"Any news?"
"Not yet, master."
Carl is pacing in his house. He has been anxiously waiting for something the whole day. Actually, he has been waiting for this for years, and he is finally very close.
"Master, Garrit is here."
Carl feels his anticipation rise. Finally, it is happening.
"Send him in, quickly."
He settles himself on the sofa. Garrit is his right-hand man, and not once has he disappointed him.
Carl sees him enter.
"Have a seat."
Garrit settles himself on the sofa in front of him.
"So?" prompts Carl.
"I was able to trace down a descendant of the Oswyn bloodline back in Greece..."
Carl shifts a little forward on the sofa.
"But, it was a male descendant."
Carl feels his anticipation die down, "And?"
"He had the mark on his back alright, so we questioned him at length about his other relatives and extended family. He did not have much information in this regard. Said he was an orphan, was adopted, and brought up by a family in the UK, who then shifted to Greece. He does have a daughter, but she isn't born with the mark"
Carl looks intently at him, and knows that there is more, "But that's not it."
"No, it isn't. He remembers having a younger sister. She wasn't adopted by his family, and he never saw her again. With any luck, she might still be here in the UK."
Carl ponders over the information for a few seconds, and says, "Yes, she might be under a different name if she was adopted as well."
"Right."
"This is going to be a task."
"But at least we know where to start."

It is late in the evening, Lilia enters the house and sees Damion, Ty, and Brent sitting in the living room.
"Hi, guys!"
"Hi"
Brents looks over at her, but she purposely avoids his gaze.
"How was your day?" asks Damion.
"It was good. Yours?"
"The usual."
"I'll just go and change for dinner," she says as she walks up the stairs.
She comes down after twenty minutes and sees that now it's just Damion and Tyrus sitting in the living room.
"Where's Brent?"
"He left after you went upstairs. Said he wasn't up to eating dinner tonight and had something else to do," says Tyrus, looking at her closely.
"Oh, okay."
Tyrus pauses and asks, "Has something happened between you two?"
"What do you mean?" Lilia replies instantly. Does he know about what happened between them that night on the balcony?
"I don't know. It feels like he has been acting a bit differently since the day you were attacked."
Oh, it's about this, Lilia thinks, relieved, and says, "Is that so!?"
"Yeah, kind of. Does he blame himself for that in some way? or feels guilty about it?" Damion asks as he turns to look at her, "I don't see any reason why he should. But it's Brent, the 'noble one'," he makes quotation marks with his fingers as he says this, "so you never know." He shrugs his shoulders.
"I have no idea," says Lilia
They proceed to eat dinner and, after some time, return to their rooms for the night.
Two hours later, Lilia is lying in her bed, trying to sleep, but something is bugging her. She had hardly seen Brent in the last two days. He leaves early and comes in late. If she had any doubts before about whether or not he was avoiding her, they had all dissipated. She knows now that he is avoiding her. She had decided not to go after him if this would be his attitude, but it is difficult. She wants to drag him in and barge him with comments and questions about his behavior. She shifts around in her bed, trying to find a more comfortable position to fall asleep, but it's impossible.
She gets out of bed and decides to go down to the kitchen to find something to munch. She isn't hungry, but she feels it would take her mind off things. She puts on her shrug and walks out of the room.
She had just taken two steps when she saw Brent at the top of the stairs. He turns to look at her, "Um, Hi, I was just-"
"Finding another way to avoid me?" she glares at him, "I know," and turns around to walk back into her room.
She had just sat on her bed when the door to her room opened. It is Brent. They look at each other for a few seconds, and then Brent says, "I am not the only one who is avoiding the other."
"I am just giving you back your energy." Lilia says angrily, "It was you who decided to turn around and leave. Without any reason, might I add?"
"It wasn't without a reason."
"Then, tell me what it is so that we can sort this out."
"You don't understand."
"Make me."
She gets up from the bed. He shuts the door and runs his hand through his hair in agitation. Lilia can't help but notice how attractive he looks in the black shirt.
"I am a vampire, Lilia," he says with a tone of desperation.
"And I don't care."
"Well, then you should," he says flatly.
There is silence for a minute, and then, he says, "Us, you and me, we shouldn't take this forward. It is not sensible." he says desperately, "You are a human, and you should mingle with your kind. You have your entire life ahead of you, a bright future. Me, I have been doomed for eternity. You deserve better."
She knows that he wants her to agree with him, but she just can't. She knows what she wants, and it is him. She wants all of him, and the longer she is in his presence, the stronger her need gets.
"I don't care that you are a vampire, Brent," she says in a leveled voice, "I know how much I desire being with you, and I am ready to accept all parts of you as they are, but I understand if you don't feel the same. I will respect your choice. You can leave."
"You think I am avoiding you because I don't desire to be with you?" Brent asks slowly.
"What else could it be? You don't avoid someone you want. You try to work things out."
Brent looks at her, and she notices a kind of fire flicker in his eyes.
He says, "I am not avoiding you because I don't feel anything. I am avoiding you because you burn like a desperate desire in my heart. When I am around you, I can't notice anything else. When I see you..." he continues in a whisper that makes goosebumps rise all over her body, "Seeing you standing here, I want nothing more than to kiss every square inch of your body until you beg for me to stop."
They stare at each other for a few seconds, and then press their lips together, intertwining their hands around one another. Lilia pours out all the desperation of the last two days and kisses him fiercely.
He takes off her shrug, picks her up, and takes her to the bed. He lays her down and kisses her all over her face, moving down to her neck and the collarbones. He pulls down the straps of her night dress and massages her hardened nipples while kissing behind her ear. He slowly moves down to her breasts, sucking at them, and biting softly as his hands explore her inner thighs.
Lilia moans with pleasure. Her mind is blank, and all she can feel is the sensation of his lips on her breasts and his hands on her legs. He moves his hand upward and removes her underwear. He takes his thumb to massage her clit. She feels her breath quicken slowly as her heart starts to beat faster. He moves his lips down to her stomach and then to her inner thighs, kissing, sucking, and biting.
She tries to understand all these sensations, but it is impossible, it is chaotic bliss. He uses his tongue to lick her clit, and proceeds to suck on it softly as he slides two of his fingers inside her, moving them around and back and forth. Her heartbeat is rising, and her breathing is becoming more and more uneven and ragged. He reaches up to her ear and whispers, "You like this?"
"Yes, yes, I do," she moans, "oh God, Brent!"
She grabs his shirt and quickly unbuttons it as he continues to move his fingers inside her, hitting the right spot. She feels his chiseled chest with her hands, then goes down to unbutton his pants.
"I want you, inside me, now" she whispers.
Brent takes off his pants and underwear. She feels him with her hands. He is very hard. He removes his fingers and gets on top of her.
"Protection?" she says.
"I can't pass on STDs or get you pregnant," he smiles, "perks of hooking up with a vampire."
With that, he slides inside her. They kiss and moan with pleasure.
"Do you want to lead?" he says.
She nods.
He gets off of her as she climbs on top of him taking him inside. She kisses him, and then sits up straight, moving up and down and back and forth as he holds and massages her breasts.
They moan with pleasure, calling out each other's names.
"I am cumming" she says as she moves a little faster in the pleasure of the sensations.
"Me too"
They stare into each other's eyes. Lilia feels herself reaching the cliff, and then her mind explodes like fireworks. She comes a few seconds before him, but they both collapse as he comes inside her, moaning and breathing heavily. She could feel her vagina pulsating as she breathed heavily, lying on top of him, their hearts beating in sync.
They are lying beside each other, intertwined and sweaty. He kisses her softly.
"That was mind blowing," she says.
"I've been known to have that effect" he winks as she chuckles and kisses him.
She turns around as he hugs her from behind.
"What is this?" he asks.
"What?" she turns to see him looking at something on her back.
"This crown-like mark on the middle of your back."
"Oh, this, it's a birthmark."
"That seems unique," he says, pulling her closer to him, "Are you sure you are not a part of some royal bloodline." he smiles into her hair.
"Well, if that's the case, you might get to be a king, someday"
They laugh and drift into sleep, snuggled into each other.
Lilia wakes up the next day but takes a few seconds before opening her eyes. She has a hard time believing that yesterday night was not a dream. But then she feels Brent's shallow and comfortable breathing right next to her ear. She turns around, opening her eyes and feeling like small explosions are happening in her chest. The shuffling wakes up Brent. He looks at her and smiles. She smiles back. "Had a good sleep?" he asks in a soft voice."The best!". She kisses him lightly on the lips. They spend a few more minutes snuggled together and then Brent asks in a serious tone, "So, what have you thought?""About what?""About us...""I told you, Brent, I like you. A Lot. I want to be with you and I don't care if you are a vampire or a zombie!" He gives a shaky laugh and then begins, "But..""No buts or ifs or maybes," Lilia replies firmly, cutting him off."Okay Okay... so how do you plan to tell the others?""We'll tell them in a few days. Let me first get used to the feeling that I
"Hang on, I forgot my phone," Brent says and walks up the stairs to his room. When he enters, he notices a paper airplane lying in the middle of the room. It seemed like someone had thrown it in from the window which was slightly open. They must have had a very good aim to get it through the small space. He picks it up and notices some handwritten letters. He unfolds it and sees a small message in flowery writing.I have the answers to what you are looking for. Meet me at the small shack off the road that leads out of Byfall county towards Mormon street. Today, at 6 pm.-E.A.E.A? He didn't think he knew anyone by those initials. Who is this person and how do they know about what I am looking for? He looks at the letter again and feels that it would be stereotyping, but it felt to him that the writer was a woman. He feels an excitement bubble in his stomach. Was this finally a lead? After all these days? ? He understood the secrecy of both the message and the meeting place. It was, af
Esther had planned this moment for quite some time. She had deliberated on how to approach the topic for weeks. It was very important for her to get what she wants and she was glad that the information she had just given them had caught them off-guard. She could see the shock etched on the faces of all three men. She did not break the silence. She wanted the gravity of the information she had to sink in. It had, after all, cost her so much to know the truth."You know what the second ingredient is?" Brent says slowlyIt was less of a question and more of a contemplation, but she answers anyway, "Yes"."Do you know where it is?" asks Damion."Not quite. But I know how one can find it.""And you are willing to give us this information merely in exchange for being a part of the plan.""Yes.""But why?"Because defeating Carl is very personal and important to me and I know that I would not be able to manage all of it alone. So, I want to be a part of a group of people who have the same go
Lilia is waiting in the hall flicking through channels on the television. She is full of excitement and anticipation. They had said that she would know all about their mission tonight. However, it did make her a bit nervous. What if she did not want to know after all? It had taken her some time to adjust to the fact that she had been living with creatures that she believed only to be mythical. But their behavior towards her had made her accept them almost instantly. It had never occurred to her, even for a moment, that she should leave just because they are different from her. She absent-mindedly plays with her hair that reaches down to almost her waist and thinks about Brent. It has been hard not to think about him lately. She had told Tasha everything about him except for the fact that he is a vampire. They had trusted her with their secret and she would not betray them. After a few minutes, she hears the door open and quickly gets off the couch to see who it is. The three men ente
Damion looks over at Lilia and seeks shock etched all over her face. She seemed temporarily lost for words. Her eyes are fixed on his face. After a minute of solid silence and gaping, she says slowly, "You are his son?""Unfortunately, yes.""But you don't use the surname.""I was named Damion Carlson." he said in a voice full of disgust, "Apparently, my father was proud of me when I was born. I am sure he feels very different now." He gave a sarcastic laugh, "I changed my name to Damion Gray when I left the clan." "So, your father, I mean Carl, doesn't know where you are?""I left him when I was very young, only 14. Didn't like his ways, you see. I heard he was very heartbroken when I left. I don't know if that is true. I don't think he has a heart, to be honest. He didn't come looking for me anyway. I think the heartbreak was more to do with his reputation. He had become obsessed with the incarnation ritual by the time I was 12. Wanted me to help him in his quest. Said, it was the
Esther rings the bell of the mansion and waits to be invited in. She is a little nervous but is sure about what she has to do. Some truth, some convincing lies and she will be on her way to getting what she has been toiling for, for over a century. The door opens and she sees Brent standing there.“Come in,” he saysShe steps into the house and asks, “No human lives here?”“One does, but the house is in my name.” He points to his right and she starts walking as Brent closes the door behind her. She spots four people sitting in the hall.“You already know us and this is Lilia,” says Brent, “Lilia, this is Esther Arnette. She is here to make a deal with us and says she knows what the second ingredient is.”“Oh! Hello” says Lilia.Esther looks over at her and notices that she is the human Brent had mentioned. She has a curious expression on her face. Esther nods in return for her greeting.“Have a seat,” Damion says, pointing to a chair beside himself. Esther walks over to it and settles
“Oswyn bloodline?” Tyrus repeats. He had never heard of it.“Yes. It is a very old bloodline.” says Esther, “It was the blood of an ancestral Oswyn that the witch who led to the creation of vampires and werewolves in the first place used. So, any ritual that is related to that ritual performed over a Millennium ago has to include the blood from an Oswyn.”“Do you know where the descendants of this bloodline live?” asked Brent“It is not that easy. There are two problems. First is the fact that the descendants of Oswyns are extinct in the male line which means that they are still among us but under a different name”“Well that certainly has complicated things.” says Damion, “What is the second issue?”“The second issue is that not every descendant from that line is eligible for it.”“What is that supposed to mean?” Tyrus asks.“I don’t know how it works. But do you know the right-hand man of Carl?”“Garrit” says Damion“Yes, him. Apparently, he was able to trace one of the descendants
The next morning Damion gets up a little early. His mind is still racing with all the information that Esther had revealed yesterday. He had come with some plans to trace down the descendants of Oswyn. He thought that if they had lived in Britain, as that man in Greece said then the orphanages would have records of the children. It is going to be a long laborious task to trace down elder brother-younger sister duos from all over Britain, but if Esther’s information is right that Carl is probably working along the same lines. It is just a matter of who catches up first. He gets off the bed and heads to the bathroom to freshen up.He had felt odd calling Carl his father yesterday, after such a long time. He had rarely thought of him in terms of his father after he had left. He wondered sometimes how things would have been had he not left so young. Maybe, he could have worked from the inside to get him down. Though, he also thought that he would not have been able to take up his bullshit
Six years later.“Tasha! Where are you?”Lilia is standing at the bottom of the stairs in a sea-glass green colored off-shoulder gown and looking up. She sees Esther stepping down the stairs in a halter neck gown of the same shade as hers.“Have you seen Tasha?” Lilia asks her.“She was with me like five minutes ago, and then she went downstairs.”Lilia groans.“I can’t see her anywhere.”“She’ll turn up,” Esther says, now climbing downstairs, “she is very excited for the day after all.”Lilia smiles, “Yeah, she is. I’ll check with the men. Maybe she is there. Does Sabina need anything else?”“Not for now. I just gave her her perfume of demand. She wants everything to be perfect! Honestly, I don’t blame her.”“Mumma.”A voice comes from their right, and they see a small blonde-haired girl in a light green frilled frock running towards them from the hall.“There you are!” Lilia exclaims. “I was looking for you everywhere. Where did you go?”“I was with Uncle Ty. He said he wanted to se
He is hoping that she will feel him and realize what he is trying to say. Should he close his eyes? But he doesn’t want to. He wants to keep looking at Tasha if things go the way he thinks they will.Just as he is looking at Tash, he sees a trickle of blood flow out from her nose. She is having a nosebleed.“Tasha!” He says.Sabina hears his voice and looks up to see what the matter is.“Are they doing something to her?” She asks in a horrified voice.“I don’t know,” Evarius says, panicking. “Hey, Tasha!”He shakes her, but it’s no use. It looks like she and the eight Junta witches that are still standing are having a battle inside this trance that they are in and it’s hurting Tasha. Evarius has no idea what to do. He places his hand again on Tasha’s and closes his eyes this time.*Tasha feels rather than sees Evarius enter this realm. She uses her other hand to force him out. She can do this without him. She knows what he is trying to do. She won’t allow it.“No,” she says in her mi
Relief courses through Tasha as she sees Lilia standing near the fire looking absolutely fine. She rushes over to her followed by Evarius.“Let’s leave,” Tasha says to Lilia.“I have been trying, but I can’t,” Lilia says pointing to the Head’s grip on her wrist. “It’s like she has an iron grip.“It's magic,” Tasha says and places her hand over the Junta lady’s.At first, Tasha can’t feel anything, but then it’s like she is being sucked into a different world and now she knows why the Junta can’t hear anything from outside because she can’t hear anything anymore either. But now she can see. She can see hundreds and hundreds of people lying on the floor slowly turning gray and Tasha realizes with a jolt that these are all the vampires that are dying. The younger ones first.Tasha focuses harder and now it’s like she is flipping through a book and in the next few pages, she finds a lot of other people of different ages clutching their chests. Dying. Among those people, she also sees hers
Tasha and her group move forward. They do not find any more werewolves in their way. Maybe they are fighting on the other side. When the very edge and can clearly see the cloaked witches standing in a circle Tasha says, “Okay, I need to break into the innermost circle. That’s where the real stuff is happening. The rest of the circles are for elevating the effectiveness of the spell.”“I think we should spread out and take on as many witches as we can without causing too much chaos,” says Evarius. “Otherwise, they will try to push us back like last time and it will complicate things. Although this time we have witches which is much better.”“Okay then,” let’s spread out. “We won’t be able to see each other. So, once you and your neighbors are in position, wait for ten seconds and then attack. This will ensure that we do it at the same time.”Everyone agrees with this idea and spreads it out. Evarius stands right beside Tasha. They wait for ten seconds and then Tasha places her hand on
Evarius is clenching his chest and breathing heavily. It feels like someone is stabbing him in the heart continuously.“What is happening? I don’t understand,” he can hear Tasha say, as if from a long distanceHe cannot speak for the pain that he is feeling and just as he feels that he is going to pass out from the pain, it starts reducing in intensity, and soon it is gone. He massages his chest, but it feels absolutely normal now. What the fuck was that?“Evarius,” Tasha says, on the verge of tears.“I am fine Tasha.”“What? No -““Yes. The pain is gone.”“But why did it come in the first place, that’s the question,” says one of the witches.“Exactly. What did it feel like?”Evarius explains it to them. The more he talks the more confused Tasha looks.“Nothing like this happened the last time,” she says, “Did it?”“No.”“Then why now? They are targeting my bloodline, but I don’t feel anything. This is just weird.”“But the Serafina line is related to vampires,” a witch suggests.“Yea
The sun has gone down the horizon and because it's a new moon, the night is very dark. Lilia has been brought out of the house and she sees that it’s not a small house, it’s actually a huge mansion. The junta has cleared the space for the ritual and other than cloaked figures, Lilia can spot some other people. This makes her wonder. Who are these people? All the time she has been with the Junta, she has only seen them in cloaks. She walks to stand in front of the fire beside the Head who gives her a little smile. The smile makes her otherwise rigid face softer and calms Lilia’s nerves.“How long will it take?” Lilia asks.“A few hours. It’s a long process. We will be done before dawn, I hope you have rested during the day.”Lilia nods.“Then, you’ll be fine,” the Head says.Lilia glances around the scene. There are a lot of people here. Much more than there were before. There is a lot more commotion and people are talking continuously and moving in and out of the house. It almost seem
The junta is gathered on the first floor of the mansion. This entire floor Carl has given to them for the time being. It is in the backroom on this floor that they have kept the binder. They don’t want Carl to get close to her before they have no choice.“I have given her the food,” Chiara tells Amyra.“How is she?”“She is fine. I told her she will be going home today and she looked happy with the prospect.”“Good. Now, we just need to make sure to get her out of this place before Carl lays his hands on her. Make sure that no matter what happens he can’t get to her. Once she is back home, we will place the spell that keeps Carl and his people away from her back and she will be safe.”“I will make sure that everything goes as planned,” Chiara says.“It should because if it does we will be able to correct the grave historical blunder that our ancestors had committed. We will finally be able to wash our hands off it.”Amyra turns around to look out of the window thinking about all the g
Carl, Luther, and Garrit and sitting with the Junta head. Her name is Amyra. They are discussing the arrangements that Carl has provided the Junta with and something else that he has found out recently.“Are your plans for the new moon set then?” Carl asks her.“We are almost done. We’ll be ready by then, don’t worry. We’ll be off your hands after that. You’ll get what you want.”“Which is the binder?”“The binder, yes.”“Good. But there is something else that I think you should take notice of.”“And what is that?”“The binder’s friends are in town again. Does this mean that they know she and you are here?”“How can I tell you that? This type of thing should be your concern. Anyway, I have no idea how they can possibly know that we are associating with you. We never associate with werewolves and vampires, or at least that’s what everyone believes.”“Right,” says Luther, “but let’s say they do know and they try to sabotage our plans. Will you help us fight them?”“Of course, we will. H
Everyone looks from Evarius to Sabina to Tasha in shock, but Tasha smiles because she knows that Sabina’s fainting means that it has worked.“What happened to her?” Tyrus asks, kneeling down beside her, looking scared.“She’ll be okay Ty and so will Evarius,” says Tasha. “Can you guys please carry them inside? Their bodies are going through a change and they might be down for some time.”Tyrus carries Sabina in and Damion and Brent carry Evarius. They place them on the two sofas and Tasha asks, “Did you guys feel something when Evarius fainted.”“Yes,” five of them say.“No,” says Damion.“Of course, you didn’t feel anything, D. You are a werewolf. The rest of you, what was it?”“A swooping gust of wind inside,” Esther says.“Yeah, like a blood rush,” says Nadia.“Does that mean it worked?” Brent asks.“In my humble opinion. It does.”“Is there any way to check?” Tyrus asks“Not really,” says Tasha, “at least nothing that I know of. But I am sure we will find something out once Sabina
