Chapter 10

Hayden was surprised at how little Wyneth weighed, even lighter than he had estimated just by looking at her. He carried her out of the hotel in long strides, and a Lincoln extended SUV was already waiting outside the entrance. When the driver saw Hayden approaching, he quickly got out of the car and opened the door for him.

Hayden wanted to place Wyneth in the car, but she wrapped her arms around his neck tightly. Her eyes were a bit hazy.

"Are you trying to kill me?" she slurred.

Hayden was confused. "What do you mean?"

"I knew it. You don't like me, so you want to kill me. Then you can marry someone else, right?" Wyneth accused Hayden with a melancholic expression. Her face was flushed. It was obvious that she was pretty drunk.

Hayden let out a resigned sigh. "Murder is a crime. Do you really think I would do something that is not beneficial for me?"

Wyneth seemed stunned for a moment before responding slowly. "Oh, right. Hayden Hamilton wouldn't do something like that. He's too rational."

Then Hayden helped her get into the car and she curled up in her seat. Despite it being mid-summer, thanks to the air conditioner, the cool air inside the SUV was refreshing. She sighed contentedly as she settled into her seat. "Ah, this feels so nice~"

Hayden also got into the car and closed the door.

The driver turned to Hayden and asked, "Sir, are we going to the hotel or...?"

Hayden owned several properties in Frecford, but the one he would stay was too far away from where they were. "The hotel," he said. As he looked at Wyneth beside him, he thought to himself, 'I need to make sure this little drunkard is taken care of first.'

With the air conditioning on, Wyneth stayed quiet for a while, huddled in the corner. Hayden thought she would keep to herself until they reached the hotel, but after about ten minutes, she suddenly blurted out loudly.

"Go die, Hayden Hamilton!"

SCREECH!

The driver in front was so startled that he almost hit the accelerator instead of the brake. The driver's face turned pale, and the assistant sitting in the passenger seat was also scared out of his wits.

Hayden gave the driver a warning look, and the driver wiped his sweat, not daring to be distracted again.

Hayden furrowed his brows and unbuttoned two buttons on his shirt. Then he looked at Wyneth, "Who did you say should go die just now?"

But Wyneth suddenly burst into tears.

Hayden was speechless. He thought, 'You're the one who told me to die, and now you're crying?" He was somewhat troubled and amused, "Why are you crying?"

Wyneth leaned against the car seat, her eyes red, and her voice choked up. "He treats me so badly. We've been married for so long, and he has never cared about me. He also flirts with another woman!"

Hayden did not deny the part about him never caring about her, but he did not understand the last part. 'When did I flirt with another woman?' So he asked, "Did you see it with your own eyes?"

Wyneth seemed to choke, then stuttered. "N-No, I didn't see anything." She added, "But he's such a jerk! He wanted a divorce but he didn't tell me. Instead, he let another woman stay in my room! Sob sob! I lived in that room for three years! I'm feeling so miserable." She cried and suddenly leaned over to pull Hayden's sleeve to wipe her tears and nose.

Hayden was at a loss for words again.

Wyneth wiped her nose forcefully, then looked up at him with red eyes. "I'm sad. I'm really sad."

Hayden looked at his sleeve, which was now smeared with snot, and his temples throbbed. He asked, "So, do you want me to comfort you?"

"Really?" Wyneth stared at him, "Are you willing to comfort me?"

Hayden thought, 'I can't believe she took my words literally.' He squinted his eyes and said, "How can I comfort you?"

Wyneth replied, "Say 'Go die, Hayden Hamilton.'"

Hayden did not know what to say.

Wyneth continued, "Don't you want to? You said you would comfort me."

Hayden gritted his teeth, feeling like Wyneth was playing games with him.

Wyneth said, "Forget it, I knew men were no good. You should go die too!"

With that, Wyneth ignored Hayden and pulled out her phone. She opened the camera app in selfie mode and started taking photos, making all sorts of cute, adorable, and flirtatious expressions, even throwing in a wink. She pouted and got up close to the camera to take a selfie, seemingly confident in her poses. However, the photos she took were terrible

Finally, Wyneth posted all those terrible photos on Instagram with the caption, [Fairy had a rough day descending to earth]. She even shared them on Facebook and all her other social media accounts, and no one could stop her.

'What a lightweight drinker.' Hayden believed that Wyneth was really drunk.

When they arrived at the hotel, Wyneth started singing. Once they got into the room, she hugged Hayden's neck and blew into his ear.

Bang!

The assistant and driver quickly closed the door and looked at each other in terror.

Wyneth clung to Hayden's neck, her eyes brimming with tears and her red lips slightly parted. "Let me dance for you, okay?" she asked

Hayden was caught off guard.

But before he could reply, Wyneth stepped back, while Hayden's gaze locked on hers. With a graceful motion, she lifted the hem of her dress and began to move to the beat. Her movements were not just random steps, but those of a true professional. In the dimly-lit hotel room, Wyneth danced with such seriousness and grace that it seemed as if she was on a world stage.

As he watched her, Hayden could not help but feel that she belonged in the spotlight. Her beauty was confident, soaring, and ingrained in her very being.

Suddenly, Hayden's expression shifted and he hurried over to Wyneth as she nearly hit the liquor cabinet. He pulled her into his arms, concern etched on his face. "Are you okay? Did you hit anything?".

But Wyneth just stared at him, tears welling in her beautiful eyes. "Kiss me, please," she whispered.

Hayden furrowed his brows.

Wyneth sniffled, tears streaming down her cheeks like tiny pearls. Her pitiful expression tugged at his heartstrings. "Just one kiss," she pleaded.

The dim light in the hotel room made Wyneth's tears shimmer like water under the sunlight, adding to her already stunning beauty. Her allure was so strong that no one could resist.

Hayden's throat rumbled and his eyes grew dark. He said, "Wyneth, do you know what you look like right now?"

Wyneth swayed her head and wrapped her arms around his neck. "I don't care," she replied, "All I want is your kiss."

She was being playful, while Hayden stood there like a statue with a stern expression. Then, after a moment, he released a low chuckle and lowered his head to meet her gaze, as though he had finally relented.

"I had no idea how mischievous you could be," he said, leaning down to press a kiss to her fair forehead. "It's time for you to go to sleep now."

Wyneth widened her eyes and pouted. "But you didn't kiss me where I wanted."

Hayden was taken aback for a moment, and then Wyneth pointed her finger at her soft red lips and clarified, "I meant here."
