Xander's POV

All through the car ride back to the house, I couldn't take my eyes off her. I hated seeing her, so scared and traumatized. And all this was my fault. She didn't ask for any of this, but I stupidly brought her into this messed up life of mine.

I did this to her, I subjected her to a life of violence, not even considering how it would affect her.

'' I wish there was a way to fix this,'' I said to myself.

But I couldn't think of one that would keep her safe, because letting her go now was out of the question.

It doesn't matter if she was no longer my marked woman, my enemies now know that she is important to me, so they will always use her to get to me. And I can't let that happen.
