'Why didn't I tell you?' Likely because doing so would lead to the situation she found herself in now: a barrage of questions. Wyneth gazed out the window, her voice barely above a whisper. "I wanted to make my own decisions."

Her soft-spoken words sent a pang through Bruce's heart. He pursed his lips, ultimately managing to respond. "I know you're capable of making your own decisions, but the entertainment industry is a vast whirlpool. Do you even know what you'll be facing in the future? What if the manager you've chosen isn't reliable? What if the company isn't reliable?"

"He's pretty reliable," Wyneth replied.

She remembered the day she had a few drinks; some memories were fragmented, but some were clear. She remembered overhearing a conversation between Shaun and Hayden in the elevator. Given Hayden's status, Shaun could have chosen not to speak, but he did, and he even waited for her in his car outside the hotel the next day.

"Who exactly is it?" Bruce pressed.
