Chapter 9
Alcantara Walters.
I struggled to stand and listen to the words of the psychopath that had me glued to him this morning.
He looked at me like I was the only interesting thing that had ever occurred to him in this wicked life of his and it got me scared.
How could someone who had just met me in one day make me quiver to this extent? I remembered my brother’s advice when he would usually tell me that eyes don’t lie.
Right now with the way this man looked at me coupled with the words he was speaking.
It is confirmed.
He is… Mentally unstable.
It all makes sense now, why his mother would be kidnapping me and forcing me to marry her son.
I was right in the first place no one would want to stay with such a man, no matter how dashing he looked up close with his evil hazel eyes that could snare anyone under the sheets with him.
What the hell am I thinking?
It’s almost as if my body is having a conflict with my mind.
What the hell was this man trying to do to me?
I look away from him when he says those words.
“You have imprisoned me Tara and the fucked-up thing is that I like this prison so very fucking much.”
“I feel uncomfortable right now, Alphonso can you please let me go”
He hesitates and slowly his hand slips out of my waist and I find myself for a second wishing that it stayed there longer and that he would be headstrong and not listen.
But then I remembered last night and a chill travels through my spine.
“Last night…” I struggled to find the right words to ask him as I couldn’t get the images of those men out of my head.
“The men your mother was punishing…Are they….”
He looks at me with seriousness in his eyes as he replies.
“If you are asking if they are alive, well they are not, I told you already; the world doesn’t know who we are and what we do that’s why whenever someone joins our family, they either stay or leave in a body bag.”
Oh my God, oh my freaking…
“Are you saying that you are the mafia organization?”
He grins at my question without replying.
“I will be leaving for a meeting; would you like to join me.”
I was terrified. The last time he tried to take me to see something, I almost puked on myself if I hadn’t fallen unconscious.
As if he had read my mind he adds.
“Don’t worry there will be no blood this time, it is just a meeting, outside the mansion”
I widened my eyes to be sure I had just heard him right.
“Are you trying to tell me that I can leave these four walls?”
He hoots “I told you that you have not been kidnapped, just selected.”
I eye him. “Your mother told me that I had been collected.”
“My mother has no heart, so answer me, would you like to go with me then Mami?”
“Who am I to refuse, I need to see a different sun from the one the Manuel family has been showing me.”
This is excellent, I can now plan my escape perfectly, sneak when he least knows it, and disappear forever.
he takes hold of my hand and I find myself thrilled to walk out of the door with him. Finally, I could run away and leave this life of madness before it even begins.
He looks at me excitedly and smiles.
“We could go shopping after this, buy new clothes and have fun.”
I couldn’t even hear half of what he was saying, the only thing on my mind was escaping and leaving this place.
I could take advantage of how he feels for me and use that as the key to my escape.
Everything was finally becoming surreal now; I finally felt a sense of hope. Since Alphonso decided that he would take me shopping I felt so glad that I had found my escape route. We came out of the building to where the cars were all parked, and before I could knew what was happening, I and Alphonso were now, somehow surrounded by an unnecessarily large number of bodyguards. Seriously, who needs this many people to go shopping?
Three Bugatti cars were in front of us and I was shocked.
He gracefully led me inside the car and got inside with me.
I stare at him in annoyance.
“Why do you need so many people for a meeting? And even for taking a girl shopping?”
He grinned.
“They are just doing their job which is to protect their Boss and his soon to be Wife,”
I cringe.
Let's see if you would have a wife after today.
I think about the conversation we had earlier and I decide to ask him.
“Do you and your mother have to kill people all the time?”
He looks at me with no known emotion on his face and replies.
“We only do this to people that aren’t part of the family, those that are against the family, and those that betray us. And besides Tara, everyone that is born will surely die, we are just a quicker approach to those that seek death.”
He then turns away to stay at the window like someone thinking of various things.
How the hell was he able to say such a thing with a straight face?
And besides I wasn’t seeking death! so why were they trying to kill me if I ran away from the mansion?
I shake my head.
Well, whatever, all I have to do is plot my escape since this seems like the only chance I have.
Let’s freaking go for this meeting
Our Alcantara is a little mischievous don't you think?
Chapter 10Alphonso’s pov.-Five years ago-I had just walked into one of my favorite clubs and moved my way to the VIP spot made for me as I didn’t want to be disturbed.I watched the strippers there to entertain me with intent but at that time I wasn’t feeling too fuckery at the moment.Just then a message notification pops up in my phone.BOSS HE IS NOW IN THE CARI smiled and decided to call him about the business I had come for.By Him. I meant Antonio Blanco, the thorn in my flesh and the thief who dared to steal my billion-dollar deal.I dial his number and wait for his response.“Who is this?” I hear his voice ask and I speak.“Antonio Blanco, I see you must be having a wonderful evening.?”He must have been so irritated by my voice that I heard his exasperated sigh.“What do you want Mr Manuel?”I grin, it’s time to show the other card.“I’ve got a question for you.?”I say trying to rile him up a little bit.“Ride or die, Antonio?”I ask and he replies in confusion.“If you a
Chapter 11AlcantaraWhy does the universe seem to be against me in this moment of my life?I can’t believe this man had just ruined my chances to escape and leave this place. I glare at him, as he just stands there, grinning at me like this is all some twisted joke.Even behind the sleek black nose mask that covered half his face, I could see that self-satisfied smirk of his. It’s funny how a person’s arrogance can seep through any barrier, no matter how hard they try to hide it.“There’s always a price for leaving the mansion Mami,”He says, his voice smooth and taunting, as though he’s relishing each word. His dark eyes glimmered with something I couldn’t quite name. It felt like a mix of amusement and cruelty that made my skin crawl.“You know I can’t help you run away from me, Alcantara. I mean, you are my princess, and as your prince, I have to stay by your side at all times.”The audacity of his words hit me like a slap. What the fuck does he think he is? I feel my pulse quick
Chapter 12Alphonso…I was now bored watching Antonio be treated with him still not telling us the business we came for.I had to ask, I didn’t want my princess to be Uncomfortable.“We don’t have all the time in the world, so tell me what business proposition you have,”I said, trying to keep things moving. Blanco sat across from us, looking too relaxed now his wounds had been treated. He leaned back, still wearing that self-satisfied grin. “Okay”He pushed some documents to me and continued.“I recently bought a two-billion-dollar tourist hotel in Thailand—top location, luxury suites, the works extremely beautiful and I want you to invest with a ten percent interest rate. We could make a lot of money together.”I raised an eyebrow, unimpressed.“ Ten percent interest you say? And how do I know this isn’t some kind of trap?”Blanco started to respond, but then Tara’s flinching distracted me a bit. I noticed her squirming in her seat. She was tugging at the handcuffs, clearly irritate
Chapter one. Alcantara Walters.I just marched angrily to the company’s building in annoyance and disgust. A security guard tried stopping me on sight but I was able to dodge his attempt to grab me relentlessly and used the elevator before he could get to me. Of course, due to my messy look and scattered hair, I looked like I didn’t belong in that environment, like a woman on drugs or something. Little do these people know that I am the secret wife of their owner and CEO, Pascal Danvers and Sadly, that was all going to change from today. While inside I could see the reddening of my face on the reflection of the mirror-like elevator walls. I gripped the Divorce papers in my hands. It was now or never. My heart kept beating fast but I consoled myself by remembering why I was doing this. When the doors opened up to the 25th floor which happened to be Pascal’s Office, I rushed past the receptionist and barged into his office, I could hear her yell at me to stop and that he was in
Chapter Two Alphonso ManuelThere were two kinds of people I hated. The first one were slow witted people and the second kind are the ones that lie to my face. And unfortunately, I was going to deal with the second kind of person right this instant. I am standing in the torturing chambers staring at one of the useless beings that used to work for the Manuel family, my family. A liar and a betrayer of the family, a snitch to the core. Ten of my guards joined me in this quest as his case was a very critical one. No one betrayed the family and let go easily. They were always made to face a slow and painful death. When we got to the room he was in.I took off my suit and passed it to the guard beside me. My little prisoner in question was tied kneeling and was shaking heavily as he saw me. I relished in this a lot. The fear in the eyes of this lousy betraying leeches. “Boss, please forgive me, it was the devils doing,” Now this is what got me so irritated, those that blamed th
Chapter three. Alcantara Walters.I opened my eyes and saw a golden ceiling before me, the room was spacious and huge and I started to wonder if I was in heaven already. I tried slipping out of the bed but I clumsily pushed down a little golden calling bell that was beside me and its loud noise began to echo in the room. Just then I started hearing a lot of footsteps. It sounded like people marching up the stairs, in a minute the door in the room flew open and seven women in maid uniforms carrying a lot of dishes came into the room. I opened my mouth in shock. As an older and friendly-looking maid of the seven came a bit closer to talk to me. “Good morning, Miss, it is a pleasure to serve you this morning, we have arranged a full-course breakfast which has been prepared by our very fine chef Sir Angus of great Ireland. We hope it will be to your liking” I stared mutely at the woman unable to say a word as I watched them bring a footed large tray on the bed and drop all the food
Chapter four Alphonso ManuelIt wasn't until evening that I was finally able to see my mother. I barged into her chambers to question her on the recent news I just heard. She was firm in telling me.“You will like her, Trust your mother” I sighed in frustration, I still enjoyed my single life, finding a wife now was a delay on my part. I don’t even like women past the bed stage, what would make this woman different? “What is her name?” My mother sat facing the mirror as she touched up her face.“Alcantara, she is not from these parts, I think she just relocated here from another country.” Okay, this seemed interesting, she was a foreigner. I began pacing front and back in thought. “If she doesn’t agree to be my bride, what would happen?” I and my mother knew very well that no one was supposed to know about our organization and what we truly are, the society knew only what The Manuel family wanted them to know, anyone asking to know more shall end up Dead.My mother paused as
Chapter five My palms were sweaty as I stood in front of the mirror while the maids dressed me up in an elegant red dinner gown, I was sure I had never worn before. They saw the ruined curtains on the floor and just kept quiet about it, asking me nothing, except my choice of jewelry and other body accessories. When they were sure that I was all dolled up, the head maid comes in and tells me that I am already few minutes late for dinner and it would make the Bosses very annoyed. She urged me to get up and hasten for the dinning room as il Sovrano and her son must be waiting for me. I remember the words of the stranger I had met in that balcony; I would act when they least expect and escape from this place to see my brother. I couldn’t help but wonder who that man at the balcony was and if he was also kidnapped like me, I would really love to help him too. As I reached the Dining room, I was surprised by the very little table that only had Four chairs. For a mansion as elegant an
