Brent had seen Esther jump between him and the werewolf, but he could not do anything before it bit her. He shoves the werewolf off her and then shoots him. It crumbles down to the floor. Brent turns around to see Esther lying on the ground, unconscious. He looks around for more werewolves, but there are none. The ground is littered with unconscious or maybe dead werewolves. He lifts Esther off the ground and runs out of there. They had been kept in a storehouse type of place, and he could not see any more werewolves and places of living around. But they may be able to smell him and Esther and may come at them at any time even if he can't see anyone right now. It is their area, so he cannot stop. He keeps running. He doesn’t recognize where he is, and his only chance is to go with his gut. After running a few minutes, he recognizes where he might be. His mansion is quite far from this place, but his lake house is nearby. So, he starts running down the hill with Esther still unconsciou
Brent carries Esther inside the house and up the stairs to his room. He places her on the bed and goes down to look for some things. He comes back with a pair of tweezers and a bottle of yellowish liquid. He sits beside Esther and takes off her shirt. The bite on the side of her stomach is quite deep. He pours the wolfsbane on it. Then, he uses the tweezers to pull out the bullet from her shoulder. He gets a pair of tissues and wipes her wounds clean. There is some blood on her face as well, he wipes it clean too, remembering the fighting scenes and how strong and brave she had been. He gets one of his shirts and puts it on her. After the tending and dressing, he places the blanket over her and leaves to wash. All his injuries had already healed, it was just dried blood and mud now. He takes his time while showering. It had been an experience to remember. He had not thought that they would manage to get out of it. They probably wouldn’t have, if not for Esther. His mind goes to images
“Of course!” Brent exclaims, facepalming. Lilia notices that he is smiling too, and so is Tyrus. “The main thing was to save Brent and Esther,” says Damion, “as for the ritual, Carl can’t do anything for now.” “What does that mean?” asks Lilia “Yeah, the rest of us are missing the point completely,” says Esther. “Remember,” says Damion, “I told you that Carl can’t reach the third ingredient i.e. the book because I have it.” Everyone nods. “Well, he tried,” continues Damion, “I knew he would try to get his hands on the third ingredient now that he thinks he can get Lilia. So, I went to that place to see if he would. He was going
Tasha and Lilia lie in silence for a few minutes, and then Tasha asks Lilia, “Do you like him?” “Who?” “Damion.” “I - I know you don’t like him...” “Who said I don’t like him?” Tasha asks in an incredulous voice. “Well, you guys are always bickering so I assumed- “ “Oh, he just annoys me on purpose, and I give that back to him. But it doesn’t mean I don’t like him. I know he is a fine guy. But I am not asking you if you like him that way.” “I know. The thing is, I don’t know, or maybe I do, but I am not sure.” “Why?” “I h
The group had decided to inform the Junta. They felt that since the Junta wants to protect Lilia from Carl too, it would be appropriate to inform them that they are planning to have Tasha cast a spell on her. It would assuage their fear too. Damion’s grandmother had said that she knew a way to call the Junta, so Brent and Tyrus had gone to her. Meanwhile, Esther had gone for a walk. Adeline didn’t feel like going anywhere, so she decided to stay home and watch TV. As she had been asleep for almost a century, she had tons to catch up on.It had just been fifteen minutes since Esther had left when the bell rang. It took Adeline by surprise. No one other than the people who lived in the house came here. Not without informing, at least, so who could it be? With the events of the past few days, Adeline doesn’t know if it would be prudent to open the gate. As long as she is inside
“So, we can’t get to him either?” Carl says to Luther.“Looks like it.”They are sitting in the lobby of Carl’s house and Luther has just traced Damion’s location on a map that is lying on the table.“It’s a clever move,” says Luther, “stay with the girl. If you can’t get to the girl, you can’t get to him.”“Or he is simply working with her.”“Garrit!” Carl calls out.Garrit comes into the lobby.“Didn’t you say the girl is living with three boys?” asks Carl.
Adeline and Nadia kiss each other and then Nadia says, “You have no idea how much I’ve missed you.”“And you’ve no idea,” says Adeline, “how blown I am by the fact that you waited. All these years, oh Nadia...”Adeline cups Nadia’s face in her hands, looking into her light brown eyes. A tear rolls down Nadia’s face and Adeline wipes it with her thumb. Then, they start kissing again. Both of them lie back on the table, still kissing as Adeline unbuttons Nadia’s shirt and Nadia slides a hand under her dress to pull down her panties. They kiss, bite and lick each other, covering every inch. Throwing in the desperation they had felt for each other over the years.Nadia slides on top
Adeline is pacing in her room. It’s late at night but she cannot sleep. The thoughts of what happened today are badgering her. She had told Nadia what she needed to know. She had decided for herself. For her happiness. But the fact that she has gone against the people who had accepted her into their lives is eating her up. Should she have stayed quiet? She sighs and decides to go and have a drink, otherwise, she won’t be able to sleep. She had not expected anyone to be awake at this time of the night but she sees Tyrus sitting in the hall.“Hey,” she says as he turns around to see her coming.“Hi, can’t sleep?”“No. You?”“Same.”
