"No catch," Lee said smoothly. "Just good business. We believe in building strong, profitable relationships. We know what you bring to the table, and we respect that."

A slow smile spread across Tony’s face, genuine this time. "I like your style. Alright, you’ve got my attention. We’ll do a trial run. If everything goes as smoothly as you say, we’ll talk long-term.”

"Excellent," Lee said. We shared a look between and then raised our glasses. "To a prosperous partnership."

Tony raised his own glass, the glint of ambition in his eyes. "To prosperity.” I gave a slight nod to my partner when Tony brought the glass to his lips, I excused myself and left the room, the heavy door clicked shut behind me, muffling the low hum of conversation. The hallway outside was quieter, the thick carpet absorbing the noise from the club. I made my way toward the washroom.
