018: "HELL-evator!

“What the hell?” My eyes darted from wall to wall when the elevator jolted to a halt and I jerked forward, almost falling into him.

The elevator lurched to a stop, trapping me inside with the last person I wanted to be alone with - Alpha Alexander, the bane of my existence. The lights flickered once, twice, and then went out, plunging us into darkness.

"No, no, no!" I yelled, my voice echoing off the metal walls as I frantically felt my pockets for my phone. But it wasn't there. I had left it in his office, on his desk, in my haste to get into the tour he proposed.

Jeez! “I'm not with it, my home. My phone, I didn't bring it with me,” I complained, unable to see a thing. I could sense him but not where he stood or what he was doing.

It was so stuffy in her that it made my stomach jerk! “What do we do? What do we do?!” Why did it seem like I was the only one panicking?

Alpha Alexander's calm voice cut through my panic. "Alaina, calm down. We'll be out of here soon."
