20: Settling In

Finally!

I settled into the plush couch with a groan and I felt a sense of relief dawn me. “We're done! I smell like wood but it's worth it!’

Finally, I had a place to call my own – a place where I could escape the chaos of my life. Well, not all but a reasonable amount of it. I still had to work with chaos himself, as his personal assistant but as long as he didn't infiltrate my personal life, I was fine.

Lorraine appeared from the kitchen with a cup of orange juice in her grip and she smiled at me, her eyes shining with warmth. “Tell me about it. I have to take a shower before leaving, I can't have Lucan smelling all this sweet and whatnot.”

She sat next to me and I sniffed playfully, “Oh yeah, before he wants a divorce!”

That word just left a bitter taste in my mouth and it reminded me of Logan so much that I could punch the hair, or my head for making more pictures of him. “We're not even married, silly…”

I shrugged, “Well, you should…”

Lorraine grimaced, it was impossibl
