Ace's Point of View:

"I heard Jake say with a smile, 'Your wife is really beautiful.'"

Nodding, I felt my heart quicken its pace. Lisa had been occupying my thoughts since the day I met her—her eyes, her way of speaking—everything about her drove me crazy. Especially her stubbornness; I had never encountered a woman as stubborn as she.

"We received a report from the Mexican Mafia," Jake announced. "He says he needs more people to help him out, insisting you need to send some of our trusted men."

"Again? What happened to the first 50?" I asked, puzzled.

"He claims they never arrived, that there were only 30 men, and 20 were missing," Jake said, his expression furrowed.

Shaking my head, I released a sigh. This situation had been causing me stress for the past few weeks; missing items and people within my Mafia were becoming all too common.

"Call David," I said quietly, "tell him I'll meet him tomorrow."

"He's not in the country, Sir. He's in Paris, mentioned something about a family vac

Lisa's point of view; waking up alone in a large mansion isn't fun. it's been 2 days since my husband Ace, traveled, and I do nothing but wake up, walk around, eat, and talk to the maids. everything was annoying and peaceful at the same time. I miss working at the hospital, I miss being a nurse. but now I do nothing but watch TikTok and just stay alone for hours and hours and I have no idea when Ace will return. "Mrs Lisa!" I heard someone say making me look away from the garden. "yes, Mia?" I asked softly. Mia was a new maid my husband hired, she's 18 years old, too little to be a maid if you ask me. but who would say no to that cute face of hers? "you have been staring at the garden for hours, just wanted to know if everything is fine," She said quietly before looking away from me. letting out a chuckle, I nodded my head before moving slightly. "you wanna stay here with me?" I asked her. nodding her head, she walked towards me slowly, like she was waiting for a hit or

Lisa's point of view:After running for what felt like hours, our heavy breathing echoed everywhere."Mrs. Lisa, what are we going to do? Who are those men?" Mia asked softly."All I can say is we need to find somewhere to spend the night. I have no idea who those men are, but I need to get you to a safe place," I said, looking around.Despite our efforts, Mia kept walking slowly, making it hard for me."Come on, Mia, you can do this," I said quietly, hoping to encourage her to walk faster."I'm trying, Mrs. Lisa, but I think I got injured," she mumbled, her face a mask of pain."Let me see," I said quietly, letting go of her hand and examining her foot. "Yep, it's a bruise. Come on, jump on my back. I'll carry you," I said, looking up at her.She shook her head and stepped away, only to hiss in pain."That's going to slow us down. You can just leave me here and protect yourself," Mia said.Letting out a breath, I bit my lip. "Just get on my back, Mia. There's no way I'm leaving you here alon

Lisa's point of view:I settled by the door, my eyes scanning the darkness outside, every shadow and movement making my heart race. Mia's breathing soon turned slow and steady, a sign that she had finally fallen asleep despite everything. The hours dragged on, and the night seemed endless. I couldn't afford to rest. Every noise, every rustle of leaves, kept me on high alert. Thoughts of my husband filled my mind. Was he looking for us? Did he know we were in danger?Suddenly, a faint rustling sound came from outside the cabin. I tensed, straining to hear better. Was it just an animal, or were the men still after us?"Mrs. Lisa?" Mia's whisper broke through my concentration. She was awake, her eyes wide with fear."It's okay, Mia. Just a small noise," I whispered back, trying to sound calm. But my heart was pounding. I couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched. I stood up slowly, moving closer to the window to peek outside. The moonlight cast eerie shadows across the clearing, bu

Lisa's point of view:As the truck rumbled along the dirt road, I glanced at Mia, who leaned against me with her eyes half-closed. Despite everything, she was holding up well. The driver, whose name was Tom, kept his eyes on the road but occasionally glanced at us in the rearview mirror."How did you two end up out here?" Tom asked, breaking the silence."It's a long story," I replied, not wanting to delve into the details just yet. "But we were chased by some men, and we don't know why."Tom nodded, understanding the need for discretion. "Well, you’re safe with me. The nearest town isn't too far. We'll be there soon."As we drove, I couldn't help but reflect on the past day’s events. What had started as a seemingly ordinary day had turned into a nightmare. I kept wondering who those men were and why they were after us.The forest began to give way to open fields, and soon we saw signs of civilization. Houses dotted the landscape, and the road became smoother. The sight of other peopl

Lisa's point of view:The next morning, sunlight streamed through the curtains, waking me gently. I stretched and looked around the room. Mia was still asleep, curled up under the blankets. I quietly got out of bed, careful not to disturb her, and walked to the small kitchen to make some coffee. As I waited for the coffee to brew, I thought about everything that had happened. We were safe for now, but there were still so many unanswered questions. Who were those men? Why were they chasing us? And how had we ended up in this situation?Just as I poured myself a cup of coffee, there was a knock at the door. My heart skipped a beat, but I quickly reminded myself that we were in a safe house. I peered through the peephole and saw Sheriff Daniels standing outside. I opened the door with a cautious smile."Good morning, Sheriff," I greeted him."Good morning, Lisa. May I come in?" he asked."Of course," I said, stepping aside to let him in.Mia stirred in her sleep as the sheriff entered, b

  • Ace   chapter 27

**Ace's point of view:**Ace stared out the window of the plane, watching the landscape blur beneath him. Frustration boiled in his veins. He had spent weeks in a foreign country, chasing shadows and dead ends. The man who had been intercepting his supplies had vanished without a trace, leaving Ace empty-handed and seething with rage. His thoughts drifted to Lisa, his wife, left behind in their mansion. She was strong and capable, but he hated leaving her alone, even with the maids and Mia to keep her company. The weight of his double life pressed heavily on his shoulders. Being a Mafia leader was dangerous, but it was a world he had inherited and one he was determined to control. The plane landed smoothly, and Ace wasted no time. He hurried through customs and into the waiting car. The driver, sensing his urgency, drove quickly but carefully through the streets towards the mansion. Ace's mind raced with plans and contingency measures, but nothing could have prepared him for what he s

  • Ace   chapter 28

**Lisa's point of view:**The morning light filtering through the curtains did little to ease the tension in the safe house. I glanced over at Mia, who was still asleep, her small body curled up on the makeshift bed. The events of the past day weighed heavily on me, and I struggled to keep my fear in check. I knew Ace would be frantic with worry, but I had to stay strong for Mia.Suddenly, there was a soft knock at the door, and I jumped, my heart racing. I approached cautiously, peeking through the peephole. To my immense relief, it was Sheriff Daniels. I opened the door a crack."Good morning, Mrs. Lisa," he said gently. "We’ve got some new information. May I come in?"I nodded and stepped aside, allowing him to enter. He took a seat at the small kitchen table, and I joined him, my anxiety growing."We’ve identified the men who were after you," Sheriff Daniels began. "They’re connected to a criminal organization led by a man known as The Jackal. We believe he’s targeting your husban

  • Ace   chapter 29

**Lisa's point of view:**Ace’s men led us to another convoy of SUVs waiting outside. The tension in the air was palpable, but knowing Ace was with us brought a sense of calm. Mia, still weak but more hopeful, held my hand tightly as we climbed into the back seat of the lead car. Ace sat beside me, his presence a reassuring anchor. As we drove through the winding roads, Ace filled me in on what had happened during his trip. He had been tracking The Jackal for weeks, only to find that the elusive criminal had orchestrated this attack on our home as a diversion. Ace’s anger was evident, but so was his determination."We’re going to a safe house that’s even more secure," he said, his voice low. "My men are already there, setting up a perimeter. We’ll be safe."I nodded, trying to stay strong for Mia. The drive seemed to take forever, but eventually, we arrived at a secluded estate surrounded by high walls and dense woods. Guards patrolled the perimeter, their eyes sharp and weapons ready

A year had passed since the chaos, and now, the air in their new home was filled with a sense of peace that neither Ace nor Lisa had ever known. They were far away from the world they used to know, the one that had been filled with danger, betrayal, and uncertainty. It was a small, quiet life now, one where the past didn’t matter, only the future they were building together.Lisa cradled their baby girl in her arms, smiling down at the tiny face that had completely changed her world. Their daughter, with her soft dark hair and delicate features, was the perfect blend of both of them. A reminder of the love and strength that had carried them through everything.Walking down the hallway of their cozy little house, Lisa could hear the faint sound of the ocean waves crashing against the shore in the distance. It was serene, soothing in a way that felt like a lullaby to her soul. She made her way to the room where Ace was sitting, his back facing the door as he gazed out the large windo

  • Ace   chapter 126

Ace leaned against the doorframe of the small bedroom where Lisa lay resting. The soft glow of the bedside lamp illuminated her peaceful face, a stark contrast to the chaos that had unfolded just hours ago. He couldn’t stop thinking about Richard’s lifeless body and how close his wife had come to harm. His mind was a whirlwind of conflicting thoughts, and the only thing keeping him grounded was the sight of Lisa, safe and sound in their bed."Stay here," he whispered softly, brushing a loose strand of hair from her forehead. Lisa stirred but didn’t wake, her exhaustion finally catching up with her after everything that had happened. He pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead, then turned to leave the room, closing the door quietly behind him.Ace’s expression hardened as he walked down the hallway toward the warehouse's lower levels, where Evelyn was being held. His men had taken care of Richard’s body, as per his orders, disposing of it far away from their hideout. Now, there was one

Grey stood outside the cell where Evelyn was being held, watching her through the small window. The bruises and cuts on her face were evidence of the fight she had put up, but there was no sympathy in his eyes. She had brought this on herself, and Grey had no more business here. His part was done—he had helped Ace capture her, and now it was time for him to leave. He pushed the door open and stepped inside, the cold air of the cell greeting him as the heavy metal door closed behind him. Evelyn was slumped in the corner, her arms wrapped around her knees, her hair hanging loosely over her face. She didn't look up as Grey entered, but he could sense that she was fully aware of his presence.A smirk tugged at the corner of his lips as he sat down in the lone chair facing her. "Oh, poor Evelyn," he said mockingly, his voice filled with dark amusement. "I must say, it's been quite a ride, hasn't it?"Evelyn remained silent, her head tilted slightly, but she didn’t look at him. Grey didn’t

  • Ace   chapter 124

Lisa lay peacefully in bed, the soft warmth of the blankets cocooning her, her body relaxed as sleep slowly pulled her under. She was vaguely aware of the gentle ticking of the clock on the wall and the quiet hum of the house, sounds that had become comforting in this strange new place Ace had brought her to.But then, something shifted. A sound, almost imperceptible, but enough to make her stir. Her brow furrowed, still caught in the remnants of a dream, as she called out, "Ace?"There was no reply. She blinked her eyes open, pushing herself up on the bed. Her hand reached out, instinctively seeking Ace’s familiar warmth beside her, but her fingers touched only cool, empty sheets. Her frown deepened as she sat up fully, glancing around the dark room. Where was he?"Ace?" she called again, louder this time.Still nothing.A chill crept up her spine as she swung her legs over the side of the bed, slipping her feet into her slippers. Something didn’t feel right. Her heart began to bea

  • Ace   chapter123

Ace sat in his office, fingers drumming against the wooden desk as he stared at the stack of papers in front of him. His mind wasn’t on the documents, though. No matter how much he tried to distract himself with work, his thoughts always drifted back to Lisa and the baby. He hadn’t been home much lately, caught up in his dealings, and a part of him knew he was avoiding her.His phone buzzed on the desk, pulling him from his thoughts. He picked it up, seeing Grey’s name flash across the screen. He answered immediately. “Grey?”“We have her,” Grey’s voice came through, cool and composed. “Evelyn’s in our custody. She’s in the cells now, and we rounded up a few of her men, but Richard wasn’t with them.”Ace’s heartbeat quickened. They had Evelyn. Finally, they had her. But the news about Richard not being there left a bitter taste in his mouth. That man was like a ghost, always slipping through their fingers.“I’m coming soon,” Ace said, his voice firm. He stood up, grabbing his coat, a

Ann sat in the dimly lit room, her hands trembling slightly as she held the burner phone.Grey and his team had just briefed her on the plan—she was to call Evelyn, pretend to be sorry, and offer her some fabricated information about Ace and Lisa. It was a risky plan, but one they hoped would finally lead them to capturing Evelyn. Her mind was racing, trying to process the weight of what she was about to do. She had betrayed Lisa once by working with Evelyn, and though she had switched sides, the guilt still gnawed at her. Now, they were asking her to go back into the lion’s den, to trick the very person who had manipulated her before. Grey stood across from her, his expression calm but serious. “Are you ready?”Ann swallowed hard, nodding. “Yeah… I’ll do it.”One of Grey’s men handed her the phone, the screen lit up with Evelyn’s number. Ann’s thumb hovered over the call button for a moment, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew this call would either lead to Evelyn’s capture o

  • Ace   chapter 122

Grey stood in the dimly lit room, his phone in hand as he looked at the group of men before him. They were a small but elite team, hardened by years of working in the shadows, each of them bound by loyalty to one another.Ace had been one of them once, and now that Lisa was back, Grey felt a sense of relief. They were all in this together again.“I just spoke to Ace,” Grey began, his deep voice cutting through the silence. “Lisa is back. She’s safe. But things are still tense between them.”The men exchanged glances, some nodding in acknowledgment, others frowning at the thought of the ongoing tension between Ace and Lisa. It had been a long road for the couple, and though Lisa’s return was a relief, it was clear that the war between them and their enemies was far from over. One of the men, a tall, muscular figure with a sharp jawline and a serious expression, stepped forward. He was known as Briggs, and he was the leader of their small group, a strategist who rarely spoke unless he h

  • Ace   chapter 121

Evelyn leaned back in her plush chair, the dim light of the room casting shadows across her sharp features. A slow, satisfied smirk spread across her lips as she watched the live feed of Richard locked up in the isolated house. He was pacing, his usual calm and controlled demeanor slipping as he realized the gravity of his situation. It brought Evelyn a sense of twisted satisfaction to see her husband, always so proud and calculating, reduced to a caged animal."How the tables have turned, dear Richard," she whispered to herself, her fingers drumming on the armrest. The power shift between them was intoxicating. He had been trying to control her for too long, always thinking he could outsmart her, manipulate her into submission. But Evelyn had always been one step ahead, playing the long game, and now, with Richard out of the way, her plans could finally proceed uninterrupted. Or so she thought.A knock on the door interrupted her moment of victory. One of her men entered, his face

  • Ace   chapter 120

Ace stood at the far end of the room, arms crossed as he watched Lisa enter. His expression was cold, eyes narrowed, the tension in the room palpable. Lisa could feel the weight of his stare, the anger simmering beneath the surface. It wasn’t like him to be so distant, so guarded. But she understood why—everything had been spiraling out of control, and her sudden return had likely only added to the chaos.“Why are you here, Lisa?” Ace’s voice was low, almost a growl. He took a step forward, his eyes locked on hers, searching for answers.Lisa took a deep breath, trying to steady herself before responding. “I tried calling you, but you didn’t answer. I came because I needed to tell you something important.”Ace’s jaw clenched as he shook his head. “You should’ve stayed where you were. I put you there for a reason. It was to keep you safe.”“Safe?” Lisa scoffed, her frustration bubbling to the surface. “How can I be safe when everything is falling apart around us? Evelyn has her claws
