Wind and raindrops whipped off my face. Ishaan was driving at a breakneck speed. I felt as if I was living a dream, last few hours were bliss. It wasn't like I never got male attention. I got enough of it! but very few of them caught my interest. I was just 22 all I wanted to do was have some fun.
I looked around but couldn't spot any other member of the gang. It was like we were driving alone on the highway. It was dark and we were whizzing past the thick vegetation.
I whispered into the vicinity of his ear, "Aren’t we moving too quickly?"
"You want me to slow down?" he asked in response.
I answered "I don't mean the rate of travel. There does not appear to be anyone else from our group here."
He chuckled "Don’t worry I am not kidnapping you. I am well aware of our destination.”
I suddenly visualized us lost in the woods indulging in all sorts of wild things that had never crossed my mind before. I drew in a slow breath because I hardly knew this person. And yet, I made the decision to go riding with him? In the back of my head, I heard a whisper warning me.
I said, "It is better if you slow down a bit, it's scary ".
He replied back "Hold me tight you won't feel scared".
I shot back "Mr. Shekhawat are you trying to flirt with me?"
He replied, "It's hard not to but I am trying my best".
I couldn't help but blush while simultaneously laughing to myself. Logically I should have been annoyed but my reactions were totally haywire. Getting attention from the hottest guy in the group as also a kind of ego boost for me. At last, after navigating our way via a complex network of highways. We arrived at a place that appeared to be a Garden restaurant. Ishaan drove the motorcycle to a parking spot while I got down and had a look around the area.
When he got there, I confronted him with the question, "Are we supposed to be here?"
He responded by saying, "Yeah, that's what everyone planned; you weren't aware of it, were you?"
I couldn't help but wag my head.
I found myself thinking, "I was so preoccupied with you that I couldn't pay attention to anything else."
"Where is everyone else?" I questioned.
While he checked his mobile phone, he responded. They must already be on their way, for here comes the first one. Gaurav appeared with Priya, who was glaring daggers in my direction as I approached. Gaurav merely smirked. Ishaan greeted him like a long-lost buddy by slapping him on the back. Soon after, more people arrived.
When Swati saw me, she ran up to me and said "thank God you are here. I had the impression that the two of you had run off together."
As my face grew bright red, Ishaan laughed and said to Swati, "Swati, I was merely escorting your friend; I was not eloping; my elopement plans are for someone else." He then smiled at her.
Swati could only respond by rolling her eyes at him.
I hushed Swati and said "Why are you acting like this?? I am fine."
Swati answered "Yes, I can see that, but when did you start acting in such a careless manner? How did you manage to get here before we did?"
I rolled her eyes "Chill!! I am fine. Ishaan is nice and we arrived here first because he drives like crazy.”
Swati replied "You've only known him for a short while, and all of a sudden he's nice? let me tell you he is HOT...Brash. Flirty ergo definitely off-limits.”
I let out an exasperated sigh as I muttered, "It is not what you think..."
After a long and stressful day, those who were anxious to have dinner interrupted us while we were in the middle of our conversation.
Soon, we were all tearing into the food. I was placed in a different section than Ishaan. He was not the possessive type that would follow me around all the time or cling to my every move. He gave me room to breathe. I have always believed that I am a reasonable and rational individual. Even though I enjoyed Ishaan's company, sense of humour, and carefree demeanour, I wasn't going to let my guard down just because I liked being around him. Oh ! What an idiot I was.
After that, he drove me home, and when Swati looked at me with disapproving eyes, I ignored her.
As I dismounted his bike, I expressed my gratitude to him. "Thank you.”
He exhibited a grin "Thank you very much. Because of you, I had an absolutely fantastic day."
I couldn't help but giggle as I said, "But other than sitting perfectly still on the bike, I didn't do anything interesting."
A wry smile crossed his face as he remarked, "That was THE intriguing part."
I couldn't help but redden when I noticed that he had a hint of stubble, which is something that any girl would adore being scratched with. I diverted my attention away from his flawless jaws.
“I should probably leave now since it's getting so late,” I said.
He said "I'll see you later. You are aware of who to contact if you find yourself in need of assistance, aren't you?"
I couldn't help but chuckle as I watched him walk away. It was hard for me to believe that the day had actually come and gone. Everything looked very unreal, almost like a dream. As I walked into my house, I couldn't help but smile, but when I looked up, I saw Swati staring angrily at me.
Swati spoke to me in an authoritative manner, saying, "We need to talk."
I sighed "Okay, but I am tired. What exactly do you have in mind for our conversation? There is nothing going on between Ishaan and me. We were simply enjoying ourselves..."
Swati replied, "What does he do?"
I said, "I didn't ask."
In response, Swati asked, "Then what the hell were you two talking about for such a long time?"
"Just general topics, my work, my hobbies, and so on," I said.
Swati answered "Great!! Aarya you are really naive. Ishaan is a person who may break your heart. Avoid associating with him since he is the kind of person who likes to flirt about."
I answered "Swati You are mistaken if you believe that I would eventually fall in love with him and subsequently suffer a broken heart as a result of our relationship. I am done with all that emotional nonsense for good. I am quite realistic in my outlook. After what seemed like an eternity, I finally found someone who could make me laugh and who could carry on a regular conversation with me without making me uncomfortable. He never made unnecessary physical contact with me. I don't understand why you are being so stubborn.”
Swati exclaimed, "Well, it wasn't just me—everyone saw the sparks fly!"
I rolled my eyes "what the heck!! But even if sparks did fly, there is no reason to be concerned about that."
Swati responded, "I simply don’t want you to get hurt."
"Don't be concerned, Swati. That will never happen."
For a week, I didn't see him. Was I hoping to bump into Ishaan again? Maybe. I was preoccupied with my work. Though he used to pop up in my mind quite frequently. I had already stalked him on social media, but I was hesitant to add him as a friend. Men, in my opinion, should make the first move. That is how old fashioned I am. Since that day, I had not heard from him. I had not heard from him since that day. I had not given him my number. He didn't ask. I wondered if ever thought of me. On Friday, I turned off my computer, ecstatic at the possibility of finally having a weekend. It was an unfamiliar number that buzzed my phone. From the opposite side, a deep voice spoke. "Hello, I hope your small feet have recovered from your strenuous hiking," says the narrator. "Excuse me, who is this?" "Your chauffeur," he said. "What?" "Well, I did give you a ride, so I'm technically your chauffeur." My heart began to race out of nowhere "Ishaan It's you, right? How did you get my phone numb
I smiled to myself as I walked back to the flat for no obvious reason. Swati gave me a curious look but said nothing. I sat down next to Swati after freshening up. She removed her headphones and stated. "I know you've been itching to say something, so go ahead and say anything." "Well, the movie was good, and dinner was very good," I chuckled. “Ishaan is an absolute dreamboat! He is a graduate of MIT. He is the owner of his own firm and a BMW!!" "What?!?" shouted Swati. "I knew he was a millionaire, but what firm is he with?" "I neglected to enquire since I was so enthralled by the BMW." Swati sighed and rolled her eyes. "Did he say anything to you about his family?" No, I said as I shook my head. "Anyways, did he you know to attempt anything?" Swati asked, frustrated. I began to blush. "What makes you think he'd do that?" "Otherwise, why would he take you to a dark theatre?" I recalled Ishaan moving my hair away from my face, but it was merely a friendly gesture. "Nothing!
We were seated at one of the posh establishments. "How much do you know about video games?" Ishaan inquired. "It has become an addiction for my 15-year-old brother. Until I learnt about the development aspect of things, I thought it was a waste of time. It's amazing how much thought and imagination goes into it." "Thank God! Finally, someone who recognises my worth! Gaming is now extremely popular. There are X box games, PlayStations, and fantasy games such as Warcraft, Chinese Ghost Story, and so on. By the way, I adore fantasy games." He took a breather. "The vast majority of these fantasy games are set in China, Korea, or the United States. They feature elaborate characters based on various mythology, comic books, and even movies. However, there aren't many gaming companies in India. Our research indicates that there is a huge demand for it. Particularly among the younger generation. We created a prototype with characters and a storyline that would appeal to the general public."
I managed to mix my demanding profession and fun, happy moments with Ishaan during the ensuing weeks. We got together practically every weekend and, if we could find the time in our busy schedules, perhaps even on weekdays. We visited malls, went to the movies, and occasionally travelled together as a pair as well as with the group to see Pune and its surroundings. Everyone in the group assumed we were a couple by this point. Which was somewhat true, but we hadn't advanced to more intimate level. We didn't do anything else but exchange a couple hugs and a cheek kiss. He was addictive and I was hooked to my new addiction. On a typical Saturday, we headed to the disco with the group. Ishaan's jaw dropped when he saw me in my little black dress, and I felt smug satisfaction. He merely said, "Looking good." Typically, the disco was crowded and boisterous. I was having a cocktail while sitting next to others. Although I don't like to party much, I do enjoy it occasionally. Ishaan wasn't
I walked into the living area to talk to Swati. I questioned, "What do you think about Ishaan now?" “My impression of him has changed,” she said, looking at me while leaving her coffee mug on the table. “He had the chance to do whatever he wanted last night but chose not to.” “That implies that he is a gentleman, right?” He smiled at me and said, "Yes, but a gentleman is the waiting wolf." “What does that mean, exactly?” I raised my eyebrow. "It just means he won't force himself on you but won't let go of the opportunity if you force yourself on him." She chuckled. "How is that even possible Swati," I said exasperated. She laughed "You can date him." "Aren’t, we are dating already?" "Yeah, whatever you have my approval" and winked at me. I felt happy. Ishaan came to see me that evening. He offered to just take me out for a drive as I wasn't in the mood to go partying or meet anyone from the group. He drove, although I'm not sure how long. The vehicle was then stopped in the
When you mention Goa you get an image of sun, sand, parties, and bikinis. This is exactly what we had been planning when Swati and I packed our stuff. I had never been to Goa before. Heading there with Ishaan was the icing on the cake."Do you think I should carry 1 more pair of swimming costume?" Swati asked."Swati you can't swim!" I said."Bikinis are not for swimming they are for flaunting your hot body " She grinned.I rolled my eyes."Gaurav will go crazy," She said smugly."So you have Gaurav, have you? You know doing anything?" I asked cautiously."Umm a few things. I am planning to go all the way in Goa." She winked at me."Woah! That's quite fast!" I said."Yeah we are not boring like you and Ishaan""Hey! we are not boring. We have a very good time. We play video games, discuss his game characters, and talk about life."My relationship with Ishaan had changed a lot after our kiss. We
I walked towards Ishaan and Priya who was now sticking to his arm like a leech."Planning to go somewhere hmmm?" I glared at him.He looked nervous and tried to pry off his arm "Uh no we aren't going anywhere. We are going to the party that's all."I folded my arms and said "Great! Enjoy!" I turned away, tossed my hair behind me, and walked away as fast as I could. I wasn't really angry I knew Priya and her antics I was just testing Ishaan."Hey, baby! Wait!" Ishaan called after me but I ignored him.I grabbed Swati's hand and muttered "keep walking."She looked at me alarmed "Wait what happened?""It's Priya," I said. She turned back and glared at Ishaan and Priya "that bitch again!" She muttered. We were now in the middle of the party. The music was heavenly and there was a crowd of bodies swaying in different directions.I had lost track of Ishaan. I started gyrating on the music with Swati. The al
30th Nov was the day Ishaan and I confessed to each other. We had been dating for about 6 months and that night in Goa was a landmark for our relationship. We returned quite late to the resort and most of the people went to bed immediately except me. I couldn't believe, whatever happened on the beach was a dream or reality.I am not the romantic sort. Fairytale's love stories never appealed to me but when Ishaan said those 3 magical words I wanted to believe them. I wanted it to be real. The next day we moved around various touristy places of Goa. We were on a 2-night trip and we were supposed to leave the next day evening. We still had time for a smashing party.Swati and Gaurav kept disappearing for short intervals to God know where. Now that we were officially 'In love' I had no idea what to do next.Technically it didn't make any difference to our relationship we were the same as before."Ishaan confessed," I said to Swati
