"He said it's over… and he vanished into thin hair just like that " Valerie continued, and drank yet another glass of the alcohol she was holding. She raised her eyes to look at the bartender again but the young man gave her the look that he wasn't going to release more.
"Ma'am, seems you look really drunk" He suggested.
"Give her more if she needs more" The man seated beside Valerie ordered and immediately the bartender rushed to get Valerie as much drink as she needed.
Valerie looked back at the man seated beside her, and wondered why the bartender suddenly had such scary look on his face when the man had ordered him to get her what she wanted.
Well, it wasn't any of her business as she still had a lot to think about and not somebody else's. "He says I'm too clingy" Valerie stated, raising her hands above her head, and roughing her hair.
The man dropped the full glass of Pina colada on the counter and stared at Valerie. "He must be insane for looking down on such a beauty"
"Hahaha" Valerie laughed out loud, "He says I'm to never look for him again".
Breathing out, she rested her head on the counter, raised it back up like she was possessed and pouted her lips foolishly, "I need to make him see my worth".
The man sighed. He didn't really listen to the last word she had said, and when Valerie look up at him, she tapped his shoulders. "What about you, how come you're drinking so much?" She questioned, in-between her drunken state.
"Well, just some little things" He only said, not wanting to dive into more details.
"At least you didn't get your heart broken just all of a sudden, I wanted to start up a family with him. We even promised to get married and have a boy first and, and, and" She paused as her tears brimmed her eyes.
"And live a long, long, long life loving each other." She finally completed, after taking the last glass of alcohol she had on the counter.
In between her drunken state, she looked at the stranger with her deep blue eyes and rested her chin on her palm which was on the counter. "Can you make me feel good" She questioned, as the effect of the alcohol was getting the better part of her.
"I can make you forget him all night." He replied, and leaned closer to her, resting in the same position she did.
"I want to. Shall we?" Valerie asked.
"First, pay up the bills"
He smiled. Even though he was a little drunk, he was still very much aware of what he was saying and everything going on. He dipped his hand into his jean pocket and brought out a few dollar bill from his wallet.
"Here, keep the change"
The bartender smiled foolishly. He was desperately waiting to hear that from his mouth all this time, the change was much more than the others he always left behind.
Valerie on the other hand followed him. As they both got to the passageway, an intense kissing between them began.
He suddenly reached for the buttons of her white shirt and began pulling them off. When they had both reached the door, he dipped in a card and immediately, the door opened.
Valerie could only moan in between the kiss. Her legs were beginning to hurt as a result of her heels, and her hair was now scattered as he dipped his hands in it roughly.
"Wa.. wait please" She begged, catching her breath and when he stopped, she pulled off her shoes and slowly sat on the bed.
He rushed close to her as he couldn't afford to spoil the moment between them. Then again, he made her lay carefully on the bed after pulling off her trousers.

Valerie slowly opened her eyes and a ugly almost life threatening headache welcomed her. She held her hair tight trying to process where she was.
Her eyes went round the luxurious room and she was very well aware she could never have been able to afford such a room even with her life savings.
She stared at herself while raising the duvet and immediately her eyes landed on her naked body, memories of everything that happened last night came rushing into her head.
She used her hand go cover up her mouth to prevent herself from screaming. This was all Sam's fault. She had done something she never should have all because of him. Underneath her breath she cursed him trying to recollect the face of the stranger she had spent the night with, but not even a tiny little bit memory of even his face or what he wore was forthcoming, but she was sure if she ever lays her eyes on him again, she would instantly recognize him.
She sighed and when she tried lifting herself up, her hands touched something.
It was a letter wrapped up neatly. Immediately, she picked it up and tore it open reading aloud.
"I hope you were able to forget him and sleep peacefully last night. I really enjoyed every bit of it, but I'm sorry I had to leave this way."
Her hand went to her hair immediate she read the last word. Well, maybe it was best he had left before she even woke up else she might never be able to forgive herself.
Still thinking about last night and how she had foolishly given herself to a complete stranger, one she was thankful was not a thief, her phone suddenly began ringing and Valerie rushed to pick up her phone.
It was her best friend Maya calling, her jaws nearly dropped when she recollected she was supposed to be out working late at the restaurant where she works. She had only planned on taking few hours off to spend with Sam because it was valentine's Day.
She placed the phone a few inches away from her ear in order not to have her ear drums bursted because she knew exactly who Maya was. "Valllllllll" was the next word that came from the phone in a very loud tone.
"Where the hell are you girl, you're so in a lot of trouble with Mr grumpy when you arrive so get your ass right here this minute" Maya yelled so loud on the phone.
With immediate effect, Valerie grabbed her clothes on the floor, and without taking a quick bath or anything, she wore her clothes, picked up her shoe in her hands and rushed out of the room.
"Taxi, taxi" She called rushing down the road to board the taxi she had called.
Once she was in, she dropped her shoes besides her, "Golden Hour restaurant please, hurry." She said to the cab driver who immediately started his engine and zoomed off.

As Valerie walked into the restaurant, she cocked her head first to the left, then to the right trying to hide from her worst enemy Bella.
When she didn't sight the nosy young lady anywhere, she rushed towards the counter to go meet Maya.
She took a seat immediately she got there successfully, breathing fast.
"I called you like a hundred times last night but you didn't pick any." Maya said.
After catching her breath for a while, she dropped her shoes on the floor and sighed. "Something weird, absurd and horrible happened last night and I still find it hard to believe" Valerie replied, causing Maya to leave behind a curious face.
"Look who got here 3 hours late," Bella disrupted, walking stylishly while swaying her hips sideways.
Valerie tapped her forehead, and then rubbed it hard, "Mind your business Bella, and go find something to do with yourself".
"Well, you're being wanted in the boss's over right this minute." Bella replied delightfully, with a grin starting at the left corner of her lips.
Valerie's heart nearly jumped out from her chest when she heard Bella. She was sure it wasn't going to be good and worst part, she had no single explanation to give as she was totally out of ideas.
"Looks like somebody's gonna get fired.." Bella mocked watching Valerie head towards the boss's office.
As Bella turned to leave, Maya was sure to hit her shoulders against hers forcefully causing the young annoying and nosy lady a little pain.

Valerie slightly rasped a knock against Mr Stanford's door and when he gave a loud permission to "Come in" she touched the door knob, swallowed hard, and opened the door.
The frown on his face suddenly deepened immediately he saw her, making Valerie understand he wasn't going to pardon her this time around.
"Are you just arriving?" His cold voice asked, as he adjusted his eyeglasses still wearing that ugly frown on his face.
Valerie wondered why this man never smiled all his life. Not even for once has she ever seen him smile, and she wished she could tell him it only gave him more wrinkles as he only kept a sad face all the time.
"I'm really sorry sir, I" She couldn't complete her statement when he suddenly hit his table hard and loud.
"Another apology again?, Miss Valerie Huston, you're fired! Leave my office this instant" He ordered with a loud voice that immediately crushed her soul.
"You're fired." That word repeatedly played in her head as her feet remained rooted on the ground while still in his office."But," She tried to give an explanation, but instead he raised his hand to keep hey shut."I said to leave this instant." He repeated.Tears rushed down her eyes immediately. Valerie was only an orphan who lost her parents when she was 10, and being raised in an orphanage, she was never loved by another. She had promised herself to grow up fast, and get a quick job to stand on her own since no one wanted to associate with her until she met Maya who later became her best friend. Earning a living was still quite hard for both of them, but at least, they were both still surviving and it was all that mattered. She cleaned up the tears on her cheek and turned to leave his office like he had instructed. Sam was to blame for everything happening to her. In just one night and one morning, he completely ruined her life.As she closed the door behind herself, more salty t
"I'm, I'm what?" Valerie questioned, with a shaky hands, voice, and trembling lips. "You're pregnant," He repeated, wondering why he was actually the only one with a smile on his face. It made him look a bit stupid as he watched the two ladies."No. No way!! I can't be pregnant. Do a test again, it might just be a bad fever." Valerie yelled, causing the doctor to flinch a bit in fear.He turned his face to stare at Maya whose eyes were down, facing the floor. "I don't understand, here's your test result Madam. Like I said, you're two weeks pregnant and that will be all." He really tried as much as possible not to sound hoarse because of his profession.Valerie couldn't streched her hands to collect her result from him, but instead Maya did. "Thank you." Maya exclaimed pursuing her lips in displeasure. As soon as the doctor walked out of the room and closed the door behind, Valerie tucked her head into her pillow crying and almost pulling out her hair at the same time."That's enough
"Right on time." Maya said and rushed into the restaurant. She didn't run all the way, but she was still really tired. Once she got it, Mr Stanford came out from his small office. "A minute late Maya, it shouldn't repeat itself." He warned, and Maya nodded. She wanted to roll her eyes at him again, but she couldn't. Afterall, he was the boss. "Bella's out, you'll be the only one here till late at night. Your pay will come with an extra." He said. He didn't even give her the chance to say a word, he just walked out of the restaurant rolling his keys in his hands. Maya turned to stare at him till he was out and when she turned to go stay at the counter, her eyes met with the stranger she had seen earlier. She tapped her forehead and gave him a 'What the hell are you doing here expression." He walked in, tucking one hand into his pocket and looking super hot."I haven't gotten an apology from you young lady." He said. Maya could hear the annoying whispering voices of the many ladies w
"Mr charming? Oh jeez Val, say something better than that. Mr charming my ass. Seriously he's too clingy and you know how much I hate such people." Maya complained."Get a man soon girl, you're getting to old, and soon, you'll be all wrinkled."Maya rolled her eyes still munching on her food. "I hate all men, especially those who believe we're something worthless they can trample on."Maya's words brought back memories of Sam to Valerie, the smile on her face suddenly turned into a deep frown that left her almost dropping a tear from her eyes."If I should ever lay my eyes on that cruel bastard, I'll pull out his heart, his lungs, everything, till he gets to feel what you're feeling. He destroyed your life and he gets to live in peace." Valerie cleaned up the tears from her cheek and then sniffled, "That's enough Maya, I don't want to talk about Sam." "Fine, just know I won't let him go scott free whenever I see him." "I'm going to show him and the world I am not somebody to be tra
Valerie stared at the house in awe, and she wondered why kind of a man he was, and what he was doing at such a bar that day. She swallowed hard though nothing was stuck in her throat."Excuse me ma'am, who are you looking for?" The gardener asked in a very polite manner when he approached her.Valerie cleared her throat to ensure her English would match with his. She recalled the name on the news paper, "Mr Nelson Davon."The gardener gave her another look, from her head to her toe wondering what business she had with the boss, but he was well aware he had no business with that.He turned around, and called a young lady. "Take her in, and inform young master of her presence immediately." He said."Follow me Miss."Valerie was more comfortable being call the Miss suddenly than the ma'am the gardener had called her, but well she couldn't blame the middle aged man.She followed behind the young lady, till they got to the living that looked way larger than the room she and Maya stayed. No
Valeria woke up with a mild pain in her head, she looked around, trying to decipher where she was, and she sat upright. She wondered how she ended up in the hospital.“Easy, ma'am.”She saw a man in a white coat and presumed to be a Doctor, the last thing she remembered before she passed out was grabbing a man by his leg till the police arrived.“How did I get here?” She inquired.“You’ll be told soon, ma’am.” The doctor said with a smile on his face, then he left the room.Soon, a policewoman entered, giving her a big smile.“How are you feeling now ma’am.” She asked. The mild pain was already subsiding. “Much better.”“Very good, thank you for catching the thief.”“Where is he?”“He's where he's supposed to be, don't worry.”“When you fainted, we brought you down here, you should be more careful ma’am, he could have hurt you.”The rejection she faced at Nelson’s place was more painful, she grinned weakly.“I did what came to my mind.”“Thank God, you and the baby are fine”At the me
“Take care of yourself, babes, we will get it all sorted out when I get back, okay?” Valarie wrapped her arms tightly around her. Maya wondered why Valeria was clingy.“Are you fine, Val?” Maya questioned, Valeria sniffed.“Sure, I'll miss you.”“I will just be gone for a few hours, is it the pregnancy hormone kicking in?” Maya inquired.“Maybe.” She released her with a smile on her face.“Be sure to take care of yourself at work, and don't get too worked up either with Mr. Grumpy, Miss Grumpy, or Mister Handsome.” Maya rolled her eyes at the latter, which made Valerie laugh.“Make sure you don't worry, let me worry when I come back from work.” Valeria slowly nodded and Maya left.“Now, let's get to work.” Valeria said immediately she shut the door. They shared a one-bedroom apartment, so she couldn't pack her things the previous day, so as not to raise suspicion. She didn't need to carry much, it wasn't as if she had much anyways, she sighed as she packed some sweatshirts, gowns, he
Valeria stepped down from the plane, she wondered what would happen afterward, it was already getting late, but the little money left from the money Nelson gave her, wouldn't be enough to rent her an apartment or rent her hotel room. She wondered where she was going to sleep, as she was tired from the journey, and her eyes were already heavy.Singapore is known for having a relatively low crime rate compared to other countries, so she felt a little safe. While she was roaming, she saw an abandoned vehicle. The worn-out car, its paint faded and windows cracked, sat silently in the deserted alleyway. She looked inside to make sure there wasn't anybody there, and she went in and shut the door.Singapore weather was mostly warm, and humid throughout the year.Inside, she nestled her belongings among, and spread a blanket. Her eyes, heavy with exhaustion from a long and arduous journey, fluttered closed. The rhythmic hum of the city's distant traffic provided a lullaby as she drifted into

He turned to Valerie, his expression grim. "It's time," he said, his voice heavy with resolve.Together, they climbed i

"But whether they stay that way depends entirely on you."Natasha's voice dripped with malice as she spoke, her words cutting through the air like a knife. "I know you'll try to act smart, Nelson," she sneered, her tone dripping with contempt. Back at home, the tension was palpable as Nelson gathered his family in the living room. Their expressions ranged from confusion to concern, each of them processing the events of the day in their own way. Before Nelson could speak, Kyle spoke up, his brow furrowed in confusion. "Dad, how come Natasha was at the auction?" he asked, his voice tinged with disbelief.Nelson took a deep breath, his mind racing with the weight of the truth he was about to reveal. "I was just as shocked as you were," he admitted, his voice grave. "But it seems Natasha has been plotting with Kelvin to bring me down."The room fell silent, the only sound the creaking of the floorboards beneath their feet. Eyes widened in shock as Nelson recounted Natasha's involvement with Kelvin, her betrayal hitting them like a punch to the gut.Valerie's voice shook as she spoke, her eyes clouded with memories of past hurts. "I still can't forget what Natasha did to us years ago," she confessed, her words heavy with the wei
As Nelson addressed the crowd and media, he felt a surge of adrenaline coursing through him. "Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed members of the media," he began, his voice steady but tinged with intensity. "I have something important to reveal."The room grew silent as Nelson took a deep breath, steeling himself for what was to come. "Kelvin," He gestured towards his stepbrother, his tone heavy with disdain, "has been my stepbrother for years. But what you don't know is that our relationship has been fraught with animosity. I've never trusted him, and for good reason."Gasps and murmurs erupted from the crowd as Nelson's revelation hit home. Meanwhile, Michael, one of Nelson's senior board members, was spotted attempting to flee the scene. With swift coordination, Nelson's team members intercepted him, ensuring he couldn't escape justice."Now, let me show you the truth," Nelson declared, as his team played audio recordings and videos exposing Kelvin and Michael's fraudulent transaction
As Nelson and his team waited anxiously, they eyed the room for any chance to catch Michael and Kelvin red-handed. Tension hung thick in the air, each member of the team poised for action, their senses heightened.Suddenly, the room fell silent as Kelvin made his grand entrance, his presence commanding attention. But what caught Nelson off guard was the figure at his side, Natasha. A sinister smile curled her lips as she whispered something into Kelvin's ear.Nelson's heart skipped a beat as his eyes locked onto the pair, disbelief washing over him like a wave. Natasha, the woman with a vendetta against his family, standing beside Kelvin, his own step-brother, in a twisted alliance that threatened to crack everything he held dear.Clenching his teeth, Nelson muttered to himself, cursing his own folly for underestimating Natasha's potential for betrayal after her stint in prison. He couldn't shake the gnawing question of how Natasha and Kelvin had formed an alliance after her relea
The following day, Nelson arrived at work with a heavy heart, his mind preoccupied with the task ahead. Despite his outward appearance of composure, a sense of unease gnawed at him, knowing the weight of his decision could shape the company's future. As he settled into his office, Nelson discreetly observed Michael's movements, noting the subtle shifts in his demeanor. With a calculated move, he subtly arranged for an AI detector to be installed on Michael's phone, a precautionary measure to uncover any potential deception.Later that day, Nelson convened a meeting with the board members, his expression grave as he broached the subject of selling the company. "After much consideration, I've decided to entertain the idea of selling the company," he announced, his voice tinged with resignation. The board members exchanged surprised glances, taken aback by Nelson's unexpected declaration. Sensing their uncertainty, Nelson pressed on, outlining his plan to sell the company as a strateg
