Chapter 96: Fighting For The Alpha's Heart

I don't blink. I just stare blankly as she says what she says. Alexis expected more from me. I should be angry. I should hate Zeke for putting my life at risk, but she's wrong. He saved me, because if he didn't do that, Jai-Blynn would have killed me alongside Isolde.

She squints, trying to understand my lack of reaction to something as grave as that. "You don't believe me?"

"I believe you," I say, brushing past her and changing out of the dress, regardless of her watching eyes.

"Then do something! I just told you Zeke didn't care. He would have killed you—"

My bare back is to her as I look over my shoulder. I growl. "Shut up!"

Alexis groans as the force from my voice throws her into the dressing room wall, leaving a dent. It surprises her as much as it surprises me. There are particles of cement and dust floating in the tiny space. When she stands, there's blood dripping down the side of her head.
