CHAPTER 224

They got off the lift and walked to their doors.

“Thanks for tonight,” Dianna said, her voice soft.

“Do you want to come in,” he said in a rush. “For a drink? I have some of that wine—”

“Yes,” she said, crossing the hall to press herself against him.

His hands tangled in her hair and he lowered his mouth to hers. As soon as their lips met, his awkwardness vanished. The Tupperware container holding her leftovers dug into his stomach as they tried to get closer to each other. He broke the kiss with a chuckle.

“Maybe we should take this inside.”

Dianna looked down at the leftovers. “I should put these away—”

“I have a fridge,” he said, unlocking the door.

She looked over her shoulder at her apartment once before turning back to him and smiling. “Okay,” she replied, following him into the dark flat.
