Lisa POV:
When I got downstairs to the kitchen.I looked around hoping to see Evelyn but had no idea where to look.Shaking my head, I walked toward the first maid, I saw before tapping her shoulders."Hey, uhm Ace asked for breakfast," I said softly."I'll have that fix up, did he ask for anything in particular?" She asked while I shook my head before sitting on the chair."Where is Evelyn please?" I asked while looking."Upstairs in her room." She mumbled smiling at me.I gave her a smile in return before walking toward the stairs."Oh, and Nurse Lisa, thank you, for helping Ace." She whispered.I looked back at her, shocked at her words."Just doing my job," I said quietly walking away. The smile never left my lips. When I arrived, I saw a door open slightly.Walking closer to it, I tried listening for a sound. Then I heard someone whispering."I'm telling you, I give him that same injection, I have no idea how his awake." The person whispered. My eyes wide out when I recognize the Voice.Evelyn kept whispering to the person on the phone."You told me it would kill him, not bring him back to live, how the fuck are we going to kill him then." She said harshly.A grasp left my lips, before clapping my hand over my lips.Quickly I walked towards my room when I noticed Evelyn stopped talking. My heart was racing. What had I just heard? Evelyn had been talking about killing Ace.I opened the door to my room and closed it behind me, my mind racing with questions. Why would Evelyn be involved in something like that? And who was she talking to on the phone?I was filled with dread as I considered the possibilities. I didn't want to believe that Evelyn was capable of such things, but the evidence was right in front of me.Which made no sense, quickly I grabbed my phone and called my friend Emily. After a few rings, she finally picks up "Wassup girl." I heard Emily's happy voice on the phone."Uhm Emily, I need help with something," I whispered."So uhm, I'm working for a businessman now and I found an injection bottle that they used to give him, could you help me do some research on it pls," I said quietly."Sure, just send a picture of it." She said softly.Nodding my head, I walked toward my bag where I kept the injection.I thank God I took another bottle with me.Quickly I took a picture of it.Then sent it to her.Quickly ending the call.I tried acting normal so Evelyn wouldn't notice my mood.Opened my door, and looked around the hall before taking a step out. When the ghost was clear, I made my way downstairs. The maid looked up with a smile when she saw me."Nurse Lisa, I was looking for you, here is your meal." She said handing me the food.I gave her a smile and a 'thank you' before making my way upstairs.Back to Ace's room. When I arrived at his door.I knocked on it, waiting for his reply.'come in' he said loudly.Smiling my heart beat slowly, I thought he fell or something.I pushed the door open.Smiling at him, I walked into the room."What took you so long?" He asked his green eyes on me."Uhm I went to the bathroom." I lied smiling at him.He looked at me for a second before nodding his head. For a moment I thought he knew I lied."Here's your food," I said quietly dropping the tray of food."Where's your food?" He asked licking his lips. His eyes were on me."Uhm I forgot it downstairs," I whispered looking away from his eyes."Then sit, you are eating with me." He ordered making my open drop."I can't do that, Mr. Ace," I said shaking my head."But I told you to, now sit Lisa." He ordered.Lord the way he calls my name.Nodding my head, I sat by his bedside. He pushed the food closer to me before looking up."Now let's eat." He said opening the plates."Ain't you going to pray?." I found myself asking."Pray?" He asked his voice deep with an accent I couldn't understand."Yes, pray, close your eyes and I'll pray," I said with a smile.Ace looked at me for a moment before letting out a breath and then closing his eyes.I found myself smiling at his action. With that, I said a prayer before opening my eyes. When I was done, I opened my eyes only to see him already staring at me.Shaking my head, I picked up one bread and then took a bite of it."Come on eat," I mumbled looking at him.Ace nodded his head before grabbing his bread, then ate it slowly. We went back and forth eating, No words were shared. When we were done, I grabbed the tray before standing up."I'll go bring your medications," I said with a smile as I made my way outside.Ace said nothing but just watched me walk away. When I closed the door.I walked toward the stairs.Dropping the tray, I looked at the maid."Thank you for this," I said softly. She nods her head."Is Evelyn is here?" I asked softly."No, she left, packed her bags, and said she was going back to her home." The maid mumbled.I looked at her shocked for a moment before nodding my head.I walked back to my room to get Ace's medications. But all I could think of was what was happening in this house. Why did Evelyn try to kill her brother? And why did she leave without telling him Goodbye?A breath left my lips before shaking my head.I just have to wait for Emily's message, so I will know what exactly they gave to him to put him in a coma for that long.Lisa POV:It took a few weeks, Ace hasn't said anything to me yet.For some reason, he started acting rude and nonchalant. But again I said nothing and just continued ignoring him. It's not my job to be friends with him anyway.Just to treat him and make sure he is fine then walk away like nothing ever happened, yeah I could do that."Miss Lisa, Sir Ace is looking for you." One of the maids mumbled looking at me.Titling my head to the side, I stare at her before shaking my head."Am I in trouble?" I asked with a chuckle making her smile."I'll be there, just a minute please," I said rolling off my bed.She nods her head before walking away closing the door right behind her."Now what," I said with a groan.I didn't feel like going close to him.Not ready for his rude comments or anything.Grabbing my phone, I looked at the last text Emily sent. She still doesn't know what those pills are but is still trying to figure it out.Walking out of my room, I tried to put a smile on my face f
Lisa POV:"So you still have no idea what pills Ace's sister gave to him?" I asked Emily from my phone. The line went silent, then I heard Emily sigh."When I asked Dr. Marcus, he said those drugs are hard and it's only for animals, not Humans." She replied."So you're saying Ace's sister gave him animal pills?" I asked softly."Yes, but we are still looking into more information, I'll call you back, got some people to attend to, bye and be safe Lisa," Emily said before ending the call."Bye," I whispered looking at my phone before letting out a breath.I need to ask Ace more questions about this.I understand that his sister and have a bad bounding but why is that strong? And she has someone with her doing this.Animal pills are a hard source to get.Walking out of my room, with Ace pills with me.My mind was clouded with thoughts."This shouldn't be a problem for me, it's not my life, so why do I have this weird feeling," I questioned myself.Shaking my head, I knocked on Ace's door
Chapter 8Lisa POV:Last week one of the maids told me about Ace's sleeping disorder.I found out that every night he would go outside. He just stands there for hours and hours saying nothing to anybody.Shaking my head I tried hard not to think about Ace.I know he's just my patience and I will be leaving the house soon because he's getting stronger and stronger but for some reason, leaving him feels wrong. It's been 2 weeks now and we've gotten to know each other. He's still rude but not to me and I don't really know why.One of the maids said he has feelings for me and that is something I don't believe because he's rich and I'm just an ordinary Girl.I also received a call from Ella, and she still has no idea where those pills came from. I didn't know if I should tell Ace about it.Because I wasn't ready to be the cause of a family drama.“Ace, I wanted to inform you that I'll be leaving soon.” I said quietly walking into his room.Ace looked up at me, his glasses on his nose tip.
Lisa POV:Arriving at the ice cream store, I looked at Ace waiting for his first move. But he sat there staring at me.“What?” I asked softly looking outside.“Do you want us to go in together or just you?” He asked softly.“Do you want to follow me in? I asked, "I didn't want him to feel uncomfortable.“Yeah, I'll love that.” He replied before smiling at me.Then came out of his side of the car.Shaking my head, I looked at him as he walked toward my side of the car before getting out.“Come on Lisa, I wanted to open it.” He said loudly stomping his feet on the ground.Shaking my head, I giggled softly before closing the door.Ace looked at me with a pout, then opened my side of the door.“Thank you,” I said quietly but again he just looked at me with a smirk.Shaking my head, I walked toward the entrance of the ice cream store, only to be pulled by.“We are meant to Walk together Lisa,” Ace mumbled grabbing onto my hand.I gave him a nod, then watched him wrap his fingers with mine.
Lisa POV:Ladies and Gentlemen, Ace is sick, I had no idea how it happened.but since the day we went out for the Ice cream, he has been running a temperature and vomiting."Why didn't you tell me this earlier Ace," I said quietly."I didn't want to make you scared, I'm sorry Lisa." He mumbled his hand reached up to my hair.looking at him, I said nothing but just shook my head."It's like you've been sick because you don't look sorry to me," I said.making him smile."well me being sick, means you won't leave me anytime soon, so yes I'm 80% happy about that," he said.lord help me with this man, I prayed softly.Gabby giggled softly Making my head snap to her's."It's not funny Gabby, someone needs to talk to him," I mumbled."the only person that can do that is you Miss Lisa, You know how sir Ace is," Gabby mumbled.letting out a breath, I looked back at Ace only to see him giving me a grin."I'll go get his food," Gabby said before walking out of the room."All alright sit up stra
Lisa's POV:"Can I ask you something, Gabby?" I inquired softly as I entered the kitchen.Ace wasn't home today; he had a business meeting."Yes, is everything okay?" Gabby asked with a smile.Nodding, I let out a breath. "Who is Ace?" I asked."What do you mean?" she asked softly, her head tilted in confusion."I mean who is he? What does he do?" I pressed."Miss Lisa, I don't think I'm allowed to tell you this," she replied."Why not? Why can't you tell me?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.Last night, I did some research about him, but I only found out that Ace had companies around the world. Nothing indicated he was a dangerous man, but the maids' words lingered in my mind.Gabby shook her head before letting out a breath. "Why don't you ask him when he comes?" she suggested with a smile.Nodding, I watched her move around the kitchen. If she couldn't tell me, I'd have to ask someone else. Walking away, I felt her eyes on me, but she didn't stop me.I questioned maids, but no one ans
Lisa's POV:"So, you're saying Ace is obsessed with you?" Emily asked for the second time.Rolling my eyes at my friend, I responded, "I won't say obsessed, Emily. He's just acting strange and won't stop calling me his."After leaving Ace's mansion, I ignored his screams, claiming I would regret leaving him. I immediately called Emily to pick me up, and now here we are."Wow," she whispered.Nodding, I let out a groan. "What am I going to do, Emily? He sounded so serious," I mumbled."Do you want us to research him?" she asked."I already did that and found nothing interesting, only that he's a billionaire," I replied."If he is a billionaire, why would his sister give him animal pills?" she asked, confused."He said something about her being jealous because her father gave all his money and wealth to him," I explained."Aren't they siblings?" she asked."Step," was all I said, making her nod."I think you need a shower or something to eat," Emily suggested.Nodding, I gave her a smile
Lisa POV:The next morning, I and Ella prepared to go out, just for fun.Ella kept telling me about reporting all this to the police but for some reason, I couldn'tthere's something about Ace that makes me feel like he is a dangerous man that I don't know about."OK, so what if we go out today and someone comes after you?" Ella asked."I'll just fight back," I said quietly making her laugh."we both know you can't fight anyone Lisa, and I think you and Ace should just talk things out," she mumbled."I guess so," I replied."Can we just get ready for the outing, I wanna have some fun, just me and you," I replied.Ella giggled before wrapping my arms around hers.we both walked towards her car."All alright wanna go to the amusement park?" Ella asked."Yeah," I replied clicking on my seat belts. As Ella drove towards the amusement park, I couldn't shake off the unease lingering from thoughts of Ace. Ella glanced at me, concern evident in her eyes."You sure everything's okay, Lisa?" she
A year had passed since the chaos, and now, the air in their new home was filled with a sense of peace that neither Ace nor Lisa had ever known. They were far away from the world they used to know, the one that had been filled with danger, betrayal, and uncertainty. It was a small, quiet life now, one where the past didn’t matter, only the future they were building together.Lisa cradled their baby girl in her arms, smiling down at the tiny face that had completely changed her world. Their daughter, with her soft dark hair and delicate features, was the perfect blend of both of them. A reminder of the love and strength that had carried them through everything.Walking down the hallway of their cozy little house, Lisa could hear the faint sound of the ocean waves crashing against the shore in the distance. It was serene, soothing in a way that felt like a lullaby to her soul. She made her way to the room where Ace was sitting, his back facing the door as he gazed out the large windo
Ace leaned against the doorframe of the small bedroom where Lisa lay resting. The soft glow of the bedside lamp illuminated her peaceful face, a stark contrast to the chaos that had unfolded just hours ago. He couldn’t stop thinking about Richard’s lifeless body and how close his wife had come to harm. His mind was a whirlwind of conflicting thoughts, and the only thing keeping him grounded was the sight of Lisa, safe and sound in their bed."Stay here," he whispered softly, brushing a loose strand of hair from her forehead. Lisa stirred but didn’t wake, her exhaustion finally catching up with her after everything that had happened. He pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead, then turned to leave the room, closing the door quietly behind him.Ace’s expression hardened as he walked down the hallway toward the warehouse's lower levels, where Evelyn was being held. His men had taken care of Richard’s body, as per his orders, disposing of it far away from their hideout. Now, there was one
Grey stood outside the cell where Evelyn was being held, watching her through the small window. The bruises and cuts on her face were evidence of the fight she had put up, but there was no sympathy in his eyes. She had brought this on herself, and Grey had no more business here. His part was done—he had helped Ace capture her, and now it was time for him to leave. He pushed the door open and stepped inside, the cold air of the cell greeting him as the heavy metal door closed behind him. Evelyn was slumped in the corner, her arms wrapped around her knees, her hair hanging loosely over her face. She didn't look up as Grey entered, but he could sense that she was fully aware of his presence.A smirk tugged at the corner of his lips as he sat down in the lone chair facing her. "Oh, poor Evelyn," he said mockingly, his voice filled with dark amusement. "I must say, it's been quite a ride, hasn't it?"Evelyn remained silent, her head tilted slightly, but she didn’t look at him. Grey didn’t
Lisa lay peacefully in bed, the soft warmth of the blankets cocooning her, her body relaxed as sleep slowly pulled her under. She was vaguely aware of the gentle ticking of the clock on the wall and the quiet hum of the house, sounds that had become comforting in this strange new place Ace had brought her to.But then, something shifted. A sound, almost imperceptible, but enough to make her stir. Her brow furrowed, still caught in the remnants of a dream, as she called out, "Ace?"There was no reply. She blinked her eyes open, pushing herself up on the bed. Her hand reached out, instinctively seeking Ace’s familiar warmth beside her, but her fingers touched only cool, empty sheets. Her frown deepened as she sat up fully, glancing around the dark room. Where was he?"Ace?" she called again, louder this time.Still nothing.A chill crept up her spine as she swung her legs over the side of the bed, slipping her feet into her slippers. Something didn’t feel right. Her heart began to bea
Ace sat in his office, fingers drumming against the wooden desk as he stared at the stack of papers in front of him. His mind wasn’t on the documents, though. No matter how much he tried to distract himself with work, his thoughts always drifted back to Lisa and the baby. He hadn’t been home much lately, caught up in his dealings, and a part of him knew he was avoiding her.His phone buzzed on the desk, pulling him from his thoughts. He picked it up, seeing Grey’s name flash across the screen. He answered immediately. “Grey?”“We have her,” Grey’s voice came through, cool and composed. “Evelyn’s in our custody. She’s in the cells now, and we rounded up a few of her men, but Richard wasn’t with them.”Ace’s heartbeat quickened. They had Evelyn. Finally, they had her. But the news about Richard not being there left a bitter taste in his mouth. That man was like a ghost, always slipping through their fingers.“I’m coming soon,” Ace said, his voice firm. He stood up, grabbing his coat, a
Ann sat in the dimly lit room, her hands trembling slightly as she held the burner phone.Grey and his team had just briefed her on the plan—she was to call Evelyn, pretend to be sorry, and offer her some fabricated information about Ace and Lisa. It was a risky plan, but one they hoped would finally lead them to capturing Evelyn. Her mind was racing, trying to process the weight of what she was about to do. She had betrayed Lisa once by working with Evelyn, and though she had switched sides, the guilt still gnawed at her. Now, they were asking her to go back into the lion’s den, to trick the very person who had manipulated her before. Grey stood across from her, his expression calm but serious. “Are you ready?”Ann swallowed hard, nodding. “Yeah… I’ll do it.”One of Grey’s men handed her the phone, the screen lit up with Evelyn’s number. Ann’s thumb hovered over the call button for a moment, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew this call would either lead to Evelyn’s capture o
Grey stood in the dimly lit room, his phone in hand as he looked at the group of men before him. They were a small but elite team, hardened by years of working in the shadows, each of them bound by loyalty to one another.Ace had been one of them once, and now that Lisa was back, Grey felt a sense of relief. They were all in this together again.“I just spoke to Ace,” Grey began, his deep voice cutting through the silence. “Lisa is back. She’s safe. But things are still tense between them.”The men exchanged glances, some nodding in acknowledgment, others frowning at the thought of the ongoing tension between Ace and Lisa. It had been a long road for the couple, and though Lisa’s return was a relief, it was clear that the war between them and their enemies was far from over. One of the men, a tall, muscular figure with a sharp jawline and a serious expression, stepped forward. He was known as Briggs, and he was the leader of their small group, a strategist who rarely spoke unless he h
Evelyn leaned back in her plush chair, the dim light of the room casting shadows across her sharp features. A slow, satisfied smirk spread across her lips as she watched the live feed of Richard locked up in the isolated house. He was pacing, his usual calm and controlled demeanor slipping as he realized the gravity of his situation. It brought Evelyn a sense of twisted satisfaction to see her husband, always so proud and calculating, reduced to a caged animal."How the tables have turned, dear Richard," she whispered to herself, her fingers drumming on the armrest. The power shift between them was intoxicating. He had been trying to control her for too long, always thinking he could outsmart her, manipulate her into submission. But Evelyn had always been one step ahead, playing the long game, and now, with Richard out of the way, her plans could finally proceed uninterrupted. Or so she thought.A knock on the door interrupted her moment of victory. One of her men entered, his face
Ace stood at the far end of the room, arms crossed as he watched Lisa enter. His expression was cold, eyes narrowed, the tension in the room palpable. Lisa could feel the weight of his stare, the anger simmering beneath the surface. It wasn’t like him to be so distant, so guarded. But she understood why—everything had been spiraling out of control, and her sudden return had likely only added to the chaos.“Why are you here, Lisa?” Ace’s voice was low, almost a growl. He took a step forward, his eyes locked on hers, searching for answers.Lisa took a deep breath, trying to steady herself before responding. “I tried calling you, but you didn’t answer. I came because I needed to tell you something important.”Ace’s jaw clenched as he shook his head. “You should’ve stayed where you were. I put you there for a reason. It was to keep you safe.”“Safe?” Lisa scoffed, her frustration bubbling to the surface. “How can I be safe when everything is falling apart around us? Evelyn has her claws
