"Hmm..." The little girl took a few bites of her cake, her pale cheeks puffing lightly with each bite. Hayden wanted to poke her cheek, but as he reached out, she suddenly looked up at him. "Aren't you eating?"

Hayden did not respond. He had bought the cake only to make her happy on her birthday. However, seeing her hopeful gaze, he could not ignore her expectation. "Why did you buy more? Are you taking it home for your family?"

"No, it's for you," Hayden said softly, looking at her. "But you can't eat it today. Save it for tomorrow."
