospital na tumawag sa kanya. Nang makita ang kalagatan ng dalawa ay agad siyang nagpatawag ng doktor. Agad na tinawagan ni Zio si Pat, ang ex niya na kapatid ni Pyros.

"P-Pat, si Pyros-" she walked past him and walked directly to Pyros, then she burst into tears. She pretended not to see him and so, he just walked towards Zaph, his sister needs him more.

THEIR happiest moment turned into a nightmare. Their second chance got wasted... or was there really a chance for the both of them?

But a new chance to fix themselves is given. A chance without a memory to make new ones. A chance without each other. And the chance to start anew.

After the accident, Patricia went back home to the Philippines with Pyros and had a deal with the Andrejez's.

The deal was to keep the past behind and not to tell Pyros and Zaphyra what relationship they had. And never let them meet, to avoid a sudden regain of their memory together.

That was years ago and now they both have a good life. Pyros and Alexis are official and he is planning to propose to her. While Zaphyra is known by the public as Zaphire-a famous fashion designer. Sure is six years had done many things.

Both had comas but, Zaphyra is declared more critical and she stayed like that for half a year. It also caused her to go to an ophthalmologist by herself on appointments due to what she discovered in her eyes.

SIRIUS went to New York to pursue Zaph, he had been courting her for four long years and got rejected five times already but, he's really persistent.

Zaph became a famous fashion designer that is asked to do a project back to back, a project after another. All her designs are priceless, simple, but elegant. And her most beautiful creation is named Pyroxia, a beautiful crimson red cocktail dress that she designed for her mom, Arqienna Andrejez.

Tonight she is going to a fashion show, she was invited by the owner of the brand and reserved a V.I.P. seat for her. She arrived earlier than the other V.I.P.'s so, she had the chance to look around, she also checked the list and the names that stuck into her mind are Alexis Torallba and Pyros Jimenez. Coincidentally, the two seats to her right in their seats, she raised her brows because of that.

Shortly after that, the guests and press started arriving and the show started but, her seatmates didn't come, although that didn't bother her at all. Maybe she just can't stop thinking about the two. Their names are a bit familiar, she shrugged the thought and sighed.

After the show, she is also invited to the after-party but she declined. She wants- needs to rest and have a break. She got home straight to her unit, she went to her bedroom and plopped into her bed.

"Ah, cozy and warm." Sabi niya habang isinisiksik ang sarili niya sa comforter habang nakapikit ang mga mata. Seconds after, she got up again and walked to the bathroom, and took a bath.

She was taking a bath when her phone beeped. She immediately stood up from the tub and covered herself, then she checked the message.

From: Mr. Serious

I got a flight to Paris, I'll arrive a day after you.

She heaved a sigh, she's not yet into relationships but Sirius is very persistent and clingy. Yet she just let him do the things he wants to do, Sirius is just a... friend for her. She still hasn't found the one for her.

A friend who can make her heart flutter.

PYROS and Alexis are in Paris and in just two days Pyros will propose marriage to her. He loves her and it's true, but sometimes Alexis becomes overboard, she asks for making love.

"Love, where do you want to go when we arrive in Paris?" he asked her while sitting comfortably on the plane.

"Uhm Love, where are we going to stay? What hotel?" she asked with a twinkle in her eyes.

"I booked a room in The Peninsula, three months ago," he said and looked at her. He can sense that she's thinking of something else to do. "Love... I'm going to tour you on Paris, please stop insisting the-making-love thingy," he added that made her pout.

It took long hours before they arrived in Paris. When they got there ay nag-ikot muna sila, there's still two days before Pyros proposes to Alexis...

The day of the proposal...

WHEN Sirius arrived at the airport he immediately called Zaph and asked her for a date, knowing Zaph, she's not busy so she will come.

When they met at a very famous restaurant in Paris, he pulled out a chair for her. Well any decent man would do that, right?

"What would you like for dinner ma'am?" asked the server.

"For starters, I would like to have a Filet Mignon. And Garden Salad..." she said and handed the menu back.

"Sir?" the server turned to Sirius. "Just the two of that and lemon water, please," he said and smiled at the waiter as it walked away.

Silenced enveloped their atmosphere. And Sirius decided to break it, "How's your flight?" he asked and she turned her attention to him.

"Fine. No turbulence or any..." she replied and heaved a sigh. She's bothered but she doesn't know why. She keeps on playing with her dress.

"You look stunning... as always." She can feel his sincerity as he smiled at her and looked in love. She's having second thoughts if she just likes him as a friend or is it more...

She smiled and chuckled a bit, "I know that lagi mo naman sinasabi sa'kin 'yan," she proudly said while shaking her head. "besides, everybody tells me that." She added and flipped her hair.

Sirius chuckled at what she claimed. She's right and soon she'll be mine... Penny for his thoughts aye?

When they saw the waiter approaching with their order, he saw the twinkle in her eyes. She's really a food monster. How can Pyros cheat on her? he looked at her bothered and with pity.

"Hey! Are just going to stare at me?" she joked and Sirius' reply made her still. "Oh that's the purpose of my life. Stare at your beauty..." he said and smirked then turned to his food.

She felt her heart flutter with that. It's actually the first time she felt such ease with him. It looks like she had fallen for him unconsciously.

She can't help but smile and blush.

"You're smiling..." he said when he turned his attention back to her. He smiled when he saw her blush and bit her lower lip. He felt contented and genuinely happy because he can feel that Zaph became more comfortable around him.

WAITING is for suckers, but Sirius chose to wait for Zaph, and for four long years, he knows that he gained progress. He just needs to get her completely away from meeting Pyros.

After their dinner, they went to a hill that overlooks Paris and continued their chitchat. They are so happy until he saw her still.

He raised his brows and asked her, "What's wrong?" he is curious but he saw her face, she is curious too. It looks like something popped into her mind.

"This..." she looked at him clueless and unsure. "-this is familiar. It felt like it happened before." she said and looked back onto the night sky.

Is this what happened before the accident? He creased his brows by the thought. Maybe it's familiar because it happened before, but when did it happen?

He was about to say something when his phone rang. "You're the witness! Where are you?!" he heard as he answered the call. And that made him realize that he promised his time to someone also.

"Zaph... I have somewhere to go. I'll drive you back to your hotel," he said and she nodded but...

"I'm planning to stay here for a while, I'll just take the cab," she said and looked back at the beautiful view of Paris.

"Are you sure?" he asked once again. And he saw her nod. So, he took his leave and went to The Peninsula.

She felt the scene very familiar. When Sirius left, she can't help but wonder.

"It's the first time he left me on our date... Is that really important?" she whispered and sighed. She immediately hailed a cab and asked the driver to follow Sirius' car.

SIRIUS arrived at The Peninsula Hotel. Pyros, his best bud is proposing to Alexis, the girl who ruined Pyros and Zaphyra. The girl who pretended to be Pyros' long-time girlfriend, where in fact, she just snaked him from her best friend.

But Pyros is blind and numb to feel that there's something behind those looks that Alexis, Sirius, and Zitron exchange. Maybe because the truth is covered deep down a hole and no one might be able to reveal it.

As Sirius saw Alexis, he greeted her and put on a blindfold. "Sirius, you better not kidnap me!" she said and Sirius chuckled. "You're not a kid now Alexis." He said and guided her to the event venue.

When the door opened for the, he saw Pyros smiling on the stage. It gave him an idea of why everything is familiar. It is just exactly how Pyros surprised Zaph on their sixth anniversary. His jaw clenched, maybe ideas from the heart don't get forgotten, it's still there because it's pure out of love.

"Seriously... what is the blindfold for?" she asked and tried to take it off but Sirius tapped her hands and whispered.

"He's going to propose to you dimwit, just go with the flow." He said and chuckled, it's supposed to be a surprise but this is what he also did back then.

"Oh!" Alexis jolted. And acted clueless, perks of being a model and an endorser.

ZAPH followed Sirius and arrived at The Peninsula Hotel. And with that, she became more curious.

"Excuse me, is there a Sirius Levistre here?" she asked the information teller. She couldn't believe her eyes, it's Zaphire the famous fashion designer in front of her.

"Excuse me... Can you please check if-" she couldn't finish her sentence when she saw someone familiar?

"Zitron!" she shouted and the man looked shocked to see her there. She walked towards her and she noticed that he's uneasy.

"Is there something wrong?" she asked but the man gave her a nervous smile. "By the way, are you meeting with Sirius here? Nasaan siya?" she continued to ask him:

"Z-zaph, I think... you shouldn't be here..." he said and that made her creased her forehead...
