Chapter 18 Blood Hole

I gently raised one foot and saw no reaction from the eyeless head, so I took a step back.

I took this step boldly. I felt a little nervous, wondering if the eyeless head would suddenly pop up.

The eyeless head still didn't move, so I tried to take another step back. Later, the steps became bigger and faster, and the speed became faster and faster. Soon, the eyeless heads were no longer visible.

The moment I couldn't see the eyeless head, I felt temporarily relieved. I didn't dare to run back now, so I had to continue to retreat step by step, while also paying careful attention to the movements around me and the road behind me.

After retreating for a few minutes, I gradually felt something was wrong. The top of the mountain was not that big. I should have reached the edge long ago. Why was I still in the weeds? You won't encounter ghosts and hit the wall again, right?

The reason why I say "again" is because deep down in my heart I still believe that the experience in the giant snake cave was real, even though I actually have no idea what happened.

Just when I was about to run away, I missed my foot. What was obviously a pile of dead leaves suddenly sunk in. I leaned back with my missing foot and fell down.

The moment I fell, I was extremely angry. I thought at the time that this pit might be a trap used by hunters to hunt, but I ignored that traps are usually close to villages because hunters rarely go to deep mountains or mountain tops to hunt.

When I was a kid, I used to dig a small hole and cover it with big leaves. When small animals ran over it, they would fall into the hole and become my meal. So when I tilted my head and saw an enlarged version of the pit, the first thing I thought of was a trap.

Before I could think of the next step, my whole body fell into boundless darkness. I fell backwards, and even if I stretched out my hands, I couldn't catch anything to stop my fall, so I simply spread my hands wide, got into a comfortable position, closed my eyes, and waited for a piggy-back kiss with the earth.

Soon I felt the kiss of Mother Earth, and there was only one word for it, pain. The impact on the ground made me feel that my spine was about to shift. The pain was so painful that I could not speak and could only hiss.

I seemed to have fallen on the muddy ground, because my exposed skin was sticky when it touched the wet mud, and it stuck to my hands.

After lying on the ground for a while, I felt that the pain in my body was no longer so great, and then I sat up with support on the ground. It was pitch black all around, the moonlight couldn't shine through, and nothing could be seen.

I didn’t have a flashlight, so I had to take out my mobile phone for lighting. The phone only has 40% battery left and I dare not turn on the flashlight mode. I worry that I am truly isolated from the world and trapped in endless darkness forever.

There is no signal here. I don't know how to contact Du Xiaosheng and ask them to pay attention to the eyeless head on the top of the mountain.

This is one, and the other is to ask them to quickly find this pit and pull me up. This large pit is at least seven or eight meters long, and it does not have raised rocks like the rock wall. It is as smooth as a well wall. It is impossible to climb up with just your hands.

I raised my phone to let the light illuminate the dark place. This pit was wet everywhere, and I couldn't see anything in the dark. Now when I took a photo with my phone, I suddenly discovered that the entire pit was filled with dark red blood!

My stomach lurched, nausea overpowering fear and taking over. It turns out that I have been lying in the mud covered with blood, so wouldn’t I also be covered in blood?

Thinking of the big pit like a trap and the pit full of blood, I felt uneasy. The Eyeless Man didn't chase me before. Did he just want to lead me into this pit?

Why did it lead me to this pit?

Where is the Eyeless Head now?

Another bold idea came to me. If my previous experience of meeting a giant snake was false, is my current experience just my fantasy?

Even though there was blood everywhere, strangely I didn't smell any blood, and the blood was fresh and showed no sign of drying up. I suppressed my nausea and grabbed a handful of blood mud in my hand. The blood was like water, very thin, without the thick and greasy feeling unique to blood.

I breathed a sigh of relief. It might just be a liquid the same color as blood. I don’t know what purpose it dyed this place red. It can scare people at first glance.

I took another photo with my phone and realized that this place was actually more than just a pit. There was a passage to my right that could accommodate a person passing through. It was obviously dug manually. I couldn't see the end or the way to it. where.

Now I can't think about why there are artificially built passages here, and I can't even judge whether they might be things left over from ancient times.

I hesitated and decided to wait. If Du Xiaosheng could find me, I wouldn't have to venture into an unfamiliar place alone.

I can't see the full moon, there are only stars and drifting clouds in the sky. About an hour later, maybe half an hour later, I still didn't wait for Du Xiaosheng.

I thought it would be pointless to wait here for Du Xiaosheng to rescue me. After all, I couldn't tell whether they could find me. I am not a person who waits for death. Maybe this passage can lead to the ground. Regardless of whether it can, it is much better than waiting here.

After checking that there was no second passage, I immediately walked towards the passage, trying to get out of this scary place as quickly as possible.

The passage is just big enough to accommodate my size, but Zhou Linli probably wouldn't be able to get in. But even so, it was quite difficult for me to pass. I had to turn sideways to avoid touching the walls on both sides.

After entering the passage, the walls on both sides are no longer blood red, but the color of pure loess, which makes people look much more comfortable.

I held my phone in one hand and walked forward carefully step by step. I don’t know if the Eyeless Head will be here, and I don’t know where the front will be, so I have to be cautious.

The passage is not high, and there is a fine spider web on the top, which is covered with dust and dead insect shells, but no spiders are seen.

I walked for a while and looked back to find that the big bloody pit where I came in had become diagonally above me. The road turned out to be heading downwards.

After walking for about five or six minutes, I estimated that I had reached the neck of the mountain, and then I saw the exit. It was still dark inside the exit. I was too far away and the light from my phone couldn't shine inside. As I got closer, I realized that it was not actually an exit, but that the passage suddenly widened. There was still a loess passage ahead. From a distance, it looks like you have entered somewhere.

The road is much wider, like a corridor. I walked along this new road for a while, and suddenly there was no road ahead, replaced by a wall, a loess wall.

I was stunned. This is a sight I never expected. Since the end of the passage is a wall, does this passage still have any meaning?

When I took a closer look, I realized that it was not actually a dead end. There was a hole half a person's height on the right. I'm not sure I want to go in. It was strange that I fell into the pit. At that time, fear occupied my brain, making me only pay attention to escape, but ignored the cause and effect of the whole thing. It was the appearance of the Eyeless Head that made me lose my sense of proportion. However, I was so confused that I missed the point and seemed to fall into the blood pit along the path of the Eyeless Head.

What is the purpose of the eyeless head?

But if I go back to that pit, and I don’t know what will happen, will the Eyeless Head be in the pit waiting for me to come to my door? Or should I say that when I enter this hole, I am really delivered to the door?

After struggling internally for a while, I decided to go in and investigate. An ordinary person would definitely not go further, but I was born with an adventurous heart. When I was a child, I couldn't settle down in the mountains, and I always went to explore places I had never been before.

This hole is in the middle of the wall. If I want to go in, I have to step over the one-meter-high lower edge.

This height is not difficult for me. I first took a picture of the cave with my mobile phone. There was still a passage inside, but some small rectangular holes began to appear on the loess walls on both sides. Each one was about the size of a medium-sized LCD TV. It's big, very deep inside, and arranged very neatly, stretching into the distance. It's so densely packed that people with trypophobia will feel slightly uncomfortable.

It's a bit like a big cabinet. The small hole is where the drawer was originally, but it's just like the drawer was pulled out. I don’t know why this metaphor suddenly came to me, but it’s really appropriate here.

Now that I have decided to go in, I no longer hesitate. I set my phone to the mode where the screen never goes off, and gently threw it on the ground in the hole, making sure that the screen was facing up and could illuminate the hole entrance, and then I had my hands free to drill the hole.

I have a natural fear of the dark. Many people feel inexplicably scared when they are alone in the dark. I am just the opposite. The more dark I am, the more at ease I feel because I firmly believe that I cannot see other people in the dark. Can't see me either.

The hole looked very big, but when I got in, I realized that it was actually very narrow. I stretched one leg in first, half of my body at a time, and finally squeezed into the hole.

The mobile phone placed on the ground suddenly beeped three times. Such a loud sound in the dead silence really shocked me and made my heart beat wildly.

I picked up the phone and found that it was reminding me that the battery was low, with only 15% left, and it had entered power saving mode. It has only been ten minutes since I came down from the big pit, but I have wasted 20% of the battery. At this rate, I can only last ten minutes at most.

The brightness of the power-saving mode is much smaller, and it can only illuminate a distance of about one meter in front of me, and my progress has also become slower.

I originally wanted to ignore those depressions, but my curiosity prevailed. I wanted to find out what the many passages in the middle of the mountain were for, so that it would be good for Zhou Linli's father's tomb. Otherwise, if this place is a dangerous place, and if we go to build the tomb, won't it add evil to the evil spirit, and attack the seventh generation?
