Andrew paused. "Where did you hear that Father abandoned you? Could there be a misunderstanding?"

"Misunderstanding?" Wyneth let out a soft, mocking laugh. "If someone else had told me, maybe. But I heard it myself."

Andrew's eyes darkened a bit. "What did you hear? Can you tell me?"

Wyneth pursed her lips, choosing not to elaborate further. "It's been so many years, there's nothing more to say. Andrew, I have other things to do. I have to go."

Andrew decided not to press further and shifted the conversation. "Are you going to see Hayden?" he asked. When Wyneth remained silent, he gently smiled and continued, "Are you two back together? Or is that something you can't share?"

Wyneth shook her head. "No. Yes, we're back together."

Andrew sighed softly. "Alright then. As long as you're happy," he said. He wanted to say more, but he stopped himself upon seeing Wyneth's uncomfortable expression. "You can go. We'll talk tomorrow."

"I'll go then."
