Chapter Ninety-Nine

Zyrielle's POV.

Sheer gold overlaid the necklace and my focus remained on the item. I have never seen anything like this in my entire life, and quite frankly, I was amazed.

"This is too expensive. You cannot expect me to take this from you. How do I even start? People would want to rob me on the way." I said all in a rush.

He snorted at my complaints and shook his head dismissively. "You should be more happy that you have something tangible going on for you. I do not care about what anyone says about how much gold I am gifting to my wife. You have never asked me for something and the one minute I want to give you stuff, you are worried about what people are going to say? Sometimes I wonder if I should be worried about you." He said, quickly contorting into anger.

"I didn't mean that I did not appreciate it. It's just too darn expensive and I fear that on one of my trips to the doctor, I could be waylaid, you know?" I replied and he shook his head.
