The mayor's wife stared at him for a few seconds and finally stepped out of the way. "Good," he replied. Afterward, he walked toward the door of Mrs. Harold's house and kicked it open. Selene's father waited outside the door. At first, he could not understand what was taking Aryan so long. In his opinion, all that Aryan had to do was go in, make a scene, prove that Adele was innocent, and his daughter would be released and sent back to him. But then, nothing happened. He tried to eavesdrop on their conversation, but he couldn't really hear much. It was as though he had been blocked. He held the handle of the door and pushed it a little open when he realized it was not locked. He was finally able to hear the conversation they were having.From where he stood, he could see only the sheriff's face, but she seemed relaxed. As they all heard Selene's father's voice, Aryan, his father, and his mother turned to see that Selene's father had entered their house without their consent. He was on his knees and when his eyes met Aryans', Aryan smiled. He knew that Selene's father had overheard their conversation, which was exactly what he wanted.
